Juventus looks getting easier to win the Scudeto this year. Alvaro Morata returned to working with Andrea Pirlo for the next three seasons after he agreed to wear the old lady's uniform. A very good purchase for Juventus rather than buying Luis Suarez or bringing in Edin Dzeko who is 34 years old. Compared to the two strikers, Alvaro Morata also has very good skills and quality in front of the opponent's goal. Can't wait for Alvaro Morata's action this season with Juventus after he managed to give Juventus the previous Scudeto title in the 2013/2014 season as a loan player from Real Mmadrid.

Juve is a retirement home, they love to sign players well into their 30’s don’t they Cheesy
I wish another team would stand up to Juve & fight for the Serie A title, it's so boring when the same team wins every year. Serie A is the least competitive top league in Europe.

I think De Ligt is the only youngster they bought the last decade  Grin

Morata is not official yet.

Do we have any medical problems? Who knows.
Do we have any problem with Atletico? Who knows.
Does Atletico have problem with his new attacker? Probably.

Morata is announced from Juventus already.

He made a long loan deal with them so officially he belongs to Atletico Madrid.
I don't know why they chose to make this kind of deal... He could make a transfer to Juventus and not go on Loan...

That being said, Barcelona have pulled through with big money moves for Griezman and Coutinho in recent times, so even if they are to sign Virgil, I do not think the money is going to be the problem, the only reason why this deal isn't possible is because Virgil is having a perfect time at anfield and Barcelona are a bit unstable at the moment, but I can't rule it out from happening in the future.

Are we talking about Barcelona, the club who had to back off from a transfer of Memphis Depay from Lyon because they have no money?! A quote from Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas: "Barca was suffering a lot from the COVID crisis and had no possibility of making an offer." (Source ) Another article where Koeman confirmes that Barca is too broke for that deal: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-8738385/Barcelona-boss-Ronald-Koeman-admits-afford-buy-Memphis-Depay-Lyon.html

People seem to overestimate Barca standing and it looks like the financial situation at the Catalans is worse than the public imagined. If they can't afford 25 million for Depay, how on earth should they be able to sign players like van VVD or Salah?!

I’m surprised Atletico would want to let Morata go unless he’s unhappy in Spain. Suarez is great, I loved him at LFC but he’s old now.
He will do great if he goes to Atlético Madrid. I am surprised by the turn of events thou. I thought he would be out of Spain if he was to move. As for Morata, the only good time he had was when was in Italy so I will not be surprised if he is headed back that way.

Suarez was really close to Juve but the problem was that they wanted to take him as an EU player.
Thanks to his wife, Suarez has the right to apply for Italian citizenship, but on the condition that he passes the Italian language test.
Suarez took a test in Italy a few days ago and after that a huge scandal broke out because it was revealed that he cheated on the test and did not know Italian.
In addition, the procedure for obtaining Italian citizenship turned out to be very long and complicated, so Juve gave up on Suarez and chose Morata.
That, in short, is the main reason why this big transfer failed.

Meanwhile, Mendy's heading for Chelsea from Rennes and having his medical. He's going to fill in for Kepa as their goalkeeper.

The boss revealed that Edouard Mendy was currently undergoing a medical examination in anticipation of a switch from Rennes.

‘He’s having a medical as we speak,’ said Lampard at his pre-match press conference on Tuesday afternoon. ‘Subject to that being okay later on, he will become our player at that point.

‘As far as I’m aware, as long as he passes his tests before he travels, he will be tested with us on Thursday collectively as a team and if that is negative then he will be available to play.’

Personally I think Kepa needs to take a break. He and the rest of Chelsea know at this point that he's not doing well saving goals, and Liverpool took advantage of that last match with them. It's reasonably safe to predict matches against Chelsea with Kepa as the goalkeeper will end with the other team having at least one goal.

Of course, tell me any club on the planet where Van Dijk is not desirable? Why is Barcelona so special here?
I am not fan of Liverpool, but why would a player(VVD in this case) want to leave a great club with a great atmosphere and going to club with fully ruined relation? Plus, they haven't money for this transfer, they haven't money for his salary. their behavior towards until recently the most important players in the club it’s embarrassing to say the least. why would anyone want to come into something like that.
I don't think Barcelona can sign Virgil for now, but don't forget that despite any internal problems in Barcelona's hierarchy, it's still a dream club for almost every football player (and that will included VVD). Virgil has been one of the best signings Liverpool have made in a very long time as he solved all their defensive problems and they would surely not be losing him to any club, not even Barcelona anytime soon.

Maybe you are right, but this is the past. Barca is a dream club mostly for Latinos players, because of similar language and way of life. So it's easy for them to adapt.
And yes, Barca haven't money for expensive players. Especially now where everyone suffers huge losses cause by COVID crisis. they let go for free Vidal and Suarez, it's for sure not because they are bad players, but they had a huge salary.
Remember my words, Barca in the post-Messi era will be something like A.C. Milan, and it will take them a long time to recover. unless their school create new players like Xavi and Iniesta, but they have also disrupted this and it seems like an impossible scenario.

Wijnaldum and Van Dijk would be nice for Barcelona. Maybe they can make a package deal :p

Barcelona are broke, they are said to have huge debts plus why would anybody trade in Liverpool for Barcelona now, maybe a number of years ago but not any more. These things go in cycles & atm Liverpool have a higher standing in European football than Barcelona.

Barca are in transition & need to build again.

It's actually really good money for a player who we all expected would be much better than he turned out to be. His name still carries some of the glitter so in my opinion Atleti would be wise to get rid of him, take Suarez for a year and make a plan on how to replace him long-term. It's funny though, because Atleti bought Morata while he was on loan from Chelsea, that loan expired in June but they had already paid for the transfer in 2019. The fee was 60 mil euro Grin

It will be interesting to follow Primera this season, a lot of squad changes happening at top clubs.

Remember, Morata will be on loan for one year, he will have an option for extending the loan for another year or an option to buy him.
He can will go back to Atletico in 1 year or 2 if they decide not to buy him.
That's correct but with Juventus in search for a striker and also interested more in Morata than Suarez and Dzeko they will definitely buy him (Morata) cause he make a impact in previous contract with the club.

Update: Suarez was announced cheating on the Italy passport exam.

Morata is back at home.. but Suarez after all maybe not going to Barca.

After leaving Juventus Morata is struggling to return back to top performance.
He didn't make and superb games neither with Chelsea nor with Atletico Madrid.
I hope that he is going to be resurrected while playing along with Cristiano. He is very young and talented and possibly this is his last chance on a big club to prove that he is still valuable.

Yeah, but these loans are usually strctured in a way that you have to buy the player. For example, it's a loan wit an obligation to buy after playing 10 games or so.
It's just a thing to avoid the FFP rules - in most cases at least. I can't imagine Atletico loaning him for peanuts and risking he comes back 2 years older with much less resale value.
It's possible though - just saying I think it's a buy deal structured to be a loan deal to help with FFP.

Also a fan of Wijnaldum it seems, and if Liverpool can't keep hold of him maybe he comes, so you could be right. I'm not 100% sure myself he would fit in the team, but if this is what it takes to rebuild, then I guess this is what it takes.

Last about this is that Wijnaldum will be staying in Liverpool this season and then probably be leaving on a free transfer.

Koeman is just a big fan of Depay, we noticed that already in the National team. Let's see what Depay can do if the transfer takes place. He would be the second Dutch guy in the team. Will we see another team with a lot of Dutch players like in the 90's?

Semedo to Wolves would hurt us a little though I think. Already we will miss Suarez and Vidal, who, really were the ones left with any heart to fight in that team.
