'The right to privacy matters'
Here's my build based on one of Phil's 3 card builds. I added 1 riser for a 4 card rig. Added risers to a shelf to mount the motherboard and riser. Also made a custom card holder and fan mount from extra shelf parts. Pulling 2450 Sol/s at 755w at the wall. Very stable rig.

3 x MSI Aero 1080 ti
1 x MSI Aero 1070 Mini
1 x EVGA G3 850
1 X 4GB Ram
1 x 32 GB Lexar USB running Fullzero's nvOC

good I am glad I inspired you to do it.

I get 6,7,8,9,10,11,12,and even 13 card beast..

but these 3,4 card builds  using a evga 850 watt psu or a rosewill quark 850 watt psu  are dead solid builds.

I have a different  mobo  to test a gigabyte ga-b250-hd3

I did a win 10 build and it was a disaster   some weird eth card issue/  I did a win 7 and the het card worked I updated it to win 10 and got around the direct win 10 build eth card fail  this time I will  do a nvoc build  using a higher end lexar usb stick

This is on a biostar z170, but  I will do one on a gigabyte z270.
I use i5 6400t cpus used on ebay

this one is 129  but when ebay has a 10% ebuck deal this is 117

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Intel-Core-i5-6400T-Quad-Core-2-20GHz-1MB-6MB-Socket-1151-Skylake-S-CPU-SR2L1-/152607562406?

I have found 4b stick of ram  works well  .  and I like quark psu's

850 watts plat 130 but 117  when you get a 10% ebuck deal
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rosewill-Quark-Series-850W-80-PLUS-Platinum-Full-Modular-Power-Supply-/172183274675?

evga 850 watt p2 is also good
http://www.ebay.com/itm/EVGA-SuperNOVA-850-P2-220-P2-0850-X1-80-PLATINUM-850W-Fully-Modular-EVGA-ECO-Mo-/301677534337?

evga 750 watt p2 is also good

for the life of me  i don't understand why you want six card rigs  unless you do 60 cards or more.

lastly  nvoc  is god like  next to perfect os  for running this.

this stick works well

https://www.amazon.com/Lexar-JumpDrive-32GB-Flash-Drive/dp/B00T61JM4E/ref=sr_1_1?

so

2100 for 3x 1080ti's --------------  210 off  on a ebay ebuck sale
   16 for bgears fan -----------------    1
  114 for motherboard  -------------  11
  129 for cpu-------------------------  13
  129 for psu-------------------------  13
   30 for  4gb ram -------------------   3
   13 for usb stick -------------------   1
    0 for nvoc

2531 net for a 2000 sol zec rig using 550 watts  if ebay has a 10% promo  2531 - 253 =  2278

@Phill any specific reasons you prefer blower type cards?

i think price is always the key  on the 1080 ti's  I got my best deals on fe cards and msi aero cards both blower style.

the 1070's the itxs are not blower style  but they were working well in my 2 x 1080 ti 1x 1070 builds.

once I went with 3x 1080 ti's  and the one fan above them I can see that blower style work better then the gigabyte aorus  cards.

this build is not possible without blower style cards

Are you switching back to skein Phil? NH ZEC sure is down a bit. What's everyone mining now?

let me see my one rig on skein

this is a 3 x 1070 rig

http://zpool.ca/?address=16yLHLoeyuCLPMXkVpC3gyrRYvwRGwjKJr

it earned

0.040  for a week  it was 100 bucks  for 7 days  which is 14.28 usd for 3x 1070's
0.024  for this week  so it dropped to about 60 bucks  for 7 days is  8.58 usd for 3 x 1070's

so I will keep an eye on it.  but zec and skein both dropped just a bit.

So phil   you are getting :

550 watts 2000 sols for 3x 1080ti
500 watts 1700 sols for 2x 1080ti and 1 1070 itx

Please correct me if I am wrong.

you are close.  yeah  I need the fan  to make it work , but those 3 cards all all running in the 60-65c area.

At the moment  I think it is more value to get the 3x 1080 ti builds done.

They do more zec and ti price is a little less crushed then the 1070 price.

On July 3rd I get 498 to spend on ebucks  and I have a 25 dollar gift card.

that comes to 523 to spend. I will be getting a 1080ti.

I sold the katana's
I am going to sell  the 1070 itx cards

msi 1070 aero itx
https://www.amazon.com/MSI-GTX-1070-ITX-AERO/dp/B06X1GZB5F/ref=sr_1_1?

gigabyte 1070 itx

msi is 550 at amazon
gigabyte is 579 at amazon

at philipma1957  they are  440 free shipping to usa

the fan is a 140mm bGears

grills for the fan

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0043SIX4A/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1
that 140mm fan is from bGears and is needed to run the 3 1080 ti's in the tight space

I ran over night zero issues  this is about 2000 sols at about 550 watt on the pdu meter

this 1080ti build with the fan     is preferred  over this build

2 1080 ti  and 1 1070 itx

https://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-GeForce-GDDR5-Graphics-GV-N1070IXOC-8GD/dp/B01JD2OSX0/ref=sr_1_1?

no one is selling them under 550 at amazon

here is one for over 800 on the bay

http://www.ebay.com/itm/MSI-Gaming-GeForce-GTX-1070-8GB-GDDR5-SLI-DirectX-12-VR-Ready-ITX-Graphics-Card-/172716270712?

usa buyers only free shipping   whats a fair markup?

