It's no more news England now officially has a head coach for the England senior men's team in the person of Thomas Tuchel, a development that will be officially unveiled tomorrow noon hour. A German by decent probably the third none English man to head the English team so far. A contract valid till 2026.

Not a bad signatory for the three loins but am sure there's gonna be a few controversy with this man not being an English native but German, and I wonder why the English FA chosed to test new waters outside the shores of England at this critical period. Wonder how the voices of fans will echo when England and Germany meet in international competition like the world cup... Can't wait for that to happen.

Congratulations TT.

Yeah it is finally official!  Wink

https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/c79n0ndelgwo

But it is said that he is going to start his work from January 1, 2025. Until then Lee Carsley is going to continue to take care of the team in the remaining two games of the Nations League.

I think this is exciting news. Because I really like Tuchel as a manager. I still can't forget the way he made Chelsea win the Champions League title in his first season already.  Roll Eyes

I never liked Southgate's system. It doesn't matter they qualified for a couple of finales in the past. He should have won a single trophy at least. I think Tuchel is likely to start a much better era there.

i literally didn't believe any of the rumors that came out earlier, because we all know how well the English football is run, and employing a German sounded too good to be true. I didn't confirm it from Fabrizio, but from the official X account of the England men's football team. Still surprised though.

Same thought I had even before he was appointed. From what was posted on the official X account, it seems he will take over from 2025. But there is one more international break in November, so we might not be seeing him in the next international break that's coming up in November. I hope he does well for England. It's good to have tuchel back in England.

Better days are close

Previous news was that Pep Guardiola still hadn't thought about training the England national team, he was still focused on his own team, while the FA still needed a coach to fix his team, so only Tuchel was unemployed so he took this job, at least he was not too bad even though he was fired twice for not being good at leading his club.

If I'm not mistaken Haaland has just renewed his contract clause with Man City? Is that close to 100M?
It is still difficult for Barcelona to recruit Haaland while Man City needs him.
It would be a miracle if Barcelona were to buy Haaland. Because Barcelona is a team struggling with financial problems right now. In fact, I remember that they sent İlkay Gündoğan away from the team because of this. I don't think they wanted to send him away and buy Haaland. Because Haaland is a player who could be a huge burden on the team with his transfer fee and contract fee. To tell the truth, Haaland could play for Manchester City long enough to finish his career.
No I don't think a player like Haaland would like the idea of finishing his career in Manchester city. He is still very young and there is every possibility that he is going to leave Manchester city someday. The best that Manchester city could do is keep him for at least the next 5 years. But at some point the offers will come in for Haaland. Don't be surprised that Haaland will end up in Barcelona someday. Barcelona won't be broke forever. Now that they are reviving the Lamasia academy and they are getting good players from there that's currently doing well for them. It won't be too long Barcelona will have enough money to sign a player like Haaland.

Just imagine if Pep Guardiola go back to Barcelona to manage in the future, don't you think that he can easily influence Haaland to join him there? And Pep Guardiola recently said that Barcelona is the team of his heart. If Pep and Haaland sign new contract at Manchester city, there is every possibility that they will seek to leave after the expiration of their contracts. Even without that, Haaland will not end his career at Manchester city. I don't see that happening.
You are right here Erling Haaland will definitely not end his football career with his present club Manchester City. I believe he will definitely leave the citizens some day in the future. Erling Haaland will probably play in Real Madrid or Barcelona before hanging his boot, even when Messi was playing for Barcelona every one thought Messi will end it in Barcelona due to how committed he has been in the team from academy no one believes he will leave Barcelona but at end he ended his contract with Barcelona and left the team to play for PSG before going for the MLS league where he is currently playing for inter Miami Fc.

So the case of Erling Haaland wont be different he didn't start his football career with Manchester City so he can't end it with Manchester City, he will definitely sign a new contract with a new football club someday.

Congratulations Thomas Tuchel on becoming England's coach, Thomas Tuchel is going to be a very good coach for England because he knows how to coach a squad to win a big trophy, I think England's performance is going to change very soon because I believe Thomas Tuchel is going to make the team performance look good, although I don't want Manchester United to sign Thomas Tuchel as their new coach after I was hearing that Manchester United want to sign Erik ten Hag for me I don't like the idea because Manchester united is a team that want a coach that can build the the team from the poor performance they are facing now.

