There are tons of scammers on telegram and it's 100% unsafe for newbies that knew too little about crypto investment, next time make sure you go through the project official website to find their real telegram channel link, anyone trying to PM you on telegram is 100% a scammer even if they used the project team pictures, you need to be extremely careful with telegram

There is a start for everything , so i just get first time scammed and hope last time.
Since few times i follow polkadot env and liked their projects especially polkastarter . it's like the ico's for projects to raise money . I wanted to participate to one of them and got whitelisted to superfarm ($super) to buy in the presale at a good price but sended 0.25 eth to wrong adress . yes i'm little bit dumb they made a clone of their official telegram channel and i get caught . usually i don't do that but we all do mistakes .

the adress of the scammer : 0xC88b5F4aaE1C8f2778DEF2257b6bAf1BA62E4B09

i hope he will die  with a cancer . i lost $447.83USD that's 50% of my humble portfolio and i worked hard to put this money in . i know that there is nothing i can do and i feel little bit down but that's life assholes are everywhere . Whitout this scammers cryptocurrency and the world would be better .

So just a little thought for me . good luck and get your money safe

Sorry to hear that things happen to you, it must be a big lesson for you. Forget about the ETH you lost because in the future your lost could be increased in USD.

Hope you learned a lesson for your bad experience. Yes to many scammers out there and we need to be very careful especially when we are sending  our hard earned money before pushing the send button conduct tripple check to make sure all informations are correct, true and coming from original project not to a clone scam one.
scammers are always looking for their victims in any way. no matter old people or new people. when there is an opportunity they will definitely use it to earn money. I've had experiences like you. and that makes me really stupid. but believe me, do not panic and immediately build a new plan to correct our mistakes.

It's ok it happens to the best . Just try not to FOMO into any Ico or don't follow any links. Go through twitter or the official website links . If in doubt pull out of the ico.

I am sorry for your loss; and i think this is as a result of poor research and information; please do well to gather more details next time. In telegram, no valid project would ask you for funds in telegram, and no admins would dm you for sales etc.  I hope you learn from your mistakes and make better decisions next time. If you miss out on private sale and public sale; you can always make purchases on the exchange after it is listed

I also had the same experience when I was beginning. Sometimes, we really have to go through things like that so we'll know what to do and what to avoid in the future. It's just so frustrating that you have lost your funds because of those scammers but don't worry because you'll still be able to work to earn money again while they're still serving their karma. Cheer up and learn from your mistakes.

Grieve your loss.
But, at least you can still be a savior angel for other people here if you want to provide scammer details too.
Since I joined the crypto community, telegram has indeed often become a hotbed for scammers to catch victims. That is why it is widely recommended to avoid telegram to make deals especially about big business.

Wish you great luck in the future.

I was scammed many years ago back when bitcoin was $20. I needed groceries. My bitcoin was earned by doing some web work for someone and since I didn't have a job at the time I figured I could get a gift card off of this very website. I had received a gift card from him once so I trusted him and then the second time he gave me a used gift card number then disappeared. Now I think back about how that one $20 bitcoin is now worth 50 grand and I really hope his wallet is missing. I could have really used that money right now.

We can't do anything, because all of that has been carefully planned by con artists who have been like ghosts who are always in cyberspace looking for the next victim,,My advice is now to learn more to be calm and not make decisions too quickly, especially if there are links that we don't know hang sending us via our social media or email..

Well, mistakes will give us a lesson to correct and be aware in the future. Ive been scammed, too by a particular person, too. Ive entrusted my fund with that person, probably a woman and gives me flowery words and make me trust her even more with those proofs she has shown me.

Just accept the fact that you lost that money. Since transactions are irreversible so you cant do anything abouy it except foe reporting his telegram account. I understand that you rarn thay money hard but moving on is the best thing to do. If their are losses, they will be upcoming gains double from how much you lose.

Wow it seems there's lot of people got scammed and send money to this address. Maybe people should start report and give a tag to this address on etherscan to prevent more people fell in the same hole.
Please share the instagram link to the OP.

It is a must to doble check the website, social media accounts etc before sending money to any project.
Stay safe.

you should double check the address before you send your ethereum buddy
and before joining any telegram channel you must go to offiicial website first, so you will go to the real channel from the project
regards
Your first advice doesn't make sense.
Even @OP send to the right address, it means OP is still send to the scammer address. This wouldn't solve the problem with OP case here.

I agree you should be more careful on who you are dealing with not on the address, be sure that the one you are going to send is the contract address, you have a warning like that on Uniswap exchange, because so many scammers are creating clone or fake coin to deceive sender so always check who you are dealing with and are you sending to the right coin or token.

400+ USD is a big amount of money, In our place, you can already buy a motorcycle with it. That's what scammers do, fool people who do not pay attention if the site, group, is legit or just clone, fake. So sorry for the loss.

And for the second advice I agreed with you, before join/chat in outside platform you need to check/validity the originality by ask or go in through their official website/service.

Just like if you want to trade in this forum, someone send you a PM in telegram he said he is XXX, don't be tricked. Ask him for confirmation with his BTT account in a PM here, if he can't do it it's a scammer or impostor.

It's only natural that you get frustrated by getting scams in the crypto industry. That's what happens if one is not careful in investing. In your case,
I've experienced the same thing. Make this a lesson, I do not advise you to keep investing in crypto, if you do not take the time to  always analyze
everything about the project and coins that will be your next portfolio. And very sorry for your loss.

Be patient, because there's nothing we can do. I hardly understand how you can be deceived and in what way they trick you while you are on their official telegram, or you do not pay attention to the original contract address of the project, so that your experience becomes our lesson.

We do have all the same experiences when we get first scammed where frustrations and anger can be felt all in all but there's no point if you do just simply stood still and wont move forward.

We need to learn up those mistakes even though we are confident that we are already knowledgeable but you shouldnt let your guard down.Always be wise and be aware on possible new modus

on where these scammers would use in upcoming times because they would always be having those new ways or techniques on scamming out people.
Always read and search up because this would really be a helpful one on saving up yourself and of course your own common sense should be on the work too.  Cheesy
