Very quiet in the transfer window so far. No big deals done yet really but I suppose it’s only 8 January, lots of time left for teams to negotiate & complete deals.
Yeah, it's very unlikely that we'll see a big signing so early, we'll probably have to wait until the end of the month.

- Pepe to FC Porto done deal.

- Bayern Munich have offered 40m for Hudson-Odoi. Chelsea could accept the offer.

- Iborra (Leicester) to Villareal done deal.

- Roma keen on Thiago Mendes (Lille).

- Chelsea very close to signing Nicolo Barella (Cagliari).

Some new transfers/rumours:

- Bayern Munich keen on Hudson-Odoi (Chelsea)

Hudson-Odoi is a great player. Chelsea should not leave him go as they have problems in the attacking part right now and he can contribute a lot in their endeavors to get a place for the Champions League next year. They can send them on loan but he is very talented and Chelsea should not make the same mistake as they did with Romelu Lukaku.

He’s very, very young. His career could still to either way, he needs to be at a club where he will play. You can’t develop as a young player if you’re rotting on the bench. I hope he makes the right decision.

I can't see how you think he is going to play in Bayern and not in Chelsea. Bayern has a full squad right now and I believe there are more chances of getting benched if he moves to Munchen. Chelsea is in a worse position and they have to reform their squad if they want to be competitive again and fight for the EPL next year.

There has been a lot of clubs interest in him because he made so much progress in the league. Bayern Munich continue to follow Hudson-Odoi as they offer the Chelsea winger a second offer of 33 million euros. I don't know why chelsea want to sell this guy? I mean, hudson is a great player. Like what you've said, chelsea shouldn't make the mistakes again.

According to several reports Zidane has an agreement with Juventus for the next season no matter the results of Allegri in this term.
I read some interesting statistics yesterday that Allegri has better results in the CL than any other active manager currently - including Zidane.

Do you think Zidane is overrated as a manager? He did start from the top, taking over Real Madrid who were already very strong with an unbelievably strong squad.

I believe he is overrated. RM was playing like a machine already and from what he learned from Ancelotti he managed RM to stay that way for a couple of years. (which is a big win btw) I am not saying he is a bad coach it is not possible but we don't know if he really deserved to be the coach of RM.

We'll see how good he really is if he starts working either with ManU or Juve.
Agree with your statement, I would like to see him work with a team that is doing very average at the moment (I am talking Manchester United  Wink). Real Madrid was already the best team in the world before he came, now Madrid 's form is poor but this is also due to Cristiano Ronaldo leaving, along with some other players aging.
On the other hand, Juventus has a good chance to go far again in the Champions League and that is without the help of Zidane. I fancy Juventus or Barcelona to win the Champions League this season.

The newest reports close to the Juventus management say that Juventus will allow their manager Allegri to choose his future starting from the next season. If he wants to continue as Juventus manager he will still be the manager for next season. If he believes that his stay with the club has come to an end he will be allowed to leave for Real or Man U next season. In that case Zidane is the candidate who is likely to take over.

Diego Godin has apparently accepted a contract with Inter Milan. His deal with Athletico Madrid runs out at the end of this season so he is free to negotiate a contract elsewhere. Even if he is 32/33 he is still an excellent defender in my eyes and could bring a lot of quality to Inter.

I think he's a decent manager, he's probably not among the top managers in the world even though he accomplished a big feat by winning the CL 3 times in a row, but I think he gained a lot of experience in Spain so he might be ready to manage another top team like Juventus.

Latest transfer rumours:

- Fabregas (Chelsea) close to signing with Monaco.

- AC Milan signs Lucas Paquetá (Flamengo) for €35m.

- Jason Puncheon (Crystal Palace) to Huddersfield done deal.

- Arsenal keen on Denis Suarez (Barcelona). The player could arrive to The Gunners on loan until the end of the season.

- Rabiot (PSG) to Barcelona on free transfer in the summer almost done deal.

I think in current football in a case of big teams where top players are coming coach has to be more manager than coach.Coach will not teach players to play they know in that case coach needs to find way to take the best fro m players let that play his best
Morinho was often disturbing them
Personal relation between coach and players are important and between coach and club

I think too much blame and praise is placed on managers.  Ultimately the game depends on the players and the coach won't do much to change the outcome.  Anytime a team is going through a rough patch the fans and media are looking to fire the manager instead of blaming the players.

I'm never really one to look strictly at results when talking about a manager's capacity and ability. Solksjaer now weirdly being maybe considered despite his past terrible record, before delivering almost instant results with a team that is significantly better. Almost the reverse with others who excel when working with scraps (Ranieri and Leicester?) or with hungry players (Klopp maybe?).

I love Zidane as a player and person, but yeah to be honest I'm not convinced he's my guy for management. Real's been doing well, under different managers. Different styles. Zizou still got a lot to prove, he was really ushered into the role at Real... from sporting director, to assistant coach, then managing the reserves.

So yeah he was good, but he was groomed into Real... can't say how he'll perform diving into a new team.

I believe Barcelona desperately need a a player in the caliber of Adrien Rabiot to strengthen the central midfield and enhance their defense capabilities if they are going to be winning more silverware going forward. I think they are already strong win attack and their problems lies with the defense and partly with the midfield so lets hope they seal this deal and we will observe how the team will fare.

Rabiot is very overrated. He has a bad mentality and if he goes to Barca, I predict he will stay on the bench.
In other news, it seems like Marseille are after Mario Balotelli once again. Even though Marseille's coach and manager aren't fund of him, the president of the club really wants to sign him, especially after failing to lure him to the club last summer. Balotelli hasn't scored a single goal for Nice this season.

Right so Liverpool strange move Solanke to Bournemouth. I wonder if the Gerard/Rangers/Liverpool linkup had anything to do with replacing the gap in Bournemouth. Defoe only had 3 starts so a wiser one would be Solanke to Rangers but I guess Stevie knows what he's doing.

Pulisic going to Chelsea didn't make me blink any eyes. That most people aren't asking about Fekir also I guess just shows how our benchwarmers are making a strong case for themselves (Shaqiri I guess the best of them lot). I'm still waiting for Klopp to surprise me though... so far the surprise is Clyney to Bournemouth but I guess he needs to be match fit and he'll do well there.
