It seems that Ronaldo will not be tormented in the competition for the top scorer of the FIFA 2018 FIFA World Cup ™ after being released with the end of the first round after his historic 3-3 win over Spain, the data changed in the following days. Lucaco and Ronaldo scored four goals in the first two rounds to compete on top of the World Cup standings before the surprise came from Harry Kane, who jumped to the top after a hat-trick in Panama's past, scoring two goals against Tunisia

Bang Columbia-England 1-1
last minute goal for Columbia what a story. From the  time when Columbia begin to play football instead to train wresting they are much better
I am really sorry for Japan but it is football
We will have game Belgium-Brasil my bet is Brasil they are playing better and better

This match is not even over yet and it might be a penalty shootout to decide which team will go to the next round. I support England and it will be a major upset if they didnt make it from the penalty shootout. Sometimes unexpected things, I mean like alot might happen in penalty shootout as the top team might be much more pressured

Sweden won the quarter-finals of the FIFA World Cup Russia 2018, with a 1-0 victory over Tuesday at the expense of the Swiss team in the price of the final.

Emile Forsberg scored the only goal in the 66th minute.

Sweden won the World Cup quarter-final.

- A counter-attack by Sweden that gave Sweden a penalty and was sent to Switzerland but the VAR intervenes to cancel the penalty and only commits a foul outside the area and proves the package.

Proving what? the team was an absolute disaster against Japan, especially in the defense (nothing new, they had a shaky defence in the group stages), Kompany was so bad in that game. IMO The only good thing about Belgium was the last counterattack, nothing more. I think Neymar & co are going have a field day against Belgium in the QF.

Totally agree, Belgium is an excellent team and could get this world cup easily if it has a good defence!
Belgium attack = 9/10
Belgium midfield = 6.5/10
Belgium defence = error, this word doesn't exist!

Two early goal from Japan and you are stating their defence are that bad?
They are atleast decent for me but it is good that they were conceded two goals from their match against Japan, that just means the coach should be able to notice something is wrong with his strategy. They wont repeat the same mistake in their next game again
It isn't just because of their last game, if you've been watching Belgium in this WC then you'll know their defence isn't as solid as, let's say, Brazil or Uruguay. Statistics say Belgium have conceded 5 goals in their last 5 games...that's a lot, and they haven't faced a team the like of Brazil with Neymar, Coutinho, Willian, G.Jesus, Firmino, these guys could exploit Belgium's biggest weakness IMO. So, like @InvoKing, Belgium have an amazing attack, good midfield, sloppy defence.

Nice analysis @tomahawk9  Wink
@cazkooo, i do not have special thing to add to tomahawk9's nice response. Effectively, i am not talking about the last game only but the performance of the Belgium team as a whole in this world cup, i am very disappointed about their defence and the coach's choice...
Missing a relatively easy world cup for them because of a weak defence is so crappy!

Sweden in the QF. What an awful match  Roll Eyes

IMO Sweden isn't as great as some people think, the only remarkable thing about them is their shield wall (lol) when they decide it's time to go defensive mode. Today: One lucky goal, awful finishing, decent defence, nothing more. I think they'll have a hard time against England or Colombia (just like they did vs Germany), you need something more than just a defensive gameplan against those type of teams. Decent run though, Sweden haven't reached the QF since USA '94, swedish folks should be proud.

I think this might one of the years where Brazil does something amazing again. I know its not the days of ronaldo, rivaldo, cafu and so forth but they seem like they bond very well. They seems like friends got together to play. They do give out that team chemistry. Belgium seems like it would be easy but France is really strong. I still can't believe Spain and Portugal got eliminated, I was really expecting both of them to go a long way into finals.

Today is a swedish match against Switzerland, I prefer Sweden to go into the next round. But I see switzerland statistics that they are more in the favorite. 25% for Swedish victory and 35% for Swiss victory. If their match today continues into the penalty just their luck and their superior mentality will win the match.

Its going to be a tough one to predict the winner between Sweden and Switzerland. I read some 'experts analysis' but they are divided as well. But yeah it looks like the bookies have put Switzerland as the favourite here.

Sweden prefer a physical style of play and if they successfully neutralize the dangerous attackers of Switzerland I can see them go through to the quarter-finals. I watched the Switzerland vs Serbia match and the Swiss got very lucky. On the other hand Sweden efficiently shut down Germany until that late Toni Kroos goal and beat Mexico 3-0. Sweden to qualify for the better odds  Wink

Looks like I'm not the only one backing Sweden, despite Switzerland being the bookie's favourite... now I'm wondering if I should just switch over to the Swiss in my FIFA predictor, in case the bookies turn out to be right?

So far, really impressed with the guys from Scandinavia/Nordic regions... I mean okay, Iceland weren't pretty to watch but they defend like... Vikings? Haha. But Denmark, Sweden, always physical teams and not too poor technical ability.

Brazil were the only ones so far who won by a clearer margin in the last 16, I'm counting on more of the same today but a statistician might say we're due for one more game to be won by a margin of 2 or more goals.
Well, this really makes me very dizzy haha
I don't know what to bet for who, sweden or swiss. Or should I bet in both, this time is so difficult to guess. Even the so-called superior countries like Spain and argentina suddenly lose control and they have to go home. What I fear is when bookie prediction becomes a reality XD.
In knockout matches, I think many gamblers lost their money expected teams all went home. don't know how to predict next matches Argentina i was expected but Portugal and Spain's result really shocked. this season the best team so far according to me is Russia. I will not pick any odds in today's match next direct semifinals.

Both teams look equal in the quality and yes I am sure this game will be tough. Another penalty shoot out may have to be taken to determine the winner of this game.

It just wasn't meant to be and my heart goes for all the Japanese lads and their fans; they really played their hearts and I think they gave a good account for themselves, Belgium really survived this game and could have been sent parking has the Japanese team held unto their lead for just half an hour.
That right, I do not really think japan will lead the match until the second half. They can shut off all the attacks made by Belgium and the first goal of Belgium I think it is luck. But this is football that can happen though not possible, if Belgium did not make a goal in the last minute and the game continued with extra time I'm sure japan can pass to the next round.

I agree. Brazil is going to wipe the floor with Belgium. If Japan can net two goals against the Belgians, then the Brazilians will be able to score anywhere from 4 to 8 goals. It was just carelessness from Japan. Else, they would have been the first Asian team to qualify for the QF.

Japan got a good free kick and corner in, but Belgium managed to score in the counter attack. And the fact that this was seconds before the final whistle, broke a lot of Japanese hearts.
Why did they even take that corner in the 95' min with 5 or 6 man in the 18-yard box? what did they expect was gonna happen? That was so naive, they should've kept the ball and wait for the whistle so the can go to extra-time. They played fantastic yesterday, but that was a rookie mistake.
