wetsiut, Just out of academic ( and potentially entrepreneurial) interest, what other forms of revenue ( other than advertisements )  do you realize from the site ?

The advertising option will be phased out in the coming weeks. People were losing money by investing in pozi's and depositing in fake gambling websites after seeing their ads on freebitco.in and thinking that they were somehow trusted because we were showing their banners.

Simply disallowing these types of websites hasn't helped because now these advertisers are creating a faucet website to get approval and then redirecting to ponzi's and gambling websites after their websites are approved. I do not have the resources to monitor all active ads regularly and so it makes more sense to just disable the advertising option.

Once it is disabled, ads that are active will continue to be shown until they run out. Any future deposits sent to the advertising deposit address will be credited to the main balance after this.

You can still create ads now. I shall start phasing this out within the next 2 weeks.

The database server had crashed which caused downtime of about 3 hours. Everything is back up and running now though and there is 3x reward points until the end of this Sunday UTC to compensate for the downtime. Also active bonuses during this time have been extended by 8 hours.

good to see you mate, the owner of the oldest running faucet  Cool, the $200 win gave your site a much needed advertisement and hopefully it made the system crash, one more doubt i am having is about the lottery, is the lottery functional ,i would like to hear from the owner

It's a fun thing to do, but it's definitely not FREE money. The only FREE money, will be if you WIN that $200 and there are no proof that it ever happened to anyone in the 3 to 4 years of this sites existence.

They have mastered the method to draw people to their site, with the promise of FREE money, < Both hourly and in the Lottery > but nobody has ever reported that they have won ANY of the big < carrots >

Nice site, nice people, but I feel that we are getting fooled by these juicy carrots. Greed just clouds our judgement.  Sad

mysteriously amid all these discussions a mystery just happened ,a user claiming to win the $200 roll it is quite surprising as i am hearing this for the first time. My guess is that the owner saw this thread  Grin

Wow, first time I see someone really wins $200 on freebitco.in. I even created a new account there after I saw this, because it looks like it's true. ) My first roll gave me 0.00000315 BTC though. But let's see what happens in the future, I hope I can win $200 too.

I was a frequent user of freebitco.in couple of years ago and I have won $2 there several times but after many $0.002 I'd lost my interest. Now I'm at it again. )

Wow is this not timed perfectly, or what? In all the years of this faucets existence, NOBODY has ever claimed that they have won the hourly $200, and now that I have highlighted this fact, suddenly a user reports that he or she won the elusive $200 maximum faucet payout.

I have to say, this puts the cherry on the cake for me. ^ROFL^!!!!!

I Think  the site ( freebitco.in) and freedige.co.in ( their sister site ) is down ?
Its showing me a "Error 521:Web server is down" error.

Call it my luck .. I just deposited some huge amount there ..

I first got error code 500 but then it loaded the page (but it's still rolling)

same problem here FreeBitco.in is total down and freedoge.co.in is loading but claiming the faucet  is not possible at this moment. It happens not that much that they are down so expect thay they will be fast online again.

Noticed also that you can't withdraw small amounts of doge anymore. Minimum withdraw amount of 600Doge thanks to the abusers.

You do not find it strange, that nobody has ever reported on ANY forum that they have won ANY of the bigger prizes? Remember, they are saying $200 per hour and then 1 to 3 BTC in total for the lottery every week. Nobody?

This will never be proven either way, so we are wasting our time discussing this. ^hmmmmm^

It is true that it can be manipulated, but to be honest, most Bitcoin games can be manipulated.

In the case of freebitco.in it is very difficult to proove anything.. Some time ago here on Bitcointalk was thread about winnings there. In around six months nobody show real proof of the highest winning.

As you wrote - even if someone will show tx it can be just shill account.

But winnings of around 0.04 are quite frequent.

as per my view i am using for more then 2 yrs and but i have never seen any winner to claim either and one more thing is who ever are old players whos ids are 6 digits are never won any lottery, only 7 digits and new account are winning always, but that too are mostly from the site owner itself on the top 7 numbers some time in the lower bottom of winner they can select any one , to show that they are genuine.

even the payout is also made high and the faucet claim amount has become half. Now it is really waste of time to use freebitco site.

You still promote a lottery in your signature, so I guess you are kind of biased when it comes to statements like this. I have nothing against Freebitco.in, and would want nothing more than seeing some transparent method to prove, that these claims are genuine.

Any site generates reports and these reports should be made available to the public. Bitcoin addresses could be partly removed to show that payments are done. This can be done, for both the lottery and the hourly payouts. You do not even have to give 24 hour reports. Just take any random report and blank out the Bitcoin address or the internal identifier and post it in this thread.

In the beginning the lottery draw results was instantly updated, now it takes a while for the results to be shown? Why.

Seeing people on this forum, reporting that they won 20 cents are not proof of anything. The bigger payouts and the top levels of the lottery are the concern. ^hmmmm^

Reward goes down, probably because they lost Google AdSense account - there is no more google advertisement on website. Probably earnings from MellowAds are lower and thats why they have to reduce prizes.

Well as far freebitco.in lottery is concern, why we should put a quite trust about their lottery. It's an obvious that chances to win there is really low even you bought a bunch of tickets. Back then, there was a discussion if by any chance, there's a case that the one who won from their lottery has also an active account here in bitcointalk but unfortunately no one (afaik) have the claims like that.

So in here, it's part of their strategy to bring more visitors to their sites aside from their faucet.

Everyone can use any marketing tricks to bring more customers. Freebitco.in have this kind of technic and it for me is very fair. They give for free a lot of Bitcoins every month, and their never fail.

Lottery or high-low game is just kind of gambling, and everyone who is starting with that should to know that can win, but also can lose everything.

In other way it looks like you get something for free, you can gamble that, and you can win even more. If you lose that what you get for free, actually don't make you loser, it was just not lucky day/game for you.

So you do not pay for your electricity then? The amount of electricity you spend, to browse to this site and then to solve the Capthca is more than the few Satoshi's that you will receive from it. How much are you being paid per hour in your job? Take that hourly rate, and divide it into minutes, and then calculate how much you get paid per minute.

Compare the amount of money you get paid per minute in your full time job, with the 1 to 5 minutes you spend to login to freebitco.in and then to solve that Captcha, then add the electricity you spend to do that, and see if hourly payout of 300 to 500 Satoshi's will show you a profit? ... My guess... NOT.

It's a fun thing to do, but it's definitely not FREE money. The only FREE money, will be if you WIN that $200 and there are no proof that it ever happened to anyone in the 3 to 4 years of this sites existence.

So we are coming to the disscussion about that nothing is for free Wink Yes, of course nothing is for free, but comparing it to play mahjong or other games when you have fun, you also have to pay for electricity and you "lose" your time.

I'm taking this "costs" like an obvious thing.

This kind of game giving you chance to win "something" without risk of investing money.

I think it is very fair. Always you can play any other game that you like and just lose your time and electricity..(without opportunity to win some Bitcoins) Wink

My friend, there is a difference. The game you are playing are not promising you $200 per hour as a incentive to play it. You play the game < Mahjong > for the entertainment value, not to win something. Most people do not make these calculations and are blinded by the carrot <$200 per hour promise>

If this site was audited by a independent organization, you would probably see no $200 per hour payout going to some random address. There might even be $200 per hour payouts, but who says these payouts are not going to the owners own Bitcoin addresses. < Freebitco.in do not have to give proof of anything, because they use privacy and Bitcoin Pseudo anonymity as a reason >
