Thanks, yes, that's true.
But if you are Elon Musk, you dont have to worry about any scams. Freewallet and other similar services will let you withdraw coins as soon as they realize who you are.
But if we talk about usual people, some of them cant withdraw assets even after several years (!) of "verification"

I do not know much about Freewallet but I am in no doubt scammers will always scam and many of those that did not intend to scam when they started their businesses could easily get tempted. For those reasons, everybody should be keeping their coins safe with no third party having access to them.

I checked the link (freewalletscam website mentioned by the OP) but it does not work. It is a pity the he did not post in the forum again after creating this thread but I suppose the most important thing for him was thankfully, he does not seem to have been selectively scammed and was just posting a warning others about the Freewallet scam.

Their selective KYC/AML check scam has been going on for years. The authorities need to arrest those responsible.  I think there is a group action against them but I haven’t checked the status of it in a while.

Elon Musk once tore into them - https://news.bitcoin.com/musk-shoots-down-crypto-wallet-app-freewallet-after-it-tried-to-ride-his-dogecoin-fame/

One more case of Freewallet scam
If this application were trusted, would there be so many victims of such a scheme?
But the administration may well prove that this is just a misunderstanding. Unblock all clients' accounts. Give the opportunity to transfer coins to another wallet. Not a single blockchain specifies any KYC/AML verification obligations in its rules! Your service does not have any licenses! On what basis do you block accounts?

Unfortunately, this is one of the "benefits" of having a company that operates exclusively online and that uses its terms of service to harass clients in order to get them to give up their funds. I wouldn't even be surprised if there might be some kind of state element behind everything that is trying to convince people that cryptocurrencies are a big scam - and anyone who has such a bad experience with FW will probably not even try to try another wallet.

I partly agree with you. The indifference on the part of law enforcement officers from different countries shows that they are not very interested in investigating crimes involving cryptocurrencies. With the technology available today, it is not difficult to find the owners of the application, but so far it has only been possible to send requests in 2 countries.

It seems to me that they are implementing a tactic called "everyone is guilty until proven innocent".
This is the genius of their trick. The terms of service directly state that the user is aware of the company’s right to block any account for any period and require any documents for identification. Honestly, if I were a law enforcement officer, I would also look at such rules and say “okay, you yourself voluntarily agreed to this? What are the complaints against Freewallet?”

From a business perspective, FW has complete freedom to set whatever conditions they want and enforce them in the way they want, regardless of how harsh it sounds and how it affects their customers. What is most surprising is the fact that no one can or does not want to put an end to them, as if they are not actually doing anything wrong in all this.

But on the other hand, we understand that this is just an excuse to block accounts, right? Above, I have already shown the story of a client who provided scans of documents, video interviews via Skype, etc. for KYC. And what? His wallet is still frozen. Hey, Freewallet. Look at the correspondence with a client named Stan? Didn't he give you screenshots and photos of all the documents. Isn't what you are doing a scam?

But as long as this user’s wallet remains blocked, like the accounts of hundreds of other clients, we will continue to confidently assert: Freewallet uses KYC just as an excuse to steal your assets!

I do not think they are following this topic and if they had an account here then we could think about the following. And the more important thing is that if you have any contact with them then better contact with them. Though I think they will not provide any positive response if they are really scammer.

Well they are present on bitcointalk.
Ok.
Freewallet often claims that all situations with KYC are just because Freewallet follows some "legal terms".
Ok.
Here is another story of a client being scammed by Freewallet
https://medium.com/@frwttruth/cfe44cea3b2e
We removed all private data but if Freewallet wants so they definetely can find what client we are talking about

Unblock this client’s wallet. This is elementary, and you can immediately proudly announce yet another ridiculous accusation.

But as long as this user’s wallet remains blocked, like the accounts of hundreds of other clients, we will continue to confidently assert: Freewallet uses KYC just as an excuse to steal your assets!

Another story of a user being scammed by Freewallet

Dear Freewallet employees. I know you are following this topic closely. You write complaints that we are supposedly engaged in phishing mailings and deception (although what kind of phishing are we talking about at all). However, it doesn't matter. Come on, prove that this is all just a misunderstanding. Unblock the victim’s wallet (I’m sure you can easily find the ticket number from the text of the correspondence).

Refute our statement that you are just scammers who are blocking client assets under the pretext of KYC.

