I think you can mine several cents worth of BTC per day this way, but I may be wrong. It's interesting to see the actual data.
It really depends on what hardware you have. I'm using a 4-year-old i5 so I'm not getting much but if it's a relatively new and efficient processor you should make more.
I thing graphic card are best for mining.

That depends on what you are mining, this is designed for CPU mining.

Thanks for posting! Looks interesting. Why my account wasn't chosen? Smiley

Just wait, they'll roll it out to you soon.

What are threads? And how many satoshis do you mine per day?

CPU threads for multicore processors.

So, it looks like it's not a cloud mining. They propose you to mine using your power. Am I right?

Correct, I'm guessing we're mining XMR which is then traded for BTC. Not sure if they set up their own pool or are using another.

What mining option are you talking about, guys? I have no such option in my account, but I think I got it, it's in testing mode in some accounts. But what is it? Can some one who have it post a screenshot maybe? Is freebitco.in starting cloud mining or is it something else?

Sure it looks like this:

They haven't really said what it is yet.

Use your browser to passively mine bitcoin and receive mining rewards instantly to your FreeBitco.in account, credited every 5 minutes.

Please note that this feature is currently experimental and is only available to a limited number of users. Once it is rolled out across the website, we shall be able to increase the mining rewards further.

Click on START MINING and then adjust the number of threads and CPU percentage to use for mining. Usually the higher the number of threads and CPU capacity that you use, the greater your mining rewards will be. The default is to start with as many threads as the number of CPU cores that your device has and 100% CPU usage. Lower the CPU usage when you are using the device for something else and increase it to 100% when your device is idle.

Mining will stop when the STOP MINING button is clicked or this browser tab is closed. You can use your account to mine from multiple devices at the same time. Mining rewards are automatically credited to your account for every satoshi that you earn and the TOTAL MINING INCOME in this page shows the total rewards that you have received from mining since the beginning.

Friends, some of you have noticed the mining option available in your account. This feature is currently in beta testing. We've deployed it to a select number of random accounts. Once we're confident it's working properly and providing value we'll release it to the entire community. We don't know yet how long this will take.

I'll be offering more updates as we proceeed.

In the meantime, for those of you that have been selected as a bet a tester, feel free to share your thoughts with me (the good and the bad) - please PM me. Thanks!

Myfe, could you suggest the afiliate earnings you would get rom what you have done with your referral link, i'd be very interested to see what the potential of merely sharing it here would do?

I get a 25% bump in earnings per week through my referrals. It's not a killing but noticeable. The trick is to share your referral code with everyone you encounter. When you offer people the link to FreeBitco.in, make it your referral link...every time!

how is the mining works ?

I was also looking for this mining option in my account but have nothing now I am happy I am not alone in this case some other users  also have no mining option I think OP working for this and will announce in future if this project is still alive or no

So this mining option is not available for all users? I just checked my account and I can see this new option. Looking forward other users to share their experience using this feature. If it is worth enough probably I will try but since it is using browser, dont you guys think that it may damage our PC? Is this still working if the shutdown our PC/close the browser?

Big fan of FreeBitco.in, for people who don't have the money to invest in BTC and want to try it, dip there toes in. Faucets are great goes they give people a little they can either hold (and wait till it goes to the moon) or use it. It's how I first got BTC back in 2013, and I was hooked.

Whatever you earn bitcoins from faucet sites is not worth for the time you spend on these sites to claim. Even though bitcoins go to moon you can't make a big amount from these things. It is only for the beginners to good to explore but slowly needs to move on to other things to earn bitcoins.

Now while mining you do need to refresh your page when time out. Grin

Mining? Never heard of mining with freebitco.in in this long time I have been visiting them.

Perhaps you are using mining term wrongly.

They only introduced to few people. My account also shows mining option. Just started to try out and will update later.

https://bit.ly/387FXHi lightning theory
The last I knew, traffic type wasn't being blocked, only DNS and specific websites were, along with certain mining software being added to the antivirus, but nothing that would actually block the activity. But I know they've gotten better since then, so who knows!  Huh

I didn't see anything specific in the page source about how the mining is actually happening, but I'm horrible at looking at page sources. I suppose if their system is sophisticated enough it could be stripping out the program that the site is bringing with it to mine? I don't know how the mining is implemented in the website to know how that happens, but now that I stop to think about it's probably a JavaScript based mining, but again I don't know and I'm horrible looking at sources. I'm just curious so that I can figure out a way to get it working at work Smiley I had hoped that since it was in a browser instead of a program on my computer that can be scanned for would make it work, but it looks like that might not be the case here.

The program will definitely require quite a large maount of bandwidth for it to function in mining (though I'm not specifically sure of this amount, but it'll have to tyr and keep connecting to your device every 100 milliseconds at least to check its status).

It's unlikely it'll be blocking the entire site as you then wouldn't be able t access the site at all.

And the script will either be PHP or JavaScript. It might be an idea to check the addons that have been added to your work computer such as NoScript which would interfere with this system (and normally be used to ensure staff don't download stuff that they don't want to and contaminate the work's computer systems and servers).

I was wondering if anybody has been able to figure out what site the mining is connecting to? I get 0 hashes when I'm connected to my work network, but 5-15 hash/s when I'm connected to any other network. I'm assuming that my work is filtering the pool that it's trying to connect to, but I'm not able to find the pool the freebitco.in mining is attempting to connect to.

I'm not sure but I know Wetsuit is big into mining so I wouldn't put it past him to have set up his own pool. Also, it's quite possible depending on what type of firewall your office is using that they are filtering traffic type. I haven't been involved in that stuff since 2005ish but we were using proxy firewalls that could filter on data content however it was tunneled even back then.

EDIT: lol, I haven't posted in these forums in two and a half years and those referral codes in my signature still work! I guess it shows that this faucet has been one of the few stable things in Bitcoin.  Grin

It's because it is experimental and open only for some users. With freebitco.in you can now mine btc with your computer/device cpu. Hash rate is low of course (5 to 15 H/s personally), depending on the cpu you have.  It gives a few satoshis. And you can run it on several computers at the same time.

Oh my gosh you’re so lucky! I have been rolling my free bitcoins in freebit for almost a month but I never had a chance to roll such amount like yours. I just waste my free btc in playing bet hi or lo. I don’t also know if it’s a cloud mining or whatever.
