Looks like we are going to see a repeat of last weeks draw result, with the total amount of tickets for the Lottery at a mind

boggling 1,163,352,553 tickets once again and also a first prize of  BTC2.59694688.

I think it'll be a little lower than last weeks 1.3 Billion. One of the things we introduced stopped some of them but not enough. We've got other things we're working on but wetsuit has been away the last 2 weeks so it is difficult to implement them.

I think, I am going to stop using my

interest to buy Lottery tickets until Wetsuit figured out how to stop these bots from "cheating" in the Lottery. Well, cheating

might be a little harsh, but you get what I am saying.

It's not that they're cheating the lottery, it is that they are cheating the faucet to buy the lottery tickets.

Right on schedule, it is BTCevo's regular weekly signature spam post saying absolutely nothing in barely legible English.

It does look like he's more supportive of it now though (in comparison to not asking people to wager).

And sure, wagering/using the lottery with free btc winings is a good way to go and also gaining enough reward points to start earning on those too. Once the friend gets into bitcoin more he can then come back and wager more or get interest on his earnings.

@BitcoinArsenal once he gets familiar with bitcoin and how it works, you could always look to sending him some of your bitcoin if you have some you can spare on him (maybe as a birthday/christmas present).

Yes, I believe everyone always start from this point when they do not know anything about crypto. This is the best way to earn some amount for free, so I can say you are already in a right path by telling him this. But of course new account will have this very little amount to claim per hour. If he can afford to losr his time just by claiming it them go for it but if not, may be you shoulf ask him to wagered some amount to increase his claim though

A friend of mine wants to start with Bitcoin, but he currently has no money to buy. I am now looking for ways to make it easy for him to start and to find opportunities to earn a few Satoshis. I came across FreeBitco.in. How much can you currently earn there? How much Satoshis do you get per request? And where is the payout limit? Is it recommended for beginners?

This is a wonderful platform to get Bitcoin, however, the chances of getting something tangible is very low. Secondly, you can spend the entire day and end up making nothing. I have tried it.
Overall, it is still a legit site that have been operating for many years and it offers everyone a chance to get some free bitcoin from the site, it is not surprising to see that you have ended up making almost nothing from the site in an entire day, as I believe there are quite a number of members who have used this site for a long time and most of them did not manage to hit the big prizes from the free roll given out per hour yet, but there is still hope in every free roll, and I really like the lottery draw on this site too as it allows members to stand a chance to win some big prizes with the free lottery tickets given out for every free roll that the users claim.

Any plans to implement Segwit?
I think segwit is already enabled, unless you're referring to native segwit bech address
you can withdraw to segwit P2SH address (3...) and in fact the site sends payment from 3... address too

Correct. We use Segwit to pay out withdrawals. Full Segwit support is on the todo list and as I've been using Bech32 wallets since last year I'll continue to nag wetsuit to do it.

Recommended for beginners I'd say yes. Don't expect to make a killing on the site though it's not that much there that you can get free (around $0.02 if you have bad luck - like me - and usually hit the low numbers). It's once every 60 minutes that you get paid. Payout limit is 30000 I think and you have to pay a fee...

Almost, the base reward is $0.002.

You're not going to get much from claiming faucets in the short term but if you keep all those Satoshis they could be worth a lot in a few years from now if history repeats itself. All those of us that have been nearly 5 years have made a good amount.

Buying lottery tickets with free-roll winning has been re-enabled.

Thanks for the answers. That sounds like a fair entry even if the earnings are low for a while. He wants to become familiar with the technology, and if he feels comfortable with it (he's not a tech-savvy person) and has a bit of money, he wants to buy Bitcoin as well. But for the beginning FreeBitco.in is okay for him to start.

That is the thing that all faucets have in common, it is not a quick rich scheme.
You won't win big amounts, but even small amounts can become big in the future. Remember that the site also offers a 4.08 % yearly interest, which is quite nice and generous  Wink.

That's kind of the point as far as I can tell. The free part is to attract people into using other parts of the site: lottery, multiply btc and investments in the site.

How long is it going to be disabled for?

Until wetsuit has time to code up some things we are working on. If they work then we will be able to reverse it.

why do you refuse advertisements?

We used to run adverts and got rid of them for two reasons. Firstly the income dwindled to a tiny amount as advertisers switched away from incentivised sites. That's mainly due to bots as well, who wants to pay for a page impression nobody is going to see? The second reason is that the only advertisers left were dubious looking HYIP scams and we don't want our site to be associated with anything like that.

Take a look at this screen, here it is clear that I have all satoshi who got in free throws, lost in the casino.

My commiserations at losing the free money we gave you. The ban probably means you were doing something that made us very sure you were using a bot.

If I'm not wrong they completely blocked buying lottery tickets with free money which site is providing people. If not, their purpose will be defeated because they want to restrict people from buying tickets who are using bots to get free money.

If they allow users to buy tickets from free money after certain amount deposit then all bot users also can do the same.

That's pretty much it.

<...>We're working on ways to stop them but in the meantime we have disabled the purchase of lottery tickets with free winnings.

Suppose I had 0 balance and then deposit 10k satoshis and use it to buy 10k lottery tickets, can I then roll and use my faucet giveaway balance to buy lottery tickets?

Sorry, you cannot buy lottery tickets with your winnings from the FREE BTC game. You need to deposit bitcoin to buy lottery tickets.

Doh thats a shame for the little guys, pity it cant just be limited or linked to the fact I've been messing about with this site for a while.  Where as a bot type operation will just spam in the new accounts and not really value or place any normal kind of regular traffic to the site, I would guess there is a difference in activity between the two but perhaps its too slight to discern :/

I also agree on the advertising idea, so long as its quite subtle and not intrusive I dont think that many people mind an occasional advert to help with a sites upkeep.   Before Bitcoin, advertising was the kind of currency that kept the internet alive with its little flow of funds.
That just now goes against the website's name. Might be the case that the website wants to earn profits.

More people deposit = more people will automatically be attracted towards multiply btc game. And with thag hugh 5% house edge people will loose.
Thus generating an overall profit for the website

This is the message I'm getting today.

Sorry, you cannot buy lottery tickets with your winnings from the FREE BTC game. You need to deposit bitcoin to buy lottery tickets.

Then faucet money is only for playing dice game right?

I was visiting this site to buy free lottery tickets a few times in a week. Not lucky for over a year so not sure in future as well.

Thank you...
