Japan is so so close of pulling an upset. Sad to see them lost that way after leading most of the way. But big respect to the Belgium, they really didn't give up and push for more to earn this victory. I also have mad respect for Japan and their fans for staying and at least helping out in cleaning the stadium. Japanese people are really known for their discipline.

Belgium may have benefitted from Japan's push for a goal in the dieing minutes of the match. Japan got a good free kick and corner in, but Belgium managed to score in the counter attack. And the fact that this was seconds before the final whistle, broke a lot of Japanese hearts.
The good thing about this match was that Japan played positively, which is a refreshing change from their last match against Poland.

It just wasn't meant to be and my heart goes for all the Japanese lads and their fans; they really played their hearts and I think they gave a good account for themselves, Belgium really survived this game and could have been sent parking has the Japanese team held unto their lead for just half an hour.

Surely this was one of best match for this world cup what a comeback by Belgium now we are going to be decider quarterfinal from these both teams which is going to win in quarterfinal for me this will be this time world champion because these both are doing great job and have good potential to win right now

what a sad way for Japan to end they have been solid for more then an hour then everything collapse. the second hald need to be watched again as all the juicy action were there but man, it sucked for japan to go hard for 93+mins. I knew it that after Fellaini scored the second Japan chances to win have gone it was a matter of time for Belgium to win because it's not a genius move by Martinez to play headers You have a huge height advantage, keep pumping balls into the box. It's common sense also Japan is not prepared to play extra 30 minutes againts that style of play or even on penalty kicks.
At the end Belgium survived. Hopefully its a wake up call for the Brazil. I expect an intresting game with a lot of goals from both sides especaily if both teams started playing offense from the start it's going to be hard to predict the winner but the winner between them i'm sure he will reach the finals.

Very true. Brazil need more of a consistent performance. On facing Belgium, it almost did not happen. Hahaha. But what a comeback from Belgium true "Red Devils style". Serious heartbreak for Japan. I am sure they felt that they could nick it in either extra time or penalties. But to be honest this has to be one of the most entertaining game of the tournament so far.

Im a bit of surprised here of the result. I thought Japan will take it but what a comeback did by Belgium. With their never say die attitude, I think they really got the attention of most dominating team.

Off topic but on the other hand, if Japan losses here, their basketball squad in FIBA Asia surprised the Australian squad. At least not completely a heartbreak after all although World Cup is much way important.

The best? thats kinda over expression that you got there. Brazil is a great team and they way they play they might advance to the final but that doesnt mean they are going to win it. Considering their consistency so far they do stand quite a chance if you compared it with the other team but world cup 2018 is more about surprise with top teams going down

What a weird world cup it has been this year, Argentina getting eliminated by France, Portugal eliminated, spain eliminated but luckily Brazil is still in game scoring 2 goals in the second half for securing a place in the quater finals.

Belgium vs Japan is going to be the next match and how everything has progressed so far i feel that Japan is going to win it but the match is going to go to extra time

yes it looks like Brazil will be facing Belgia, because Belgia will likely win the game against Japan. because Belgia is the champion of Group G who bagged 9 points, while Japan is only 4 points as runner-up in group H. so I am very confident that Brazil will be facing Belgia.

I don't think so, probably Eurocup for 2020 if he performs exceptionally well in Barca in the next 2 years, but this pretty pointless since as we know Messi doesn't perform as good in the Argentina team. I think it's over for Messi, definitely he will not be in 2022 world cup again, so 2020 Euro is last chance, same for Ronaldo, but Ronaldo already got the Euro, he is missing a world cup and this was his last chance.
