They are currently on 13% loss in Ziliqa coin, I don't think its a great investment, though. If you have much money then don't all in for a coin because the risk on getting lose is very much rather than investing in many coins or tokens.
I would in your place invest in the tokens of stock exchanges. It can be Binance, Kucoin, Localcoinswap and others who already have a finished product. The best choice is Binance coin (BNB).
Why only zilliqa?. There plenty of good project out there with low marketcap and have huge potential. In my opinion split it and put a portion on Bitcoin. Rest put on some good project like eth,neo then the rest on zil,wan,ont,seele... (Nb:im not shilling any projects here. always do your own research)
Go to Bounties.biz try to research the ICO's managed by Amazix because most of the projects they've handled turned out to be successful even when it's still on the private sale they already reached the soft cap.
Diversify. 5 different coins, 15% for each, I would look at 2 anonymous coins + BTC + 1 new finance product + 1 platform like NEO or ETH. Rest I would leave in fiat, for ICO or buying more if the market goes down.

Of course you shold buy alts. My favourite coin is axpire. They have in advisers Rodger Ver. And the price for it isn't so big. I hold a big amount of axp. Their token is unique, It solves many problems. I think it will give me hundreds per cent. But if you want to name 5 coins, Ok!

But I wouldn't put it all in just one.
If you want to "go big" than at least split it into two similar projects.
You can do a 60%/40% split or something like that.
That leaves you with projects like polymath.
Now, prices are really cheap all accross the board so I feel now is a better time to buy than in August.
If you want to go a completely different route, you can but a recently finished ico.

No any ico invest. Buy some Ethereum and sleep for 1.5 years minimum. Then wake up and get 5X profit or more ☺. Most trusted and best altcoin bro. So go for Ethereum.
I do not have $3000. But if I get $3000 then I will invest some dollars on Bitcoin and some others on ETH, LTC, Doge and ETN.

As of now when I made a research of this ziliqa altcoin there platform, there work as the same rate as other good running ICO that I would say that this coin can get a high chance if good and positive outcome but who knows there me a negative outcome as well. This ICO can be grow and go down in crypto terms go high as the rocket sets space towards moon and go for the fall.
So remeber be sure to keep in mind that this coin may fly high and go down tmand that is because of the investors who hold this altcoin. Hold (HODL), Sell and Trade.
Buy bitcoins with all the money you have for investing into crypto and keep holding it for few years maybe more than 2 then you can make very huge reaps from it.Investing on other coins is highly risky,but you may get mote profits in short term but in long term the bitcoin will be my preference.

I would prefer altcoin who have the potential and reliable. Maybe the ripple, NEO, stellar, Cardano become a great option to consider. with the value of the standard said it will still be producing if experiencing movement rises high enough for easy.
I think you have chosen the right solution, you need to wait until the end of August or early September and look at the situation with prices

Ziliqa is good choice. I would buy with beautiful price bitcoin, ada, neo, ziliqa, waves and maybe ethereum classic. And think, maybe you can get for example 1000$ and split it between a few ICOs? Just do your own research before buy something
It's a wise choice but you can split your money on eth btc and zilliqa this coin is also a great potential to hold sadly i missed the opportunity when it was listed in small exchange
