In general, their steps are correct in boosting their football popularity by bringing in star players in the league, but I have not seen what their next steps are like. one of them is youth development to be their future capital. I do not know how far they have developed youth development, what I know now is that they have national team players who mostly do not even get a place in the club. Of course this is a problem that they must quickly resolve and one of them is youth development which is a very important foundation for the development of football in a country.

Massive investment is being directed into the youth system in Saudi Arabia for the last few years. Four years back, Saudi Arabia Football Federation (SAFF) established the Mahd Sports Academy to train young players in various sports including football. I understand this is one of the largest of its kind in the world. And as a part of modernization, the SAFF launched a women's league in 2020. The country's population is very young, and this gives them an advantage as well. In short, I would say that football in Saudi Arabia is moving in the right direction, and the future looks bright.

You have a point, Saudi Arabia has a promising future with the rise, development through investments and improvements in its football infrastructure. There is no point in nations competing in every World Cup if they don't develop their football, this takes decades. There is a whole process of cultural adaptation, children need to grow up playing football as happens in brazil, which was once known as the country of football, exporting legends.

Yes you get my point. This may be off topic but I see Saudi Arabia trying to build and invest in tourism and entertainment to become one of the strongest economies in the world. Saudi Arabia and other middle eastern countries know they can't just keep getting rich by selling oil. Football is the biggest sport in the world so they invest in football even though as far as I know Saudi Arabia doesn't have a football culture in their country. This is the reason why now when the SPL has world elite players the local players are losing out and are bench players. But in the long term I think Saudi Arabia will have a football culture. And with the money they have they can build many international standard football schools and facilities which will help them accelerate to become one of the best countries in football.

The world is changing. Countries such as Saudi Arabia and Brazil are rapidly emerging as the new global economic superpowers. Saudis got the hosting rights for the 2034 tournament because none of the other nations came forward to bid. European countries are broke due to decades of radical left and socialist policies and the US is not that better either. Saudi Arabia was the only country that could afford to host the tournament. Obviously the old guard (especially those Europeans) are not going to like this reality.
Well it could be that since that projection is actually far in the future, the Europeana didn't see the need to rushing into such bid but would prefer having all the time to put their selves in order so they can finally think of possible chances of probably bidding again but for the Saudi, it's an opportunity they foresee as one that may not come again or may take roo long before it may come again so they have to make sure they grab it bay all means possible because they know the attention it will be bringing to them and how it could influence them economically in their bid to be one of the worlds top economic hub , even their football will aswell be influenced in a way that will give them that relevance.

And with the rise of Arab clubs signing expensive players like CR7 and Neymar, they are attracting a lot of talent and encouraging the current generation to follow and enjoy football more, which could result in a talented generation for the next World Cup tournaments.
Currently, SPL has become one of the elite leagues in the world because Saudi Arabia has brought in many world football legends, even some of them are great players from Europe who are in their prime such as Neymar, Benzema, Mane, Kante and many more. This is expected to be a competition that will make Saudi Arabian football better. But on the other hand, currently the fact is that most of the Saudi Arabian national team players are only filled by bench players from their clubs because they are unable to compete with top players from Europe. Of course this is not a good thing for their national team. But on the other hand, I think in the next ten or twenty years, Saudi Arabia has the potential to become one of the strongest football countries in the world. That can happen if they are consistent because I am sure that in the future there will be many young Saudis who will be interested in football.

European countries were not allowed to bid for the 2034 world cup at all.
The 2026 world cup will be held in North America and the 2030 world cup will be held in Europe, Africa and South America. Due to FIFA's rotation policy, countries from these continents couldn't bid for the 2034 world cup.
I really like this rotation because with change of policy now every continent have equal right of hosting this mega event, and we can also bring good increase in fan base which will surely help for the development of this game which is already touching new highs in last few years but still it's good chance for the Africa and South America which were not able to have hosting rights before this policy and power monopoly which were controlling all.

It is called the "WORLD" Cup and as the name implies, every country of the world is very eligible to host the tournament provided they have the social and economic power to do so. Asia as a continent have hosted the World Cup on just two occasions and that was in the 2002 by Korea/Japan and in the last edition that was hosted by Qatar which was 20 years later after the Korea/Japan. I don't find anything wrong with Saudi Arabia getting the 2030 hosting rights.
You are right in few things but still now it's never been easy to host any mega event specially FIFA Soccer World Cup because it's one of the biggest sporting event and it needs huge funds with many things which are not easy for any country to do so with this new format we can have good chance for few countries which are improving their structure and changing things can host event with the help of neighbouring countries.

We have few events which ended with good success and this could be surely great development even I believe Saudi Arab can host alone as well but if they are having co-hosts this will good chance for countries to have share and enjoy this without any big trouble.

