I'd prefer we brought Thiago and kept Wijnaldum, but I'm not sure what's the problem with his contract and why it's taking so long for them to agree on it.

Bayern are still in the CL & he’s still their player. Maybe they don’t want to discuss anything with any club until after the CL is finished.

Gini is a good player but surly Thiago is much better? I didn't watch Thiago much since he is in a Bayern but if he still plays like he used to, he will have much bigger impact on creating chances and Liverpool game with the ball. Don't know how good is Thiago when defending, that middle three in LFC played very good defense and player like Thiago could possibly disrupt the stability of that defensive block.

I guess Liverpool is now big/strong enough that they have to shift for a bit more creativity and attacking in their midfield.

I feel Thiago would be an improvement over Wijnaldum. Gini really is the engine and his workrate is terrific, he also has a knack of scoring big goals. However, he's got a single direct assist in 2 seasons.

Thiago is a great pressing player, his quality on the ball is superior to any Liverpool midfielder and is the complete player. I'd prefer we brought Thiago and kept Wijnaldum, but I'm not sure what's the problem with his contract and why it's taking so long for them to agree on it.
Liverpool have many midfielders from Jordan Henderson, Nnaby Keita, Wijnaldum adn Fabinho but I think is not have good place for Thiago Alcantara to be starting eleven on Liverpool team squad, they have most competitive midfielder right now and Liverpool looking for striker on their team to be partner for Salah.

Maybe he wants assurances of first team football. He sees the transfer rumors and has rightly concluded that he could be a bench warmer next season, especially if they bring Thiago. Henderson is a captain and has had an unbelievable season, Klopp also praised him several times and I think he will be before Wijnaldum in pecking order. Fabihno is probably in front as well if injuries permit. So Gini has to already share minutes with Keita, Ox, Milner and if they bring Thiago it could get too crowded soon.

Dida has returned to AC Milan to work as a first-team goalkeeper coach. I remember him, an outstanding goalkeeper.

This is good news for Milan fans. Dida has a good ability as goalkeeper, when Donnaruma is under his leadership, I'm sure Donnaruma can become a great goalkeeper. In addition, this is an opportunity for young players to get input, advice and stories from Milan legends who contributed to the team to win the Champions League, Serie A, Coppa and other trophies.

Nelson de Jesus Silva or better known by the name of Dida is indeed officially a goalkeeper coach for AC Milan, this is very good news.
I always remember Dida when playing for AC Milan, when Dida became AC Milan's goalkeeper many titles were successfully obtained.
So the right decision made by Milan's management by recruiting Dida as goalkeeper coach, Milan should have done this earlier. It's no
problem being late than never. I am sure that by joining Dida Donnaruma's abilities will increase and Milan defense is expected doesn't
easily concede goals.

I hope we sign Thiago, I think he’s brilliant. I have a feeling we’ll let him slip away though, our owners don’t usually like to spend big wages on older players. He’s 29 but it doesn’t fit with our usual signings.

Same here, but I feel as if he's our replacement pick if they don't agree on terms with Wijnaldum. That one is already taking far too long, if he does not want to sign just sell him and replace him.
I know Gini has been important but if we stall with this, somebody else will pick Thiago up (probably PSG) and we'll have Wijnaldum with 1 year on his contract.

Transfer Market The latest news and rumours:

Manchester United intend to pay 120 million euros for Jadon Sancho, but not all at once. Manchester continues the tradition of large and expensive transfers.
Barcelona are ready to give Ansu Fati a new contract with a pay rise and a vastly more expensive release clause. The new release clause will be around 400 million euros. Barcelona are obviously learning from their experiences and do not want the Neymar case to be repeated.
Bayern Munich have made clear that they will not fight Chelsea to sign Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz.
Dida has returned to AC Milan to work as a first-team goalkeeper coach. I remember him, an outstanding goalkeeper.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is waiting to see what Arsenal do in the transfer window before making a decision on his future. What will he decide in the end? Arsenal, Manchester United, Barcelona or Inter?
Arsenal are keeping an eye on Ivan Rakitic's situation at Barcelona but it seems that Rakitic would rather stay in Spain.