I paid about 386 each for the 8 of them  all under 1 month old.

at 450 with free shipping to the usa I would earn  around 50 a card..

So I think I want 440 for them  in btc.  seem fair?  if it does  send a pm  They will ship on July 5th.

I also have 2 katana http://galaxstore.net/GALAX-GeForce-GTX-1070-KATANA_p_130.html

I paid 430 each for them  with the shipping

I will sell them. 460 each and give free shipping.

not sure if I have boxes for them
I have an offer for the katana's

i do have boxes for the msi and gigabyte 1070's

once these sell I will be all 1080ti
here is a nvoc 0017  3x 1080ti build

comes with NICE

changed to ZEC

put in nicehash pool for zec

made fan 80

saved changes

booted that mofo

I also set power to 165 for each 1080ti

that 140mm fan is from bears and is needed to run the 3 1080 ti's in the tight space

'The right to privacy matters'
My problem from yesterday happened again..
It was fine last night into this morning and when I got to work and checked the first card was 84 while cards 2 and 3 were mid to low 60s..
So I dropped the power from 80 to 70 and it dropped back to mid 60s.. I checked the power usage and prior to me dropping it, the card was running at 100%! Afterburn was set to 80% and the other cards were 80..

Anyone have any idea why the card would run at 100 when it was set to 80? Adjusting the setting to 70 woke it up.. but still..

Have you tried changing the cards around in the slots yet?  THought u were going to try that.  I would unlink all the cards reset all the settings in afterburner then saving the profile.

Also set the heat limit to like 70% so it auto cuts it back on the power if it goes over 70% I dont know if will work if you are having that issue.

I have a weird issue like that sometimes but it is the opposite.  If you go from Skien to Zec after a few days mining one of your cards might stuck using half its power.  A reboot usually fixes it.

I got home and looked at the card and it was slightly sticking out of the pci-e so I thought that was my problem. Also went looking for my powered usb risers.. couldnt find those. Hoping they turn up this weekend and I can hang the cards and not worry about temp issues..

It was running perfectly find prior to putting in the 3rd card.. but I am also auto switching coins at nicehash so maybe it gets hung up on a switch?

auto switching is very hard on gear

Well it's Nicehash's auto switching and I only have 2 coins selected so I would hope/think it doesn't change that much right?

try 1 coin only  for a day or two  see if problem happens again.

btw my 1 aorus  would do exactly the same thing it would go to 82-85 f.  It would not stay locked in on afterburner. but I did find a way to get around it.  I do only zec with it and use win 7 and on afterburner settings I found a third party card option which I checked off.along with resume settings after restart

 since then it works well

it is at the solar array

Yes   solar1080ti   Equihash   2012 Sol/s   =  it has  3 1080ti's 2 msi areo's and 1 aorus

I have 1 rig 7x rx 470 8gig, have had no problems at all, Nicehash.
I have 2 rigs 9 total running 1080 ti's also Nicehash, and have the same problem you have.
Sorry I can't give you a fix, I'm still pulling my hair out.

what is this "brake pedal" you speak of?

GTX 1060 6GB and RX 460 might get close to the bottom of that range. [25-30 on eth]

nope.

my stock RX 460 4 gb gets 12-13 mhs, ive seen reports of 15 with a strapped vbios.

What cards do you guys think I should get for my upcoming 6-card rig. Im hoping to get about 25-30MH/s per card, with overclock if needed. I see alot of people say we shouldnt invest in 480/580 anymore because they are gonna cut the hashrate. But 1070's are like 600USD retail where I live. Any tips or thoughts on the matter?

 Options are:

 BIOS modded RX 480/580.
BIOS modded RX 470/570 will get into the lower end of that range.
GTX 1070 will hit 30 sometimes 32 when overclocked, depending on the RAM.
R9 290/290x/390/390x but those eat a lot of power.
GTX 1080 will hit the VERY bottom of that range.
GTX 1080ti will hit mid-30s somewhere.

Note that ALL of these options are not exactly cheap due to the demand miners are putting on mid-high end GPUs the last 2-3 months.

GTX 1060 6GB and RX 460 might get close to the bottom of that range.

From what I've seen so far, the "mining edition" cards aren't going to be a LOT lower than consumer-model cards as folks "charge what the market will bear"....

Thanks for a great reply. I might just go for 1060 6GB's because of the ROI. I dont want to overpay for a better GPU and have to mine for almost 5 months to pay it down. With 1060's I can do it in about 3 I think

Well it comes down to what you have access to in your area and what your long term goal is..
With the new claymore miner you can get decent hash on eth with the 1060s.

1070's by me are ~$450
1080ti's are ~$669
Amd 470/480 & 570/580 are all sold out

I wen't with 1080ti's due to density as I can't walk into my local store and get more than 2 or 3 without them giving me a hard time and I didn't want to order online.

If your after eth because you think that is the future you can always mine an altcoin, sell it and buy eth. If you want eth you think that is the most profitable coin out there, then you have some research to do as it's not always.

Best of luck.

... or get the mining card editions by AMD and NVIDIA coming out soon.

http://cryptomining-blog.com/8846-asus-mining-p106-is-a-gpu-for-crypto-currency-mining/

When do we realistically see these cards hitting store?
I mean by the time these guys hit the shelves the market could have collapsed, haha.
