There are more and more countries launching their own cryptocurrency at this time. I think this is an indication that the world is now open for innovation to financial currency, and the result of this might be good because cryptocurrency could unify people around the world. If we are to help people adopt bitcoin and cryptocurrency, or have their own cryptocurrency, it will be easy for the to know bitcoin and altcoins. In this case, people could transact anywhere in the world in which for me is a sign of massive world development.

well, it seems like France will also launch their own cryptocurrency next year. it's funny that just year ago they despise cryptocurrency(article about it) and now they are launching their own cryptocurrency
and even teaching high school students about cryptocurrency(article about it) and preparing them for it. how things have changed in just a year Cheesy Cheesy

Venezuela launched their own cryptocurrency call Petro time ago and i heard that many big countries are planning to do the same. The governments are more open with cryptocurrencies now and i think this is a good signal.

No, it's not a digital currency is a digital asset, big difference.
Hmm. We see it in a different way. It's okay. Digital Currency is money in the digital form right? That is used for the transaction. An asset could be considered as something of value that could add more value in the future. So we could agree that it's both a digital currency and a digital asset. Alright?

Bro, how about we listen to what the guy said?
https://www.bis.org/review/r191204f.htm

I'm basing this on how Bitcoin was created. The solution to solving the double-spending issue. Resulting in the blockchain technology. That's what other virtual currency doesn't have (before). Now that there are central banks who want to use that kind of technology to create their own.

Bitcoin wasn't created to solve a problem that is found in it!
And double spending can be easily solved without the blockchain.
Furthermore, bitcoin is not safe from double spending attacks:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=327767.40.

Banks don't care, as long as it's a centralized system they can revert transactions anytime they want, that's how refunds have been working for half a century.

That's the answer? Then I believe you too didn't get the whole "essence" of Bitcoin. No offense intended.
We all have different views on what it is. I understand. No offense is taken. It's just that "essence" for me is that it's a digital currency. I'm just waiting for your answer to that.

I like Bitcoin better. Cool
We could totally agree with that.  Cool

Fiat also takes the form of digital currency when you use your credit card but this thing is not a currency. And that's not just me saying is the BiS definition.
Understood. It's a bunch of numbers on a computer.

What does other “virtual currency” that bitcoin has?
Hmm, this is a deep one. What is snow but it's not rain?

The way things are going, I will not be surprised to see the whole global economy digitalized in the next one to two decades.

True, glad to hear that each country is progressing and launching its own cryptocurrency. Venezuela has Petrol, China is announcing its own crypto also and expecting more to follow. The future looks bright in cryptocurrency and blockchain technology.

Quite a positive thing for the adoption and increase in the real-time usage of cryptocurrency on the global arena. Already there were more countries that has taken cryptocurrency into consideration for usage, now it is happening with france. The surprise is the educating students about cryptocurrency which will enrich the usage for the future and help with continued growth than getting stopped within few generations.

I am among those who were surprised to see the movement of the france government so quickly in adopting cryptocurrency. But this is
positive news for the cryptocurrency community, France is a large country that can have an influence on other european countries to
adopting cryptocurrency. Making their own coins is a good step that France has taken to play a role in lifting cryptocurrency name in the
eyes of the world. Now cryptocurrency will be more famous than ever before, I'm not surprised by france taking This decision. Because
France sees the future of cryptocurrency as very good, so France does not want to be left behind by developments cryptocurrency. So they
make their own cryptocurrency coins, like China.

To put some context, the debate started because of this post, https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.53299229

I hope everyone reads and actually learns the difference of Bitcoin and central bank issued digital currencies. Many many of the posts in the topic are showing lack of basic understanding.

They would not want to be left behind as countries move towards a crypto future. France has always been among the first to embrace change. Though they may not be the first to start it or the one to do the best, they have been consistent with their desire to create a modern and free soceity.
Of course they don't want to be left behind, Because there are many developed countries that will make their own crypto and that is a progress in the world of crypto. We will see later that many countries will make their own Crypto, I believe that will happen.

From that statement, then France truly has understood the "essence of cryptocurrencies"? Please answer, what is the "essence of cryptocurrencies"?

I just said it. It’s a digital currency Shocked. Tell me what bitcoin solved when utilizing digital currencies? What does other “virtual currency” that bitcoin has? Why did suddenly banks thought that it’s possible to do digital cash now and possibly create their own?

I didn't say something was wrong. PayPal wants to improve the financial system too, I don't hate PayPal. Cool

So you hate central banks then? Huh

actually there is nothing new in this kind of changing sides.

like china's stand in past and now they are standing towards this, and many more that i already forgot.

what is important with this action is the adoption they are doing that will bring positive to crypto world.specially in EU part that we knew is starting their way towards crypto.

It will not bring anything positive to Bitcoin. France will only be developing a type digital fiat with a centralized ledger.
Yes, the France government will create a centralized coin backed with fiat but the creation of their national digital currency will precisely bring something positive to the bitcoin market if we look at the bright side because the reason why others cryptocurrency are created is because of Bitcoin inspiration and I'm sure people from France and from the rest of the world will want to know more about the coin that inspired the France governments.

LOL!

An official French crypto! Judging by this country's current deficit, theirs unbalanced budgets for the last 40 years, and weekly strikes everywhere in France, you'd have to be mad to have faith in it.

It's good for BTC, though.

Blockchain challenges the life old banking method and brought new changes in the banking method so the countries that are taking this risk will be a step ahead in the future, economically. It is always important to adopt current technology as soon as possible a country like France has understood this. Soon every country will start understanding. Cheesy

This only means anything can happen. I hope that other countries will also acknowledge the existence of this technology which is crypto. What make me very amaze is when the France government come up to the idea of having crypto in the school curriculum. This would widen the knowledge of youngsters in the field of crypto.
Sooner or later every country will try to create their own crypto and test the scenarios. They think they can manipulate crypto like conventional currencies but I dont think people will fall for this now.
Possibly this will happen, every countries would like to create their own digital currency perhaps the efficiency it can gives, I think to dethrone Bitcoin on its position of leading digital currency as well and to monitor every transactions of their people.
