whom do you think will win the tournament and carry the Golden Cup?

For years, oh well, since I started to like soccer, I have found it gratifying to watch these matches and especially these world events, where each team from each country shows what it is capable of to win the cup and to fill their Nation with pride. in the Personally, I have found admiration for the potential that the country of Germany has to developys in each stage, so it would not surprise me if it reached the finals as it has done before, what is more, this country has managed to be in this position 8 times , from 1954 to 2014 where he achieved victory taking the much desired 18-carat gold cup. I hope and on this occasion continues with the same performance and dedication so that I can obtain victory again.

Again I see people citing names of favorite players as if they were the key to another team winning the championship.
As I've said before, this world cup will be decided by the best team overall, not the talented players we know.

Playing in a European competition is one thing, playing in a world cup is completely different.
The result will be decided by the best selection as a whole.

As a good South American I would like to see Messi succeed, but the truth is that with what he has shown at PSG he has disappointed me a bit, when comparing him with CR7, it is different, CR7 does not lower the level so much, what happens is that now he has had so many shocks at the emotional level that things are not working out for them, the problem with the boy with autism, then the mere fact of losing his baby and then closing with the problems that Man United has, this has actually been very hard, and they are blows very often, I really see France much stronger with a Benzema and a very animated and motivated Mbappé, but in spite of everything, I think that there is still a long time before the World Cup, maybe both Messi and CR7 this time They give everything for their teams.

And hopefully, this last world cup can give the biggest prize for Cristiano Ronaldo to be the best player and bring Portugal to the semifinals or even the final and win the world cup. It would be a very beautiful parting gift for Ronaldo. Armed with their experience in playing with big teams in European competitions, it will allow the players to bring out what they have learned in other countries.

I think, Portugal have to favourite team in Qatar world cup.Portugal played very well in Qatar world cup Qualifier match. Even Ronaldo is outstanding performaer in portugal. Portugals have some star player who can change match. I think Ronaldo will be top scorer in this world cup. I hope Portugal will be qualified in 1st round easily.

Don't you think that this World Cup is also the last chance for another football great, Messi?  Grin
Personally, I think that neither Portugal nor Argentina are favorites this time and that Brazil, Spain, England and France have bigger chances, but of course in football anything is possible.
Personally, I like Messi more and I support him at this World Cup but I am not optimistic that he will be able to take Argentina to the end.
In any case, a very exciting and uncertain World Cup awaits us and Portugal and Argentina will be very dangerous opponents for everyone.
agreed with the point that everything possible in love, sports and war.
And my favourite is Messi too- I like his attitude and his approach towards the game. Football is not very popular in our country but people like Messi a lot.

each of us must have his own champion, but if we look at the performance of asia and africa, in my opinion their country is still not strong enough to win the world cup Qatar, but according to my prediction this year the country with the most chance to win the world cup is,
1, England
2, Brazil
3, argentina
With due respect most chances we will have no serious contender from Asia or Africa because they are not good enough for this right now it needs decades for them to become champions of world right now just two continents are eligible for this and it is South America and Europe and with current form and players ability I feel your all teams are good enough to have their place into last four, but I am changing some ranking hopefully some others also will give their views about these teams or their own likes for this world cup which is now coming after seven months in Qatar.1. Belgium2. Brazil3. England 4. Argentina.
I think that trues without less respect not any expectation with countries from Africa and Asia can reach higher level or stage on FIFA 2022 World Cup, maybe Japan or South Korea just reach until 16 round only or have bad possibility can't pass to knock out group. Almost FIFA World Cup edition not see any Asia and Africa country can reach until semifinal except on FIFA 2002 World Cup where South Korea as home success lead until semifinal with controvercial.

I don't think tha Portugal is stronger than in last years. Yes, it is Ronaldo's last World Cup (probably), but this alone will not be enough for them to win it. You could argue equally for Argentina/Messi. Messi is in a similar situation, both haven't won the World Cup (but at least the equivalent on their continents) and for both it is likely the last World Cup this year. But the competition is strong, for Portugal or Argentina to even reach the semi-final they will have to beat other strong teams such as France or Brazil which is pretty unlikely.