From my observation I believe Thomas Tuchel is going to succeed because he can handle top players, although he didn't achieve good things in Bayern Munich and I didn't blame him for that because even now Bayern Munich still finds it difficult to win some games, Thomas Tuchel is going to make England perform well it also depends on how he wants to use the player's because as a coach you have to know how to use your player's to win a game, I wish Thomas Tuchel all the best as a new England coach.

Haaland have a contract until 2027 with Manchester City and if we sees that he is quite comfortable in manchester city now, so of course Barcelona's chances of signing Haaland will be very small, especially since so far Haaland has never issued a statement stating that he wants to leave for another team, the possibility of getting Haalaand of course is still there for Barcelona if they are indeed ready to redeem his release clause which reaches almost 180 million euros or indeed wait for him as a free player in 2027 Grin, it is undeniable that currently financial problems are Barcelona's main problem in recruiting players, although they still have an attraction for star players but we have to admit that if finance is the main factor in their failure to recruit that the players, I think what happened to Dani Olmo some time ago who could hardly play due to La Liga regulations, It should be a lesson for Laporta to improve their finances first and then buy players.
As long Man City still relies heavily on Haaland and is still with coach Guardiola, it is very difficult for Barcelona to get Haaland. On the one hand, Haaland is a professional player who thinks about his career. So it is impossible for him to join a team that has poor finances, of course his career will not develop. Even though his contract will expire, of course there will be other teams that have better finances to get Haaland and Barcelona chances are getting very small. And I think later in the 2026 season, as long as everything is fine, of course Man City will also keep Haaland and extend his contract.
Since Manchester City added him to their squad, he has been in a constantly improving form chart. He is one of the best strikers currently active in the world, perhaps the best. Now, considering Barcelona's financial difficulties, a Haaland transfer can only be a dream. I am sure they will not have the money to meet Haaland's demands and transfer fee. The Premier League seems like a possible path for Haaland right now, but I think he may go to Real Madrid in the future.

Manchester United is reportedly eyeing 3 Bayern Munich players in January, Ten Hag seems not satisfied with the squad he currently has. The three players are winger Leroy Sane, currently he has only played for 32 minutes in 6 Bundesliga matches under Kompany's tutelage he does not get trust, returning to the Premier League might be his best choice, next is Goretzka who experienced the same thing not getting many playing minutes even though we know he really wants to stay at the Allianz Arena but currently he does not fit into Kompany's tactical scheme.
And the last Alphonso Davies, although he is a core player, his contract will end if the management does not extend it, of course that is Man Utd's opportunity to bring him to Old Trafford for free.
Currently the Red Devils are monitoring the 3 players.
The question is whether this is the right step because Manchester United's problem is Ten Hag himself.

Tuchel's addition to the team has only made the England side more dangerous and stronger than the last Europa cup tournament in which the team performed well.
Am sure we would get to see the three lions reaching the finals of the 2026 world cup and if possibly, lifting it because Tuchel  has the experience and technical know-how to shepherd the England side that has great young star players.
Totally disagree with it. I'd rather see this as an experiment from FA. I was hoping they hold out for Guardiola at all costs, but they were become impatient. It's quite sad to me. FA couldn't find a proper English manager. Then, they chose Tuchel instead of looking for a better English one. They seem very rushed to hire a new manager.

I'm not a fan for this recruitment. And i think it's not gonna work.
It's high time you guys keep your sentiments aside and embrace the pace that has been set. We don't don't know if  Pep Gardiola may do fine with the team just because he's doing great with Manchester city it's not a certainty. There were a pool of interested profiles for the position to which T.T was the best of them all. IMHO, T.T is a great coach with good quality results in his coaching career. With the little moments he spent with the English club Chelsea he was able to win the World Club Cup after giving them the champions League trophy in 2021.

If he wasn't that good I don't think the FA CEO Mark Bullingham and his team would be thrilled in giving him the job. Because you ain't a fan doesn't mean it not gonna work fine for him. You ain't more professional than the England FA who picked him amongst other profiles.

