I don't really understand about choosing a tip, is there a place to give tips? By the way about the 10 $ + 1 $ registration is 10% ascending? if the registration 100 $ then be 110 $ right? there a special table tournament, like a table status, economy, super economy, elite and others?
I still follow whatever the plan I agree Wink

Hello Cacingkemi, thank you for your feedback and vote of trust!
As or your questions, I will reply to which of them separately.

- For the first one, yes, there will be a place to give tips. We are developing a website that will be feeded with odds from gambling sites. Right now we are considering using Pinnacle API for that purpose. If you or anyone else has a better suggestion for how to get the odds, please let as know.

- About the tournament fee, yes, it will always be around 10% of the value of the buy in (just like poker tournaments).
So your example is correct ($10 + $1, $100 + $10, etc).

- I did not understood what you meant by "special table tournament". If you meant different buy ins, like freeroll, low stakes, medium stakes, high roller, then yes. We plan on doing that, but for now we will stick to a main event with an average buy in, that can be supported buy most players, and those that still can't pay, will be able to try to win tickects on a freeroll and a smaller buy in satellite.

If you meant a Loyalty Program, we haven't thought about that, but it could be a good idea. Users could earn points from the fees paid, and then have access to special tournaments or just swap points for tournaments tickets.

Again thank you for your feedback, and please let us know if you have any more doubts or suggestions.

Important Update

Hello everyone. Things haven't changed much, we are still developing the site, but like I said before, we can't launch in September.
In the meanwhile I think it's time to start discussing how things will work. It's better to do it now, than when the site is ready.

Like we've mention before this is what we are going to do:

A real Tipster Championship
- We will create a website and feed it with odds from a sports book (Pinnacle Sports probably).
-Users would register (just username, password and address for prizes), and will place their tips from the options available. No real bets would be made.
- We will have a live leaderboard etc.
- Users will pay a buy in + small fee (like in a poker tournament) and will participate in the competition for a month. The buy in would go completely for the prize pot, and the fee would be for us to manage the competition (again just like a poker tournament, but it would be Tipster Competition)
- If we get a sponsor, they will add coins to the prize pool, but it will remain a Tipster Championship (and no real bets will be made)
- We will probably host one or two satellites as well (users will enter that tournament for free, and will earn an entry for the tournament with a buy in)

I think we need to start discussion buy ins, and the tournament structure and site features.
Right now we will just hold one tournament (and probably the satellite as well) to see how things go. From there, we will have different tournaments, running at the same time, with different buy ins (again, like in poker tournaments).

For buys ins: What is the amount you would be ok in participating? (remember that no real bets are made. You make the buy in, and you compete for one month only making tips)

Tournament Rules and Structure: Should we keep the main competition structure, or the side competition structure?
I also thought, why not adding the option to create some custom tournaments? Someone would ask us to create and host a private tournament. He could define the buy in, and set a password. This way you can participate on tournaments with only some friends for example.

Site Features: What do you think it's important? We will have live leaderboard and a Player Profile.
On the Player Profile, we will include wins and losses, ROI%, prizes won, probably bets by sport, etc. Things like that, that you can then use to promote yourself as a good tipster. Also I though about achievements, since they are also fun things to try (like winning at a determined odd, winning a parlay with a determined number of selection, winning X number of bets in some type of sports, etc etc)

As usual, your feedback is very important, so we can provide a good game for you guys.

Thank you for your feedback and ideas. We really appreciate them.

We also hope to start with at least 20 participants. On the last competitions from directbet we always had the minimum 50 participants to pay full prizes, but we are aware that the participation prize was a good incentive for that (and there was also the multi-account feature), so 20 players for start, should be a good value.

To try to compensate that, we will offer a free-roll and lower buy in tournaments where we will guarantee some tickets to the "main event".
This should give everyone an opportunity to participate.

We also thought about creating a referral program, where users should receive a fixed % from the fees paid from players they get to our site. This should also help us getting new participants.
Also, by selling players that were not referred by anyone as referrals, could also be a good way to raise funds for the site as well (to avoid inactive referrals at all cost, we could only "sell" players that were registered in the forum, and had a minimum rank).

I think BTC were at least at an average of $1000 during most of the time the competition was sponsored by directbet, so users were making 100 bets of an average of 0.001 BTC, so around $100. Of course these were bets, and they could get profit from them.

Given this, I guess that maybe a $30 + $3 buy in, would be reasonable. This combined with the freeroll and probably a $10 + $1 that would guarantee some tickets for the main event, should give an opportunity for all that wish to participate.

We really think we will be able to create a fun competition for everyone.
As usual please keep those ideas coming. They are very important to us, to create a good competition.

I know this new format is having a very slow start, but we want to do things right.
Thank you for your patience.

I am very excited that you are creating a website and letting us tipsters post our tips (virtual bets) the buy in should be like mentioned above from Joca 0.01 to 0.02 max. If it is more you will make the number of the people who will buy in a lot lower. Marked this thread in my watch list to see further developments. Surely I will be one with 0.01 btc buy in to play this kind of game. I am already playing in virtual betting pool created by hilariousandco and I am having a lot of fun there. Hope to be the same here.

