FIFA World Cup 2022 have been over and Argentina success become the champion, keep forward and right now all player focus with their team preparing Ligue 1 matchday 16 begin on next week. I don't think with PSG player Lionel Messi and Mbappe will absent at the first match for PSG after World Cup, actually they have little time taking rest after their national team playing in FIFA World Cup final,

Next schedule match for matchday 16

  • AC Ajaccio vs Angers
  • Troyes vs Nantes
  • Auxerre vs Monaco
  • Clermont Foot vs Lille
  • Brest vs Lyon
  • Paris Saint-Germain vs Strasbourg
  • Lorient vs Montpellier
  • Reims vs Rennes
  • Marseille vs Toulouse
  • Nice vs Lens

Which one matches in your waiting list for watching next week? I sure PSG will not in the full team have potential with Mbappe and Lionel Messi are absent.

Attack at PSG has always been very strong, it was the same until the final and remains the same, but in the team all positions and interaction between the players are important. PSG have not had rivals in Ligue 1 for a long time, they play without real competition in such a situation it is difficult to develop, they are constantly in a state where everything is fine and the only stress is the Champions League. Maybe that's not enough to win?
After I saw the performance of Messi and Mbappe during the World Cup, what should I worry about?
It's true that Bayern Munich are a tough opponent, but that should be balanced against the quality of PSG's current players.

We know how experienced Bayern Munich is in the Champions League, but for this season I have no doubts about PSG's play. Everyone will be fighting for a place at a higher stage, and I think PSG will do well in the last 16. There are two match, home and away so I don't think PSG will let go of both with a loss.

Lens is one of the team that surprised us this season they are currently ranked number 2 and they totaly deserved that spot they have beaten many top teams, like marseille lyon monaco and Rennes, next they will face nice who are struggling this season unlike the previous one and i think they can beat them so i dont think they will be the second position anytime soon.

PSG is really lucky to have both of them in one team. Messi and Mbappe were absolutely outstanding during the World Cup but of course there can only be one winner and one loser in the end. Meanwhile, the collaboration between Messi, Mbappe and Neymar has so far been quite good at PSG. This season Messi is of course different, he feels better and I think that is a feeling he has really proven.

In the last 15 matches, Messi has only played in 13 and he has managed to score 7 goals and 10 assists. His contribution has been more prominent than last season, so it will be great for him and PSG. In total, PSG has scored 43 goals in 15 matches, and I think the collaboration between the three of them will be even better this season.

In World Cup 2022, Messi did tried a lot and run more than he usually run in non World Cup 2022 matches. He won it not only by being lucky but by playing and fighting seriously for his dream. His dream after all became true. He lifted the trophy a first time and last time too. Now he can retire with full satisfaction for his career achievement.

Mbappe already won one World Cup but he has yet won Euro, Champions League and Ballon d'Or. At Mbappe age, Messi already won a few Ballon d'Ors.

Not only that, a player like Mbappe is even extraordinary, because if France didn't have Mbappe then I don't think France would have been able to score a goal in the final against Argentina yesterday. What's more, Mbappe made a hat trick in the final and of course that's not something easy to achieve.
Likewise about Messi who succeeded in giving the World Cup title to Argentina at the end of his career for Argentina so yes, the PSG squad at this moment is indeed very good and of course they are better prepared to go even further in the Champions League.
France scored their goals because of Argentina mistakes from Otamendi first and a third goal is a mistake of VAR referee team. I believe that penalty can be rejected by VAR team because the defender of Argentina did not let his arm too open and it is an unavoidable arm touch from him after a powerful kick from Mbappe.

A hattrick and two of them are from penalty. I only recognized what Mbappe did in the final in a second goal and a few dangerous personal attacks when Argentina players were tired and can not catch Mbappe with his high speedy run.

Mbappe and Messi and Neymar have a good relationship so far. They are professional players and as far as we can see on the pitch, the two PSG attackers seem to get along well despite competing to be the best in the World Cup. Messi is lucky to have won his first title, while Mbappe also did it 4 years ago.

Mbappe may not have brought home the victory during the latest world cup but that has had no impact on him as far as his skills as a professional footballer goes. In contradiction, the very fact that he showed the world his skills match Messi's toe to toe, impressed a lot of people, me included.

