Liverpool should make the right decisions and not regret their actions later. Sallah wage is big but he is also doing big things for the club, and he deserves it. Last season the Suadis made an offer to Sallah, but he refused it because he still loves playing for Liverpool and believes in them. It will be a big disappointment to him if his contract is not renewed or they cut down his wage.
Since being recruited by Liverpool in 2017, he has played 372 matches with them and created more 227 goals, although currently Salah age has reached 32 years, but his market value is still very high reaching almost 55 million euros which indicates that he is still very prime and is considered one of the dangerous strikers when compared to other players his age, Liverpool must of course take a firm stance at this time in determining the extension of his contract, although he is a player with a high salary but he can still repay Liverpool trust through consistent performance and his ability to score goals to win each of their matches.
55 million euro for a player like Salah shows that he is not on his prime, I mean even with the same exact stats, if he was just 27 years old right now, he would have been 100+ million euro easily, the only reason he is only worth 55 million is his age, because what he does with his talent and performance would have been one of the best valued player in the world if he was younger.
I still understand not wanting to sign him though, I know that people do not understand that, but as someone who plays football manager, I know the fear of signing an older player, who could start to drop on performance and the deal most likely won't be just for one year extension, Liverpool knows that won't be accepted. I think, Liverpool realizes, there is no way they can afford to give him a 3 year or longer contract and Salah would only accept that, which is the whole thing gets stuck, and I agree that giving someone that long of a contract at this age would be a mistake.
