100 million is now the usual price for a player who is clearly above average. It's time to get used to it. Moreover, taking into account the level of income of English clubs, and most importantly, the level of competition, when 7-8 teams claim the top 4 at once, I think this is just the beginning of a "dead spiral": the clubs are forced to spend more because otherwise they will fall out of European competition, but other clubs they also spend more (there are only 4 trips to the Champions League) and this destroys their budgets. Within a few years, I'm sure the Premier League will have to come to some kind of cap on either wages or the entire budget.
100 million is looking more like a regular fee for potential younger players this days. My only worry for this kind of arrivals to the premier is pressure to settle down fast. The fans and football loves create high expectations for this kinda of players and this way them down. Ten Hag has recently said he doesn’t want to sign players with huge amount or high wages because of the expectation that comes with.
I think Depay should definitely be kept by Barcelona. Because if they sell him as well then there won't be any striker left in the team except Lewandowski. I know that players like Ferran Torres could be used there from time to time but I don't think this would be a good idea for the team. They have already faced big difficulties in big matches even in times they had Lewandowski. I can't imagine what they would have done without a real striker there.
Atletico Madrid are rumoured with signing Depay after sending Felix on loan. But Barcelona should act wisely because they might not be able to spend any money on a transfer in this transfer window to fill his place.
Although it will be a bad to sell him off to Atletico Madrid because it will look like giving to direct rivals. We all know how the Suarez move went. But to be honest they need to let him go if they can’t offer him playing time. At his age he need to play more
