Nigeria missed a couple of their best players today especially Rasheedat who plays for Atletico Madrid (w) team

What happened to Rasheedat? why wasn't she even on the bench? There's no doubt that the Atletico Madrid player is a great player and is one of the important pillars for Nigeria.

I'm still proud of their performance today and I hope they improve on their ball distribution and chances creation before the next match.

This draw is a positive move that they managed to do even without some of their important players, hopefully we can see the 3 points they get when they face Australia.

The draw will definitely put some pressure on Canada in their next game too of course, Rasheedat had a red card against a team I can't remember right now, in the Women African Nations Cup, and that's why she's ineligible for this game.

She should however be available for the remainder of tournament, that surely would ease the pressure and workload on Asisat Oshoala, I'm literally going bank on the against Australia for sure, I hope the odds would be up to double digits  Cheesy

Yeah I can't believe Sinclair didn't hit the pk.  Lost that game thought Canada would take that one.  Hope this isn't how my betting goes during the entire cup lol.  0-1 so far I didn't bet either of the opening games although I should have.  Always like betting the host countries first games.  Need US to crush tonight.

The countries in this competition are strong and it would be difficult to guess who would win. I know the American side are tough but with the sub competitions before the world cup, I think there are certain countries to watch out for.
United States will play against Vietnam tomorrow and that should be easy points for the United States to get being the two time defending champions in this competition. I expect the United states in the finals of this competition again this year as they have been doing since, the question is which country will be with them in the finals that is if they make it. There are many tough teams in this competition and so predicting at this stage will be difficult. We have to see most of the teams play their first game to judge their performance.

It is interesting to see how some matches are quite different from what we are used to.
Check out the USA vs Vietnam odds
1.001 to USA win, 18 draw and 101.0 Vietnam win

Now take a look at the odds for goals:

Even though it's USA, it's a debut match, I believe a bet on Under 6.25 is a good bet.
I think I'll take my chances  Cheesy

It's the only way to bet that game but I wouldn't touch it.  You have some youth on this squad and will want to make a statement the first game.  With goals for and goals against a possible decider they aren't going to throw on the brakes.  The raping and rose level are on limited minutes and I bet the younger women go for blood.  My guess is 8-0 US side.  Can't decide how I want to bet it yet though

Whatever results that comes out the the matches wouldn't be a surprise to me, because it is hard to predict women's football. I think we will likely see boring matches, since woman aren't that skillful and strong like men.
This would be the take of most people. Even right now, I have gone on the internet and most people aren't just interested in the competition, but they do not know that there is a fifa world cup taking place. Many people think that women's football is child's play but I fell that this game is important to those women who have decided that they will become professional football and were even selected by their country to represent them. Yes, it is a big deal for them.

Quote
I am used to watching professional football for entertainment and I don't think that I will be able to have such high level of entertainment with the women's football. I will try my best to see if I can watch few matches to see if I am wrong with my thoughts.

In the last World Cup Costa Rica and Spain drew 1 goal.
I believe that today Spain is a little stronger, even so it shouldn't be an easy game.
The world cup just started, but there has been a lot of surprises so far for everyone who has been watching. From the first game that New Zealand women made a new record and won a game that they were seen as the loosing team, to Nigerian women securing a draw against Canadian women who had the most possession, were the Olympic champions, had a penalty that they failed to utilize, so we may also see Costa Rica surprise us too and win against Spain who look like the favorite for the game.

I am not surprised by all these surprise results for the single reason we are talking about female football here and the games here precipitate quite quickly, loads of goals are scored which makes this tournament not the best to watch and I rarely see any women football match.I don't to sound like an extremist or masochist but I believe soccer is a game for men only as they play much better than women and we all respect them when we see for example the World Cup or Champions League games.Sure the FIFA women world cup have their audience but I believe to be much lower than men World Cup.
Thats common to see low number of audience watching sports played by Women. Soccer isn't an exception, but things are getting better over time. It is the physique and the stamina that makes sports played by men to be very interesting. Most of us don't watch women's matches. Recently after watching cricket matches played by Women I've started to watch this season's FIFA played by Women. Match between Spain and Costa Rica have got ended and Spain have made 3 goals.

Spain vs Costa Rica in FIFA Women's World Cup match has already started. Spain is leading by 3 goals. V. del Campo scored the first goal in 21 minutes. 2nd goal was scored by A. Bonmatí in 23 minutes. The game has started badly. The goalkeeper of Costa Rica team is very weak because of which Spain can score so many goals. Spain has got 1 Offsides so far. Spain has managed to score from the first Offsides. Now it is almost half time of the game. Let's see how many more goals Spain can score before half time.

