I believe that this was a unique opportunity for Neymar to interrupt his contract with PSG in advance, which would run until 2027.

Man United supporters would have loved to see Maguire leave this summer. Maguire not leaving might turn out to be a blessing in disguise because United has only two center-backs are the moment. Varane and Martinez are the only CBs Man United has now and if anything should happen to them who would play that role? Jones?
Maguire might be a very bad player but he's way better than Jones and he should be there than someone who is not a central defender.

That aside, Maguire doesn't want to leave. West Ham won't pay him the kind of money Manchester United pays him so I guess he prefers staying at United and seeing out his contract while making all the money he can. Everybody is only looking out for their best interest so I can't blame Maguire for wanting the best for himself.

Man United has Victor Lindelof and also Luke Shaw has been converted on several big games to serve as a Central defender, it is just that you haven't seen him doing that.
