Monaco had a quite comfortable match against Clermont and defeated them by 2-0 at the end. The first half was fully under their control and they scored two goals in the first 15 minutes already. This was enough for Monaco to weaken their opponent early. The score would have been bigger if they didn't waste many more opportunities. The second half was a chance for Clermont as Monaco started to be complacent. But they weren't good at finishing despite finding opportunities to score.
With this win Monaco have increased their unbeaten series to seven matches in the Ligue 1. They are also likely to get past Lens in the standings soon.

Lens have lost a lot of momentum recently. There was another point loss for them today against Brest this time. Brest aren't a team that can steal any point from Lens while Lens are having a good season normally. But Lens must have lost their concentration these days. Messi's goal was really great. There was not even a full goal opportunity yet, but even half a goal opportunity was enough to score a goal for Messi. Yes, Messi was great in the Toulouse game, but I think Messi is sometimes alone in Paris Saint-Germain. He stays alone on the field in some positions. If Paris Saint-Germain had a few more players who could play in harmony with Messi, they could have won the league more comfortably this season. I'm not saying Neymar and Mbappe are bad players. Everyone would be surprised if someone else scored Messi's goal against Toulouse. But Messi got us used to these goals so much that we are no longer surprised by him. It would have been worst if Lionel Messi was the one missing in the match against Toulouse. We could see how unyielding the PsG attack was when Messi was yet to return from the world cup break. I see Messi has a special kind of Character in every Match, His career is backed and grounded on inborn talent, and that's the reason why age will only take little or nothing from his performance. Mesi indeed proved his worth in the Match against Toulouse.

No one really knows when the PSG team will perform well in the Champions League. PSG's performance in the Champions League is lacking and other smaller teams are ahead of them in terms of performance. Personally so far I think PSG is the best club for Ligue 1.

PSG - Toulouse was a really scary game actually. Because this was another game PSG struggled to get a win comfortably.

What someone learnt in the youthful age cannot be forgotten easily in the old age. In as much as Messi is still playing football he can always and he will always score wonderful goals.
Psg may likely seem that they are better than Bayern Munich for now but there is a spirit that comes with champions league and when that spirit comes the game will move to another level of vibration.

Lens are the best team in League One. They are advancing day by day. They are struggling with teams like PSG. Defeating other teams. The Lens will become a much better team.
In as much as I admire what Lens is doing, I doubt they can keep it up after this season. We saw it with Lille and Monaco. For you to remain at that level as a top team you need to sign top players and Lens don't have the facilities for that.
Even this season, despites PSG's poor form they cant still climb top of the table because they lack a lot of things that the big teams have and that is the reason I admire them a lot. For them to be where they are with the kind of resources they have is something to be applauded.
I would be glad if there were some clubs being acquired by billionaires or arabian consortium.