Canada has more dominance in this match, and they should be able to win here. But a cool performance from Chiamaka Nnadozie made all of Canada's chances for nothing. TBH, I wasn't surprised to see her cool performance, because she came from Paris FC, which is ranked third in the French women's league, below Lyon and PSG.

In their next game (Nigeria) will meet Australia, which is one of the strongest teams in this World Cup, maybe it will be very difficult for Nigeria to hold a draw like they did against Canada.
Great display of resilience by the Nigeria Super Falcons. They made it hard for the Canadian squad to create goal-scoring chances. Credits should be given to the Nigerian defense and the goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie and who won the Woman of the Match award. It was a careless tackle by Deborah Abiodun that caused a red card. She has no reason to engage in such a dangerous tackle. Deborah will be greatly missed in future games.

I watch the game between the host Australia and Ireland and it is obvious that group B is a difficult one. Both teams played quality football. Both teams created chances but lacked clinical finishing. If not for the penalty against Ireland, the match would have ended in a goalless draw. Australia now tops the group with three points and their next game is with Nigeria. If the Nigerian female team fails to improve in thier game, they might not have it easy with the host team because the Australian team is more coordinated and tactical.

Easy game indeed!

Spain leads against Costa Rica 🇨🇷  by 3 goals to nil and it has only being 34 minutes which is scary! Btw , Spain just missed a penalty and the wave keeps coming...
If these Costa Ricans aren't careful this could be a cricket scoreline.
Inplay Prediction: Spain 7-0 Costa Rica

Not to look down on the women, but we shall have more surprise results to come, because of handballs,  penalties and all those little mistakes that make it easy to get on the scoreline and anybody betting on these games should be cashing in on a game to have a penalty!!

Honestly a draw vs Canada is a good result for Nigeria though. Playing out a draw with Canada in women football, I think Nigeria need to even celebrate it. Overall, it was a good performance by the Falcons. They should have won but there was no connection between the midfield and the attack, they have to improve. Nigerian attack always loses idea once they reach the half line. Going forward they should beat the Irish if all goes well and try getting a result vs the Aussies, and I think that’d be the problem.
A draw means one point for the Super Falcons, and one point can make the difference to qualify for the next stage of the competition, so it is not so bad. Canada would have won the game had there not been some Heroics from our goalkeeper who saved a penalty. The super Falcons need to develop from this performance and do better to ensure they claim all three points against Australia the next country we play.

It will be good that we are at four points at the end of next game, It will be a better hope for qualification.

Without a doubt that with this draws. They now just need a good result against the Republic of Ireland to be on track to move forward.

Meanwhile, Switzerland are having a good game and will beat the Philippines - which was more or less expected.

Another interesting one today Spain v Costa Rica - a similar sort of match up, a top
side Spain v's a much lower ranked Costa Rica but as joker_josue says the results
be unpredictable.

In FIFA Women's World Cup, the match between two teams Nigeria vs Canada has started. The players of both teams are trying hard to score goals. However, I like the performance of Canada team players. It seems that Canada can score anytime. If Nigeria does not play well today, the chances of winning today's match will be very small. So far, the players of both teams have not scored any goals. If there is no goal in today's match, the match is likely to be a draw. If the players of Canada team Can play well, maybe Canada can win. Nothing is understood until the game is over.

It's a tough group for Nigeria indeed, but they are not to be written off just yet, Australia needed a penalty to win against Ireland, and I'm very sure that Nigeria would be a tougher opponent for Australia than Ireland was.

Nigeria missed a couple of their best players today especially Rasheedat who plays for Atletico Madrid (w) team, but still put up a decent fight against a strong Canadian side, and I believe the draw is actually a positive start for Nigeria, a win against either Australia or Ireland would sure put them in a decent chance of qualifying for the round of 16, I'm still proud of their performance today and I hope they improve on their ball distribution and chances creation before the next match.

Thats a good result indeed for Nigeria against a top team like Canada. Many thought
a Canadian win was inevitable.

We had already said here that women's football is very unpredictable. And we already had the first surprise in this World Cup, with New Zealand winning.

Of course, it will be easier from the second round onwards, as we have already seen how the teams are playing, but it will be a World Cup with several surprises.

One thing is for sure, we shouldn't compare countries as it happens in men's football. A country that is good at masculine is not necessarily good and feminine. We have to stay tuned and analyze more details.

Thing is though, if you look at the too 10 ranked in the world we see some familiar
countries, Brazil, Germany, Netherlands, France, England and Spain!