Why do we think of "break" when it comes to managers and so forth because they are getting paid a lot of money? I mean you do not expect a lot of people working in the world to take a break a year because that would mean how could they find the money to take a break for a year and they have to keep working until they retire, but when it comes to managers they could take a break because they are rich?

I feel like this is more than that, my father in law is 77 years old and dude has enough money in his retirement fund to retire twice, he has saved up for 60 years now (started working at 16) and yet he doesn't stop, he still goes to work, because he can't stop, this pandemic made him so bad as well psychologically, dude just likes to work and not just stand idle. Hence I think some people may not take a year off, it is not in their character.

Anything new on Sancho to Man Utd or has it gone quiet on that now? I guess they could be working on the structure of any potential deal in secret with BVB.

Bournemouth Coach Eddie Howe has left by mutual consent now what is next for him where to go.
https://twitter.com/bet365/status/1289655226744467456?s=20

Frankly, i think it is time for Eddie Howe to take a short break, and review his antics and tactics, Bournemouth struggled this season mainly because he tried to set up his team differently to attack not be pragmatic as usual but it backfired; because the attacking prospects and midfield line he brought fumbled or perhaps the players could not get grips of the change in tactics sooner. Relegation struggles are huge and Bournemouth could be thee for a long time.

He was there 8 years, he should probably have an extended break & relax with his family. He did well at Bournemouth, they don’t have a lot of money & never had a squad deep in quality. I don’t think he’ll struggle to get a job when he’s ready but I’d advise him to have time out.

I think he did will too..  For what he had at Bournemouth.  I hope to see him back in the EPL if one of these clubs give their manager the sack next season.

Potential clubs he could go to could be Aston Villa, Brighton and maybe Crystal Palace.

I think so too. Thiago could spice up our midfield and would link up well with Fabinho and Hendo but not sure Liverpool would get to sign him. Right now, as much as I would want us to get a creative midfielder, I just want us to get a solid defender since Lovren already left for Zenith and Matip is being linked with a move to PSG. We need more the central defence position more competitive.

Klopp did say a few weeks ago that we not see big signings from Liverpool in the transfer window https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/liverpool/klopp-defends-liverpool-squad-and-suggests-summer-transfers-just-not-possible-a4491331.html

Thiago could be a cheap signing, though, would add more creativity to the midfield, but i still think Liverpool should prioritize signing a quality but cheap attacking player to help rotate the front three next season

Transfer rumours:

United are hoping to use Chris Smalling, as part of a swap deal for Inter Milan's  Milan Skriniar. Manchester is active in the market again, as it's every year.
They are also interesting in Gabriel Magalhaes, player in Lille.
Arsenal will offer Gabon striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, 31, a £250,000-per-week three-year contract later this week. Will that be enough to keep him at the club?
Did Liverpool beat Paris SG in the race for Thiago Alcantar?

some transfer odds thx to Sky Bet, do you guys think will be a done deal very soon?

Coutinho to Arsenal @1.50
Can't see this happening unless two of Arsenal's current attacking trio leave.

Arsenal coach is determined to keep his best player Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Is that realistic?
Yes, it is. Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke sanctions new three-year deal for Aubameyang after FA Cup [£250,000-a-week contract]

Rumors:

- Aubameyang wants Arsenal to sign Dembele [source]
  • Can't see this happening.

- Arsenal is after Diego Carlos [source]
  • A tough one worth fighting for. 50-50 chance.

- Arsenal preparing to axe nine first-team players

- Wilfried Zaha to Arsenal [source]
  • Only if Auba leaves.

Aubameyang is not going to leave the club so Zaha will be very difficult to sign to Arsenal.
If they left Auba leave they are truly idiots as he is their best player in the team right now and he is the one that gave them the title of the season.
The good thing is that Arsenal is on search of signing new players.
