Wow when did those go to $15!

don't know but I got a few today.

nvOC 0017 is for linux + nvidia

0012 is for linux + amd

with that usb 3.0 stick  holding 64gb at good speeds  it is very nice way to run a mining pc that also can do real pc work.

I think it has something to do with this..... they are going out of biz

https://www.theverge.com/circuitbreaker/2017/6/27/15881902/lexar-memory-card-flash-storage-sd-shut-down-micron

what a pity, back in those days.... my first memory card was a 64GB Lexar for my Sony digital camera ....anyone remembers this handheld device that take digital photos and movies LOL :-)

Any chance someone can give me the bat config info to change the tpd, core and mem of a card.
I rather have it pre-programmed in the bat than afterburn, is that a good idea?

Are you using nvOC 0017 Linux?

He has a onebash file which acts like a bat.

It is more stable then windows .

His thread links to my step by step thread on Zec mining.  I have yet to do one on eth

Using Win7.

I used Linux back when I folded and it was always a pain for me.

my newbie threads based on nvOC

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/here-is-a-thread-for-newbies-to-setup-a-nvoc-0017-rig-to-mine-zec-1998198

all you need is a usb stick to test

the hdd with win 7 is disconnected  and the usb with linux boots

I just started reading the intro post from the link, thank you.
Is there a specific reason to use this over Win7 mining?

stability seems better.  usb stick for 15 bucks is cheap

 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00S5V5PEC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

and of course  you have easy cloning of the usb stick for backup

I am getting flakey numbers on this nicehash account

https://new.nicehash.com/miner/16yLHLoeyuCLPMXkVpC3gyrRYvwRGwjKJr

How many cards is that your running? seen the 1080ti labels, rig 1 seems like 2x1080ti's and rig 2 im unsure on.. seems like 2x1080ti +1080?
Just curious, im looking to make a change.. my earnings lately have been terrible on zpool... with 18x 1080ti's i made a whole 0.0189btc in 24hrs of mining....

zcash is down big time on nicehash so I switched to zpool skein a couple days ago. running 14x 1080ti, 1x1080, 1x1070, 1x980ti. about $15-20 more a day than nicehash.

I have been following this thread and last month changed over a couple of 380 systems to 1080 ti 's. This decision wasn't financially justfied, but more than a future proofing move. I had no confidence in getting any vegas for a couple of months and attempted to cash in on June's coin mining bonanza.

I'm constrained by power and cooling, so each mining system "slot" can't draw more than 1kW and and GPU's have to more than 1 fan.

All the watt measurements are using a Kill-a-watt meter.

The cards that I purchased were the EVGA 1080ti FTW.

4 1080 ti's replaced 6 ASUS Strix R9 380's. Typically 6 380's would hash ETH about @ 125 Mh/s @ 870W

For the 1080's I run at a TDP of 60% - 65%

a) ZEC For 4 cards, power is about 710 W @ 2600 sols/s

b) ETH, For 4 cards power is about 830W @ 142 Mh/s (+400 - +500 mem overclock)

What I find most interesting is that dual mining with these cards draws no additional power at dcri's of about 120.

c) ETH/DCR 830W @ 132 Mh/s @ 5,000 Mh/s

d) ETH/LBR 830W @ 132 Mh/s @ 380 Mh/s

e) Pure DCR 18500 Mh/s

I havn't really tweaked the above, the goal being with these new cards to not crash.

Suddenly getting "ERROR: Cannot connect to the pool" on ewbf. I have been mining fine on nicehash for few weeks. Does anyone else get this?

EDIT: I think something wrong with nicehash USA server? Changed server to EU and it is fine. Is USA server down?

Yes. It was down.

When the consumer Vega comes out I'm going to grab 4-6. I'll roll the dice (a Las Vegas phrase were I live)
If they don't work out I'll light up E-Bay the gamers will love me.
This whole Bitcoin-Altcoin thing is a gamble-Risk you can't be timid if you what to do this dance.
Just my 2cents. your mileage may vary.

Wait for the consumer Vega cards, rumored to be due out late this month or sometime next month.

The Frontier Edition is priced high due to it's workstation orientation, the consumer cards should be more like half the price (depending on the specific model, apparently they are going to be a LINE this time around instead of only being 1 GPU with a "lose one compute unit from manufacturing defects and sell it as a lower-end model" and "make a shortie card version" routine).

I won't be shocked if the Vega can beat the 1080ti on ZEC mining, that would be in line with Fury hashrates and clock speed upgrades.
I WOULD be shocked if the high-end consumer card Vega can't at least get very close.

The consumer Vega has been confirmed by AMD twitter for release at Siggraph July 30th - August 3rd Cheesy

Now the money is free, and so the people will be
also check the evga website for midweek madness sales, b-stock.  1 year warranty, its refurbished by evga so no problems there.  much better prices.

'The right to privacy matters'

thanks I will check it out.

I am in position to buy 3000 worth of gpu's

so 4 1080 ti's  or 3 amd vega's  need info to decide which to buy.

my may show me the vega is  better for me if it can do 1000 sols at 175-200 watts

but that if the vega does 900 sols  at 175 -200 watts  it is a push

anything less the 1080 ti is better.

The price  I used for this is 1000 usd for the amd and 700 for the 1080ti