Before the Euros we had a contingency plan and outlined exactly the qualities we would be looking for in a coach. Since Gareth resigned, we have worked through the candidate pool, meeting a number of coaches and evaluating them against that criteria. Thomas was very impressive and stood out with his vast expertise and his drive. source

Real Madrid desire to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold has put Liverpool at a disadvantage, especially as they have yet to convince the player to extend his contract. The main reason why Real Madrid want to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold is because they are in dire need of an experienced player to guard the defensive area, besides his contract will end next June, he is also still young (26 years old). He can also play in several positions and has the ability to build attacks from the back by dribbling the ball. Real Madrid could poach him from Anfield as a free agent if Liverpool fail to persuade him to extend his contract or fail to sell him in the January transfer window.
This is a very serious case; Trent Alexander Arnold will now be the deciding factor of this deal, if he really wants to join Madrid, then it will be easier for Madrid to get him since Liverpool under Arne Slot are yet to convince him to sign a new contract, they have to sell him for some money now or he will be leaving as a free agent next season.
If Arnold leaves Liverpool January, it will affect their title ambition because he is an important player in their squad, and to get his replacement will be difficult even though they will have other players that are playing his position.
Liverpool already have amazing start of their season against all odds which give them good boost under Arne Slot, but now they are having one problem they are going to lose their three top players at the end of this season which will give them huge setback even we are having 10 weeks with in January they can start talks about extension, but fans are feeling not comfortable specially Trent Alexander Arnold who is key player for them as mostly Liverpool fans want him at the Anfield because he is young and have good potential to do things for the club in coming years.

While Real Madrid interest is having his own impact but mostly are feeling he will be stayed at this club with increased salary because he is having good time with many ups and downs, but now things are looking much better for him because he can do better performance in coming years while he will be here and Arne Slot will be also having good start with he will be able to keep things at the top level which is most wanted thing by fans of Liverpool.

Barcelona can still get him next season if they want him, but Hensi Flick once said that they are also good without him, that they have good players that can play in his position and his team will do everything fine even without him; this statement was after the deal collapsed before the beginning of the season.

Nico Williams is a good playmaker, he has potential just like Lamin Yamal of Barcelona, and if two of them happened to be in the same team, they will play well because their bond is strong, and they seem to understand each other.
Nico is making this statement to save his position, and not to make it look obvious that he is desperate to leave the team, but we all know that he has dream to play for either Barcelona or Madrid which I believe will happen some days it's just a matter of time.
In addition, Barcelona also have to balance their spending if they want Nico Williams, actually the club also wants this player, it's just that the club is not ready for big spending because Barcelona itself last season also recruited Dani Olmo and Nico Williams also said that he wanted to stay at Athletic Bilbao and did not show interest in going to Barcelona.

Yes, I know he is a great player and might fit the atmosphere in Barcelona because there are Lamine Yamal there who might make it easier for him to adapt, but unfortunately for now Barcelona doesn't really need this player, they are still good enough even without recruiting Nico Williams as you said at the beginning.

It's in the news that Thomas Tuchel has agreed to be the new permanent coach of England. The German will become the third foreign manager of the three loins if a deal is signed. So, the possibility of Pep Guardiola coaching England is approximately zero. He might decide to extend his contract because he is achieving so much with Manchester City.

It seems Joan Laporta is desperate to bring Erling Haaland to Barca. My question is, does the club have the money to bring him and also cover his wage? I also doubt City will allow him to leave.

When Tuchel got fired the last time when he coached Chelsea, I think they were not doing all that bad, were they? Wasn't he sacked because the investor came into play and wanted Graham Potter instead? I remember that the decision was at least controversial as the season before Tuchel won the Champions League with Chelsea.
Based on some articles I've read, it's not that simple. For example, Goal suggested[1] there were many factors for his dismissal, including bad results on his last 7 games, communication issues with the players and the board, Tuchel's inability to accept more responsibilities including managing the transfer window, etc. Remember to take all of this with a grain of salt since some of these factors were attributed to rumors. I'd say it makes sense, not to mention Tuchel doesn't help himself either with his comments on the interview etc.

Now he can take over a top quality national team and he can only win since England hasn't won anything in a very long time. If he does, he is the British hero. And on top of that these national coaches get paid huge salaries these days.
The opposite can also happen though, in which if he failed to win anything with a very good England squad then his quality as a coach would be questioned even more. Not to mention some people would bring the fact that Tuchel has experience with the Premier League as one of the reasons why he should win trophies with England, even though this reasoning doesn't make sense imo.

