Welcome back - Casinos still seem to be the short term future for the LN on this forum: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.54255122 How can we turn this into a long term solution?

Thanks! Welcome to my old sig camp too (I was there until sr when I left due to changes and joined bitmixer)....

We have a lot of gambling sites already in the ln. It'd probably be one of the first places where the adoption occurs and its nice because there are less traces on the ln - if you want to be a bit more anonymous with your gambling then it's nice (although 777 and others probably do something similar already to anonymise their addresses).

Gambling sites also seemed faster than exchanges to switch over to native segwit acceptance.

I'm back again, available for 12 hours today if anyone wants to submit a request or wants to discuss the ln (if anyone needs info on how to do it).

Do you have a TestNet Lightning setup at all? I've managed to get Lightning on my "home built" Electrum 4.0.0a0 up and running and a channel opened... but it's on TestNet as I wasn't really brave enough to do it on MainNet at the moment Tongue

No I don't deal with testnet. I'd rather risk my funds and learn from my mistakes...

LoyceV or potentially timelord may be able to help there (or daveF). Although it seems loyce might have closed his thread like timelord did - they may still have some testnet funds available though.

My Eclair testnet wallets seem to be still working ok - head over to my lending thread and send me a request.

(Haven't figured out if Blue wallet takes testnet coins as yet.)

There's also the Lightning Network Lenders' (and borrowers) discussion thread if you run into any trouble.

I closed all Testnet Lightning channels just minutes before reading this. I've opened a new one in Eclair Testnet, but that takes a while.
Feel free to PM LoyceMobile a Testnet payment request.

As it turns out... I found a little Lightning TestNet faucet/test thing: https://htlc.me/

They'll give you some free TestNet funds to play with... Wink

Giving this another bump, should be around for at least 6 hours if anyone wants to test out the lightning network.

The transactions were for 10,000 days and a 100 TX fee was added however the balance didn't update for a while then the fee changed to 30 and 34 says for the two TX's.
It usually takes a while to update the balance in BlueWallet (which is one of the things I don't like about the wallet), but I haven't seen it change the fee after a while. You can report it by email or Telegram.
There's also the mystery where my 100000 sat balance turned into 99999 sats, so this might be related.

that should have read 10,000 sats, but my phone just refuses to accept what I wrote is what I meant.  Also as you point out the balance doesn't update and it seems to think the pre transaction balance is still available (IE a double spend situation *might* be able to occur in the minutes/hour until the balance updates).

I think it either wouldn't go through or would find a different route. Negative balances can't be enforced or stored on the LN on a CT since the bitcoin network doesn't support signed integers. (balance is in Satoshi as an unsigned 64bit amount).

I wanted to try a sort of simultaneous transactions via Blue so I could watch something.

The transactions were for 10,000 days and a 100 TX fee was added however the balance didn't update for a while then the fee changed to 30 and 34 says for the two TX's.

I recently did a 150,000 sat LN transaction via Blue and after a while the transaction fee updated to 430 says.

Would this mean the wallet could become overdrawn if you had just 100 says to cover the fee and said fee went up, not down?

Blue Wallet certainly has some mood swings concerning the transaction fees.
It's 0.3-1%. In Eclair, it was up to 3% (but sometimes lower).
Wallet of Satoshi is the only one I've seen that tells me the fee before paying, and it's usually 1 or 2 sats.

Sent! @tl can you give me a period you'll be avaliable. I should be avaliable from 0900-2300utc, if you can bump this within that time tomorrow it'd be appreciated.

As requested, am bumping your thread with a repayment request some eleven hours after the umbilical chord was cut across the channel.