This definitely was Mbappes winning the war but losing the battle. And I have never heard of Mbappe having troubles with Messi, so I would agree with the previous posters that that was all a fabrication just to sell the news and therefore get more views. People will be trying to squeeze all they can out of his current popularity, even if it means spreading bad/fake news.
Not everything that is reported in the media is fact or something that is true, but that's how the media is. People keep running their heads to get attention and profit from the slightest thing they see, but of course things aren't going to be the same as they say so I tend not to believe it at first glance.

France lost a chance to be a first team can protect their trophy after Brazil many years ago. Mbappe will return to PSG with bad mood and relationship with Messi and Neymar. Neymar congratulated Messi but did not show anything for Mbappe.

Will PSG be able to win Champions League with internal conflict of their biggest attacking players?
Don't forget Mbappe is the most important player in PSG and he has a control to choose his teammates, managers etc, this mean Mbappe can request to put Messi on bench until he's satisfied with his revenge. Technically PSG has the best strikers among other clubs since they have Messi and Mbappe who become man of the match from the final world cup, while Neymar is also important for Brazil.

I think PSG is currently have an awkward situation or internal conflict between Mbappe and Messi, it just depends on Mbappe ego, he's young and a selfish person, so he can't control his own emotion.
I think Mbappe doesn't really have a problem with Messi and people are just making up drama to sell more papers that's it, and get more views. Look at how they play together, of course Mbappe would be unhappy about the fact that he lost to Messi, that is only human but he is grown enough to know that this is football and Messi has to work hard to beat Mbappe, that's the goal of playing, anyone in the entire world that plays against Mbappe will play to beat him, that's the nature of the game.

All in all he accepted a huge deal from PSG, biggest ever, and we are going to just have to accept that Messi is there for a while longer as well, and they will play together without an issue.
Mbappe's situation is the opposite of Messi's. He, too, wanted very much to win the Cup and did his best. He scored all three goals in that game, making him the second to get a hat-trick at the World Cup. He's only 24 and already doing very well, and unlike Messi, he's already had a world title. I'm sure he'll be just as great a footballer, if he isn't already. About their relationship with Messi, I don't think they will have any disagreements within the club, they are both normal people, not like Ronaldo or Ibrahimovich.

But I think at this moment there is a greater factor, because PSG players can be players who have a very big influence on their national team squad at the World Cup event yesterday. Even more amazing about Morocco, because there are also PSG players like Achraf Hakimi and even though he is a defender, Achraf Hakimi has made a big contribution to Morocco to advance to the final to fight for third place.
Even though in the end Morocco lost by Croatia, still, their big contribution will still have a great impact on their experience and career.

Mbappe is very important for PSG. Because he is only 23 years old. On the other hand, Messi, Ramos or Neymar are great players. But they are quite old. They will not be able to serve the team for a long time. Messi is 34 years old. He is likely to leave PSG next season. Neymar on the other hand is a great player but his fitness is not good. And so Mbappe is now the most important player for PSG. Also Mbappe's performance in this World Cup is really impressive. If Messi, Neymar and Mbappe can maintain this form then PSG won't find it difficult to win the Champions League title.
I think you overestimate the success of part of the PSG players in the World Cup, bookmakers continue to quote the probability of PSG winning the Champions League as 7.90 - which is even worse than Bayern (6.70), not to mention City (2.40). Club football is probably about a team game and not about a lottery or a set of stars (as one can sometimes say about national teams). In this sense, PSG looks worse than their opponents, they are still a team of stars, but no more.

I would say that in terms of winning the Champions League title, the favorite team does not always win the title. Manchester City have been favorites for the past few seasons. But they still can't be champions. Last season PSG and Manchester City were favourites, but Real Madrid won the title. On the other hand, Chelsea won the title in the previous season. No one imagined that Chelsea would win the Champions League title. And so I would say every team in the Champions League knockout round should be considered favourites. Every team has the potential to become champions.

Even though in this case everything depends on the game as a team for PSG and we know PSG's problems are still quite felt internally, especially for several players.
With their opponents Bayern even I personally have a little doubt about PSG in the last 16 regardless of how good the players are in the world cup but when playing as a team Bayern are now quite the favourites.