Yes. Even if Thomas Tuchel brings the title to England, this is still a failed choice for the FA. The English have devalued themselves on the world football map. France, Germany, Italy, Brazil, and Argentina, the biggest football nations never invite foreign coaches for their national teams even in their down periods. We should remember that national team football enters the spiritual life of fans with the spirit of the national flag. Here, nationality is more important than talent. For the British, they are trying to find a solution to the problem of life: the lack of English coaches of sufficient caliber and talent. Even if Tuchel is successful, the credit still belongs to the German coach. The world will say that the German football philosophy has helped England succeed. They are underestimating themselves.

I think Tuchel is a good coach, he is trying a new challenge by coaching England for the 2026 WC. Replacing Gareth Southgate is certainly a tough job. Gareth Southgate has been the England coach for almost 8 years. I think this change is also to make improvements. Tuchel doesn't seem to have much experience at country level, but he does have a lot of experience in Europe's big leagues. It looks like he will debut on November 15 against Greece.
If Tuchel's duration is the same as Gareth Southgate's, I think Tuchel will be the England coach who can give Kane a trophy.
I agree with you a lot about Thomas Tuchel's experience in pursuing a career as a professional coach in the big European leagues.
At Chelsea, Tuchel was able to give the Champions League trophy, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup. When in France with PSG, he was unable to realize the fans' dream of seeing PSG lift the UCL trophy.

It looks like Tuchel will make his debut against Greece.

Maybe most people, including me, will not deny the fact that Tuchel is indeed a reliable coach who is full of experience coaching big European clubs, although on the other hand coaching the national team he has no experience but a challenge like this is worth trying especially the English national team has a lot of young talent in this case Thomas Tuchel just needs to maximize it. I will look forward to the debut of the English national team under Tuchel's command against Greece later.

A deal has just been struck between Tuchel and the FA, he will continue Gareth Southgate work with the England national team heading into the 2026 World Cup. This news is a bit surprising because previously Tuchel had always been linked with MU if they fired Ten Hag, England moved quickly to overcome the problems in their squad and immediately overtook MU who took too long in making decisions. Tuchel selection as the new England national team coach is a departure from the FA tradition of only selecting coaches who were born in England throughout history.

it's a good development to see tochel coming in as the head coach of the England national team. Even though a lot of united fan would have wished he comes to the club as a replacement to Eric Teng hang, England truly needs a good and well experienced coach that can manage the kind of squared in the England team. With the difficulty Southgate faced with the England team at the last euros, preparing for the coming world cup would require someone who will have the ability of bringing out the best in the already talented squad in the team knowing fully well that it's not going to be easy in the coming world cup. It would be good if tochel can make a difference in the team and give england the kind of win fans expect of the England team.

As said Haaland is now linked with Barcelona.

Will Manchester City release Haaland and replace him with an AI? Smiley According to statistics, he scored 101 goals in 108 games for Manchester City. There are very few footballers who can do better, we can even say that there are no footballers who can do better. Also, Manchester City is not a club that will let him go for money. I see Haaland's transfer to another club as impossible. Maybe his agent is trying to get the best contract of the century from Manchester City... Smiley
is man city ready to let go of Halland now? It doesn't seems so. Recall how thier attack was before him and the impact he's been to the team currently. I feel that Untill pep leaves man city, halland will likely remain with the team longer than now because his impact is still needed in the team. The EPL is still a huge platform any player would want to keep playing in and he's still the strongest player in EPL so for me, it's necessary he continues playing at the EPL.

If table turns or if I should ask a reverse question, will Germany be comfortable appointing an English man as her national team coach? I wouldn't bother checking the history for this, but with the present reality, I am not sure Germany will do that.

Although, Thomas Tuchel can say that England is his second home, he has had good impact in the English Premier league, but I am not sure he will have a smooth ride, especially when he begins to bench the English special sons. I wish him the best
Times are changing and nations are more focused on quality than nationalism. Previously it was seen as abnormal for countries with the best leagues in the world to hire foreign coaches. That was why England had hired just two foreign coaches throughout its existence. But we all know that England doesn't produce the best coaches and we can see that by checking the coaches of the top clubs in the EPL.

The German national team have never hired a foreign coach since the position was created in 1926. All the twelve coaches they have ever had are German nationals. So you are right that they might be uncomfortable hiring a foreign coach. But I don't think they really need a foreigner because they produce some of the best coaches in the world.
