Their top 3 defenders left this season, it was Rudiger, Alonso and Christensen. So their defensive power would obviously be weak without the addition of new players. So it's natural that the team's performance is currently down where Chelsea are only able to win 2 times from their last 5 matches.

Aubameyang helped Barcelona last season can finish on second position standing but arriving Lewandowski make him difficult to get regular position what ever as central forward or Xavi Hernandez can't give space for him as winger position. Chelsea got no problem with their defense line, where Chelsea has a problem is in the midfield and the attacking line, Reason being that , 1.both covacic and Joginho are getting weak they're no longer living up to expectation, hence the presure will be on the defense line and it will look as if they are the problem but they are not, Joginho and Covacic are no longer creating those chances for the wingers and attackers/strikers to score as like before.2.while for the front line Chelsea was not having any good striker, who is always there to deliver (Timor wenner is a wasted investment), so it was majorly the wingers and sometimes defenders who were scoring the goals. Maybe with Aubameyang coming to play for Chelsea could change things for them.
With Aubameyang I am quite certain that they are going to improve. Chelsea is not a weak team, the players in the team are also not bad. They have proved themselves as individual players in the past. But for some reason, they are not performing up to the expectations in Chelsea.
With the team that Chelsea as I expected them to perform better in the last season. But they had problems in both scoring and defending goals. And they are not playing fluent football this season also. I think having Aubameyang on the team is going to give them the confidence and stability that they need. In this case, there are a number of names associated with Arsenal who are in almost the same position to fill the void left, but until now no one has been able to replace this position in the end.There are two things that I can catch here, the first is that they are already satisfied with their current condition or maybe they really can't bring in players until the closing deadline ends.

I am still doubting the ability of Aubameyang to change the goal-scoring challenge of Chelsea. Chelsea still needs another younger goal-scorer to back up the effort of the former Gabonese international.