The Best Tipster on the Forum!!
Hello guys, thank you for your feedback, although we would still like to hear more. I know this competition is in stand by for a while, but we are doing everything we can to get it back, with the required changes, since right now we will start solo. This will require some investment from us, plus a maintenance cost like all business, so it's really important for us to know that you guys are still interested in participating in this new format.

As for the feedback we already had:

- Yes we will try to sell banner space, and get sponsors. Right now the problems we are facing, is that without the website running, and number of participants etc, it's hard to negotiate those things right now. So we sill start solo now, and then try to improve from there.

- We still need more feedback regarding buy ins. Right now is ranging from $10 to $40. Like I said in the update the idea to to get several options, just like poker tournaments, but right now, we really need a decent number of players, so we need a buy in that can be affordable to all.

- We will get the free roll satellite, but since we will start solo, those free entries will be paid by us, so it wont cover those much participants.

- As for the fee we really need to do it like poker tournaments. If we look at poker tournaments, the most common fee is 10% of the buy in. So it would be something like $10 + $1, or $40 + $4 etc. We will still negotiate sponsors etc, but the money we can get from there will most likely be all used as added money for prizes.

- We really liked your idea about the share button for facebook, or twitter. We will try to promote the site on betting and tipster forums, and lets hope they know what bitcoins are. We will try to have good share incentives, that's why we plan on creating the Player Profile area, so users can share their tipster stats.

Please keep your feedback coming.
Thank you!
I think the fair price would be 20 or 40 $ i would go for 40 $,because when we had the directbet tournaments bets werent below 50 $ and so and i think people can afford this, also if you want you can take 5 or 10 % of the buy ins and with banners you can try and advertise your site even more from those funds, like marketing funds or something like that.
Directbet had a tournament of 100 players, you should expect for start 20 , because people aint betting real money.

Finaly i have been waiting for this competition to comeback again, cant wait for it to start again.
About the buy-ins i think they should be 20 -40 dollars or more,to go from 0.01 to 0.02 btc per user
And the fee should be like bitbollo said to put some banners or contact the sportsbooks who want to sponsor this

Also i think it would maybe be okey if people would have a share button for twitter or facebook so that people can hear more about the site.

Cant wait to re-start !!

I think bitbollo ideas are quite decent and could work, but I don't really mind participating if the prizes are just the ones from the buy ins.
As for buy ins I would like to see different options, but I understand this new competition could have a slow start since it will be very different from the last ones, and many users where just in it for the participation prize that directbet kindly gave us.

I would be up to an equivalent to a $10 buy in plus the fee (probably $1 fee).

As for the format, and site features, everything in that list looks fine to me, I don't really need anything else.
Also think that getting rid of those 13% bonus ROI based on the betting stake would be better. Since there is a buy in, and we will then get virtual bets, I don't see any need in rewarding "big bets".

Why not try to sell the banner space of this new web site directly to Auctions sections of the forum?
Or even open a new topic where we offer directly some advantages to a sponsor bookmaker if they cover some prize / odds?

I think this new format of the competition could be a fantastic site, and we can also spread some btc / btc betting culture to others users.

Hello everyone, as you can see we've change the title of this thread because we are now in the Pre-Launch phase of this new format for our competition. As I stated in our previous update your input is very important, so we can launch a good service to all.

Here is the link to my last update (only a few posts above). We've also made a quote of it in our OP
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.21320358

Again, we really need your input on this (Buy ins; Tournament Rules and Structure; Site Features)
Thank you guys!

Your idea about a competition like a poker tournament
Quote
(re-buys, addons, bounty tournaments, freezout tournaments, turbo tournaments, crazy 1 chip tournaments)
could be a good way for tipster competition (and using "fanta money").
Even an all-in could be dangerous and a lot of players could see this as a problem because they will lose all funds in a one shot bet.
But if we have already the limits of 5% this issue will not properly assessed.

The thing about a poker tournament wasn't my idea. According to the last updates about this competition, I think it's going that way.

I only added a few more ideas, since in the future, the plan is to having multiple tournaments. I really like playing poker, and I prefer tournaments, so I think this could be a good thing. I wouldn't enjoy this new format for the competition, if an all in tournament was the only option available, but I think it could be a funny idea to be available, and I would participate in it from time to time, like I already do in poker

I remember participating in $1 poker satellites where users would be awarded only 1 chip, and would go all in every hand until the end (on heads up tables), because the blinds were always very high. I didn't do it on a regular basis, but it was fun from time to time. That's why I gave that idea.

For this competition, I think this idea in particular could end up in a tournament, where users would always go heads up, and kept climbing their way until the end 1 bet at a time. We already had something similar when the side competition had a knockout phase. If in the future we are going to have multiple tournaments, then the possibilities are quite endless.

Nice to see again people interested in a tipster competition. and what competition, the best one, the first one!
But personally I am disagree to the option of placing betting worthless, just to cover competition needs.
because if you bet without real money, you will try to hit big multipliers, and playing with a risky profile.
I think is not good to see who is a really tipster, because with "fanta money" and without this type of restriction, there is also the possibility for some fraud. Ok there is a registration fee but everyone could buy more then 1 entries, and we know all in this forum how many clones there are Sad

Of course, about publish the bets/leaderboard, we can track the bets with this topic or even another web sites.

