Maybe you just got unlucky with the IPs that you got and those were linked to something else like a vpn or a tor exit node that was known for it's "evil"... I think that's more likely thant wetsuit whitelisting a certain IP without someone PMming him.

The interest you normally earn from a miner is normally less because of the large charge to produce the miner but it's plausible that you can get 0.3% per day in interest if they don't take very much profit from it and they then get the miners after the 30 days you funded them for...