The World Championship, where the main issues are decided in a one-match knockout game, is a kind of lottery where a very large group of teams has a chance to win. I'm sure we'll see a few games where the clear favorite gets knocked out of the tournament by an underdog. Not all favorites will be knocked out of the tournament in matches like Brazil - Germany or Germany - France, there will be lower-level sensations and death matches. Even Macedonia was able to destroy Italy, why can't other teams do the same?

Hopefully, but I think it is not an easy thing because teams from other countries will also definitely play hard. There is a possibility that Portugal could reach the semi-finals and hopefully be a reality. I am confident that the experience of the Portuguese players who play in outside groups will put out their best performance to give a good game.

this will be the last world cup for Cristiano Ronaldo with Portugal and also several other stars of course we really hope that Portugal can at least step into the semifinals although it is not easy considering they often struggle when facing big teams like Germany but I am very confident with the performance and strength of the players who are so qualified in the Portugal squad this season, where the Portuguese players are currently playing with big teams in European competition.of course it will be a reference that Portugal can go further in the Qatar world cup

Qualification for world cup for South American nations like Brazil and Argentina has always been a certainty for them for many years so I don't rate them based on that neither do I build expectations based on that. Apart from France I don't think any European nations gives Brazil much trouble. Germany only did sometimes ago because the Brazilian team was built around Neymar and him been out of that game with a career threatening injury really devastate the team hence Germany could capitalize on that. That same German team struggled against Argentina in the final. Argentina almost won if not that the strikers were been wasteful in the game.

Without being biase on my choices, I think most of the Affican nations a likely not going to make it past group stage. The few that would would likely get eliminated in the round of 16. Ghana most especially seems to have been placed in a group of death with Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea, no bad feelings but its game over. From the way I see it, they are the least in that group although, not to mind  the best doesn't always wins but most times, they do and this is world cup.

Anyway  if I'm to pick those I project to lift the trophy and other consolation prizes, I'll go with;
1. Germany
2. Belgium
3. Brazil
I'm sure they've got a few flaws but, that's my pick.

Yes indeed. At first, all the teams have the same chances but slowly, everything will be seen and we can see which team has a bigger chance than the other team. Maybe in the second half, after many teams have left the list, it will be seen more clearly so that we can make a complete list. The players themselves have been prepared to play with a good performance and of course, they have been training hard.

Please! soccer team...there is no club...  Embarrassed

The referees in the world cup are the best, what are you talking about? I am sure that errors will occur but why judge something that we do not know if it will happen...Huh

The gold cup??? There is no such thing, it is called the FIFA World Cup Trophy.

CONCACAF Gold Cup. You can understand that the use of proper terminology/slang is important in the world of soccer!!

1.- Argentina.

I understand your emotion but use the appropriate terminology, it's Universal it's easy, that way we all understand each other.

each teams have same chance to reach semi final stage, as long as they play well and could make a goal who is the enemy would not be serious problem. all team must prepare their player in best condition to get best result in this tournament. abroad players still be backbone and their contribution needed .

It is clearly stated that Soccer is a sport in which the team contribution is a must to win. Ronaldo is playing for Portugal and hasn't won a world cup for the country. In every tournament he have been doing the best of his ability even at situations of injury. So, there is nothing to get ashamed. This time the team seems to be in better position than the past, because this seems to be his last chance to win World Cup for his country. I believe he'll strengthen himself after the bad news of his son's death which too a mental stress for him.

Ronaldo is without a doubt one of the best players that we have seen during the last decades so it would be a shame if he was not able to make it at least to the final of the world cup at least once during his career, but the truth is that Portugal national team has never been as good as he is, and as we know soccer is a team sport, so it does not matter how good Ronaldo could be if there is not a team that back hims up and he needs to do everything by himself in order to get a win at the world cup.

Just as others have stated, you need to lock the thread since there is an ongoing discussion on this topic, but before that let me pen down my opinion on this topic.
The 2022 FIFA World cup battle have already started and as you said one of the favorite team of many football fans have been knocked out of the tournament at the qualifying stage the Nigeria team have been underperforming in their recent games and that attention is now shifted to another team who have the motivation to push through to the finals such as Egypt 🇪🇬 national team or even Ghana 🇬🇭 defeated the Nigerian team in the qualifying stage.