Just my 2 cents Smiley I hope to play again this great competition!
Since the goal here is to create something like poker tournaments, but then instead of playing poker, users will place tips (for me this is just like playing with chips in a tournament), why not create a tournament where re-buys are allowed?

There are so many cool things in poker tournaments (re-buys, addons, bounty tournaments, freezout tournaments, turbo tournaments, crazy 1 chip tournaments). I know it's a different concept than what we were used to, but it could be a really funny game. I really want to see what the managers can come out with this new championship.

EDIT: Also I think that the problem you mentioned, about "fanta money", wont really be a problem on "high roll" tournaments. I'm mean it's just like poker. I can go all in in a freeroll, but if I'm playing a tournament with a big buy in, I will take a different approach. So I don't really see a problem here.

First, I would like to say that I'm really happy to see the managers of this competition are still working on this!

I will now leave my 2 cents as well. I understand what you are saying about "fanta money", but I don't really see a problem with it.
We had plenty of users that just aimed for big bets as well on the last competitions, and if it worked they would then make low odds bet, if not, they would just switch to another account. amine14madrid was a good example of that type of play and he managed to get top7 two times, and could have easily got there for a third time. A lot of other players did the same.

For me that is just a normal strategy that some guys use, and I'm ok with it. As for multiple accounts, yes they could be a problem, but they will sure add more money to the pot, so I guess I will be ok with that as well.

Since the goal here is to create something like poker tournaments, but then instead of playing poker, users will place tips (for me this is just like playing with chips in a tournament), why not create a tournament where re-buys are allowed?

Well, website idea is good actually. If you can list the best tipsters of the day, week and month on the main page, then people might follow those tipsters and maybe tip them bitcoin, dogecoin etc (we can put our addresses on our profiles and who made profit from our suggestions, they might tip us Smiley
Also i liked the idea of joining fee option. It will create a pool initially. But I suggest to use Dogecoin for starter.

Yes the idea of creating a Player Profile, is so that users can promote themselves in the long run. We had the Hall of Fame, in our previous competition, but the stats weren't that visible. I think this way, things will be easier for all. We might also have in the future, the option for users to place private tips if they want. It could end up being a way of users trying to sell their tips. But for now, we will only focus on the competition itself.

Did not thought about payment options. I know we had a lot of options with directbet, but I'm not sure we will be able to do that now.
I think each tournament will need to have only one coin. All the buy ins will stay on an address, and then we will just divide those coins according to the tournament payout structure. If we have multiple coins for the same tournaments, it could lead to problems if the price of those coins changes to much during the month.

DAVID CHAUM's xx coin SALE IS NOW LIVE!
Important update

Hello everyone, we are still trying to get us a sponsor and will continue to do so.
In the meanwhile we would like to discuss our options on going solo. Right now I thought about two things:

1- A real Tipster Championship
On this one, we would create a website and feed with odds from a sports book. Users would register (just username, password and address for prizes), and would place their tips from the options available. No real bets would be made. We would have a live leaderboard etc.
Users would pay a buy in + small fee (like in a poker tournament) and would participate in the competition for a month. The buy in would go completely for the prize pot, and the fee would be for us to manage the competition (again just like a poker tournament, but it would be Tipster Competition)

2- A betting competition
On this one, we would not create any website. Users would still pay a buy in, and a small fee, but after that they would have to place real bets and post them on the live thread. Everything would have to be done manually, so no liveleaderboard on this one.

I prefer the first option, since it would be easy for us to implement new features etc, and it would be different from what we already have. If you guys like, and even if we get a sponsor, we can actually to both.

Let us know what you think. If we go for the first option, we need to start working on the website.

Hello everyone, I'm afraid I don't have good news.
Things were going pretty well, but there was a draw back and things are more complicated now.

We are still developing the website for this new competition, but I'm not sure we will get everything ready for September as we wanted to.
This puts me in a delicate position because trust is very important to me, and I normally keep my deadlines.

Right now I can only say that we are still developing the website, but I can't promise another launch date.
We are still going for Option 1 (see link bellow), and the plan of action stays the same. Finishing the website, launching the service, and continuing to search for a sponsor at the same time.
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.19582492
Means you are currently creating a gambling site?
Woohoo it's a great spirit bro I really appreciate your hard work. But anyway I really miss directbet Cry

Yes, we will create a gambling site where users will be able to place virtual bets (like tips). Everything will run as in our previous competitions, but the bets will be virtual. The goal is to create multiple competitions (like Sit and Go's in poker tournaments). The prizes will be the buy in's for those competitions, plus some added coins if we manage to get sponsors. Right now we are having some trouble collecting odds for our website (that is still being developed) without having to pay for them (and how to automatically check for winning tips).

Although like I said, we are still creating it, it would be good to know what would be a reasonable buy in for our tournaments. In the future we would also like to have multiple buy ins and tournaments, but right now, we will probably just host one when things are ready to go.

Important Update