Great news! One of the victims of the Freewallet scam managed to withdraw coins after six months of being ignored!

https://medium.com/@frwttruth/c7a1e23f8b78

After the victim warned Freewallet's administration of a potential police report and posted negative reviews, the company finally allowed him to withdraw his assets. This suggests that Freewallet’s administration may indeed fear legal action and public scrutiny. We recommend that anyone facing similar issues follow the same approach—file complaints and share their experiences to expose Freewallet's actions!

We would like to appeal to all those affected, especially those who are US citizens. Today, most American states have passed laws that strengthen measures against online fraud, including crypto scams. This is your chance to stop Freewallet

https://freewalletreviews.org/countries-organizations/

Here is a list of federal authorities to which you can contact with a complaint (by email or via an online form). Please take 10-15 minutes to help us stop scammers!

I do not agree that filing complaints, abuses, or calling the police is a waste of time. Moreover, you can even find cases here on the forum where users managed to withdraw coins after their problem became public. Any publication of your story already increases the chances of returning the coins. The same applies to official statements about a crime.
Believe me, you only need to spend 10 minutes a day. But if every victim does this, then the problem can be solved!

By the way, I see a lot of readers and those who left comments in this thread. But unfortunately, there are very few active users who leave complaints and take other actions against Freewallet. If you have a couple of minutes, we would be grateful if you could take the short survey. It is anonymous and will help you understand why many victims are not ready to do anything to block Freewallet and get their coins back.

Thank you!
Does anyone really want to waste time on something that will not bring results? the police are inactive. they do not even respond to statements about crimes committed offline. It’s foolish to hope that they will want to search the Internet for some unknown scammers

Only active actions will help stop crypto scammers who own Freewallet org

We see many similar stories and have spoken with dozens of victims. Unfortunately, only a part of them are ready to be active to stop scammers and take back their assets. Our main problem is that we do not act together. According to our data, thousands of Freewallet clients have already experienced asset theft. If each of them sends one complaint, there will be thousands of them in total. But this must be done simultaneously in one list of organs. For starters, this should include local law enforcement agencies, as well as regulators like the FCA.

1. Share your story with us. We will help you file complaints and appeals to law enforcement officers for free. Write to us at [email protected].

2. File a formal crime report with your local police. In some countries this can be done online. But even if you need to be present in person to submit an application, don’t be lazy to spend a couple of hours. Remember that only government agencies have the ability to force the scammer to return your money!

3. Send similar complaints to British, American, European and international structures. In particular, FCI, NFIB etc. We can send you the full list after contacting us by email.

4.Post your complaints and comments. Quora, Medium, Bitcointalk, Trustoilot, Sitejabber: wherever there is a mention of Freewallet there should be your stories about how scammers stole your savings.

5. Sign our petition.

6. If you know others affected by Freewallet, please forward this text to them.

The opportunities to locate real Freewallet owners have only law enforcements, who can send official requests.
So that we hope that as many Freewallet scam victims as possible will fill their complaints

With all due respect bullshit

Those fucking entities:

1. Freewallet.com
2. Hitbtc.com
3. Minergate.com

Are in fact one fucking criminal entity and I did my homework and investigated this shit years ago.

Follow the rabbit to Talinn, Eston whoria and you'll find your piece of shit low life east euro trash whore cheap thief. For that I am certain.

Those shit hole of countries are beyond cheap and corrupt and he probably owned the police and his shitttt government representatives he and suspected his bitch whore sister partner most likely paid their shitty authorities and no matter what you all fucking do you'll never get to them. One fucktoy femboy euro boy and his emo anal slut incest sister.

Solution is to pay a higher price for Estonia shit government then you'll find what you seek. I am hundred percent sure the fucker criminal head and partner are Estonian euro trash sons of bitches.

We have an interesting announcement for readers. The police of one of the countries (we wrote about this case a few weeks ago) sent an official request to Hong Kong to obtain information from local authorities about the location and owners of Freewallet. Let me point out right away that it is not a fact that law enforcement will be able to obtain this information. Especially considering that, according to our data, their legal address is nominal, there is no real office in Hong Kong. But we hope that this will be the first step towards an interesting investigation.
I may be mistaken but they mentioned Indonesia on their website?

Hey man, Estonia isnt as bad as you think, i wish it was, but its not. Be that as it may, if you can locate him or better yet his family, estonia, london, portugal, moldova, ukraine, france, italy, germany, hungary, bulgaria or wherever else i guarantee you that people will get their money back. No police no need to involve the police in that.