I know that here we don't talk about the FIFA World Cup in Saudi Arabia. For me it's simply madness. In my opinion, these traveling tournaments are bullshit and they're just to put money in the pockets of those loan sharks who offer us football where they simply don't even know it and this is shit, sorry for the rant

Indeed, I think Morocco and Japan will be able to talk a lot in the upcoming 2026 World Cup. Both countries currently have a golden generation, and the majority of them play in top European clubs, so they are must definitely teams to watch. We certainly still remember Morocco journey in the 2022 World Cup, where they were able to reach the semi-finals before finally losing to France. This could happen again, especially if the performance of countries that usually appear dominant continues to decline, such as Italy, Belgium and Brazil. Personally, I hope to see Asian and African countries become more dominant forces in the World Cup in the future.
There seems to be a transformation in world football, where teams that used to not stand out in tournaments like the World Cup are now having the chance to showcase their talent to the world, as is the case with Marrocos and Japan.

Modernizing Saudi society and making Saudi Arabia a global sporting hub are two different things and I hope you know that. The goal is to get people to think that both things are one and the same. Because they sign Ronaldo and other players that have been former European players makes people think that they are aiming at becoming more modern, but the truth is that most things remain the same while these players can enjoy a lot of privileges. Or do you think the average woman in Saudi Arabia would be allowed to live the same life as Ronaldo's wife? Lol of course not, I don't even want to know what they would do with most of them. The deal is that Ronaldo improves their image and in exchange for that they make him richer and richer.
Every country or region having own plus and negative; Saudi Arab were tight closed country for centuries due to have Muslims holy lands now current generation is looking for change about few things just and it's never been easy, so their approach is bringing this modernizing through sports is completely justified because they are going on right path and have fair chances of passing through this easily without any problem their recent huge investments are going to help them in long run.

Even this has never been easy but still they are going into right direction Saudi Pro League is having strong bonds in soccer with hosting FIFA World Cup things could be on another level and their investments in Tennis and Cricket is surely going to have huge impact on their culture and policies for future.

But for the next World Cup and as a participator in this tournament, I don't think if can hope to see good performance from this team at all.
Saudi Arabia are in a downturn, they are not showing the football identity they usually show. Maybe the change of coach in a short time is the problem, or some of the players in the squad are not getting much playing time at club level as complained by their former coach, Mancini. Their latest defeat against Indonesia when they were in the World Cup qualifiers was something we could see directly. Many people who support them also complain about the unproductive attack line, scoring 3 goals in 6 games is clearly not good.

The current administration under Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud is focusing a lot on modernizing the Saudi society and one of his goals is to make Saudi Arabia a global sporting hub. As far as football is concerned, Saudi Pro League is now regarded as one of the strongest club competitions in the world. But that is not getting translated into the performance of the national team. It will happen eventually. By the time Saudi Arabia host the tournament in 2034, they will be one of the strongest teams from the AFC.

Saudi Arabia changed a lot in the last 2-3 years. They have a new ruler in this country who cared about women more than others. and now Saudi Arabia wants to have good performance and have a better football team they bought many good players and coaches from top teams and Ronaldo was one good example also they built many expensive stadiums however Saudi Arabia is Saudi Arabia and they are a traditional country and Muslims which can make problems for them if they really host the 203 World Cup. Recently I am following few teams which are doing good job and have good chance of going through into this event as outsider Morocco and Japan are teams to watch for surprises with few top teams are now heading for end of their glory days.
These two countries are countries that must be watched, and both are successful in their respective continents. Japan always gets positive results and they are also undefeated in the third round of the World Cup. I also agree about several big countries that are in a decline phase, so it's time for non-seeded countries to be able to develop and compete with other big teams.

May not be the same, but there is a lot of overlap between these two. Women's rights have improved by quite a lot in Saudi Arabia. It is a gradual process, but noticeable changes have been made. Obviously an ordinary woman in Saudi Arabia is still required to wear the Abaya while going out, but in recent times there have been revolutionary changes such as women being allowed into sports stadiums and lifting the prohibition on women drivers. Anyway, we are talking about the FIFA World Cup of 2034, and I am sure that by the time this tournament gets kicked off, Saudi Arabia will be an entirely different country compared to what it is right now.

After the groups for the qualifiers have been determined I can say our job is going to be really difficult. Because we can defeat Georgia and Bulgaria but the last team is going to be one of Spain and Netherlands. Both of these potential opponents are strong teams. Spain are the Euro 2024 champions. Netherlands also defeated us in the quarter finals of the same tournament.

But if you ask me to choose one I would go for Netherlands. Spain are way stronger than them.
