Many things in the transfer market did not benefit Chelsea, the players who were targeted even mostly chose Barcelona. In fact, from a financial point of view, Chelsea dominates over Barcelona. Turns out it's not all about finances. For example, Chelsea wanted Lewandowski, Rhapinha, Dembele to extend his contract, then Christensen was even free to transfer to Barcelona. Thinking about it so far in the pre-season Barcelona have been lucky with poor finances but still can fulfill the expected squad.
Marina would have handled all of those deals smoothly, who I blame for all of those failed deals is the new Chelsea's owner.
Looking at how they have failed, they will also find it difficult to cope in the Premier League. They found it difficult winning games during the Pre-season. Tuchel made a clear list of players he wanted but not all have been provided for the Chelsea squad. For me, I think Chelsea will find it difficult in the midfield. Defense looking solid but attacking players especially a nine is muchly needed.
Luck was not on Chelsea's side in the transfer market this season, I don't know what happened to Chelsea so it was very difficult to get the player he wanted. Surprisingly, every player Chelsea is targeting prefers to join Barcelona, even though, economically Chelsea is much better than Barcelona. As was the case with Raphinha, Lewandowski and Kounde, these three players will be paid more than Barcelona are offering, but the money from Chelsea seems to have no value in these three players.
Chelsea must immediately move to find other players to strengthen their team, While rivals Chelsea are very active in the transfer market, Liverpool, Man City and Arsenal have strengthened their teams with several new faces in their squad. If Chelsea is unable to sign players before the transfer window closes, there is no guarantee that Thomas Tuchel side can compete at the top of the table.