It may be your statement is correct but as I know in early days of season there were few problems between these biggest stars, but after interference of management things are normal because PSG management give special treatment to Mbappé which was not good and few other players were not happy with this all, but they settle this all quickly because now management is very clear about their future which is related with the success of Champions League.

There was clear statement if PSG fail to win this competition than most chances current owners will sell this club and many players were never like this because right now they are having luxury salaries and bonuses with new coach is also doing good job even he has not good experience in Champions League but working with good strategy which is helping them for having better results.

It is their financial ability that makes Paris Saint Germain very strong in Ligue 1. They don't think much when it comes to signing star players they don't even hesitate to spend a lot of money to get those players. Regarding Mbappe, yes, maybe he was a little over the top when he gave him very special treatment, that also made it a little difficult for him to control himself because he realized he was special. But it must be admitted that what he showed with his national team was extraordinary.
I also think that Paris Saint Germain's dominance will be very difficult to stop, unless there is a club that has the ability like Paris Saint Germain, especially in finance.
If we have same management in future no one going to challenge PSG because they are spending money without any hesitation, and they have enough funds which can give them good advantage so things looking good with Mbappé is also again at his best with his performance in world cup and Messi is also going to stay here for some more time which will give them good power and chance to win Champions League.

Now they are going to face Bayern Munich which is also strong but sadly due to injuries now having issues which will prevent them from having spot into last eight of Champions League in next round, even still it's never been easy for PSG because we have Manchester City and few more tough teams in competition.
I think as long as some other rich people don't invest in Ligue 1 clubs then things like this won't change because it's likely to become like the bundesliga with the hegemony of Bayern.
Even though in the previous 2 seasons there was Lille who was able to break it off but now there will be no one who can for that, regardless of anything resources are everything and PSG are too different from other clubs.

The match is still long enough because it will be held in February so the current injury doesn't necessarily have an impact but it could also be the other way around. There are several possibilities that could occur.

PSG is one of the best teams in the world, but has mainly been bought together. Manchester City is also one of the best teams in the world, but that's more of a team. It has been the same for PSG supporters for years. They normally become champions every time, but in the CL they fail season after season. I do feel that this PSG is the strongest team we have ever seen from Paris. You could also think of imaginative lineups in which the B team of PSG can be lined up in certain matches in the competition. It's strange that Lille won the title a few seasons ago. Almost unthinkable when you think about it.

Will PSG be able to win Champions League with internal conflict of their biggest attacking players?

I wonder about this as well. Because we clearly saw what Messi did against Mbappe after Argentina scored a goal. Mbappe had revenge on that later on by doing the same to Messi. I don't know maybe it was due to adrenaline because of playing in maybe the most critical game of their lives. But it still made me have some doubts about the relationship between them.

If we really see conflict at PSG as well then they might be in trouble in the Champions League. Because the trio need to play coherently with each other to have a bigger chance for the title. Otherwise they would be more selfish which would make things more difficult for the team.

Mbappe is returning to PSG's games again by a disappointing result in the World Cup. He made a really huge effort and satisfied the expectations for sure. But they could have won the cup as well if they were able to play better as a team. I hope this result won't affect his performance at PSG badly for some time. Because this was a meaningful tournament for him as well just as it was for Messi.
Mbappe played very bad in about first 70 minutes but he suddenly scored two goals for France. Starting by a mistake of Otamendi, Mbappe scored 1 then 2 goal to bring France back to the match. Later he scored another third goal, another equalizer for France. In the final, France made lot of challenge and fear for Argentina after Deschamps sent some strong and fast players in like Marcus Thuram, Kolo Muani, Kingsley Coman, Camavinga.
I felt Argentina should lose that match because their coach, Scaloni was very late with substitutions and before two appearances of Lautaro Martinez and Paolo Dybala, Argentina were mostly at verge of failure with big pressure from France. A substitution of Marcos Acuna for Angel Di Maria is a failed one too.
Quote
France missed a big chance of winning the World Cup two times in a row and being the third team to make it in World Cup history. Messi would return with a big motivation of course which is good for PSG of course.

Will PSG be able to win Champions League with internal conflict of their biggest attacking players?

There was a possibility that Kylian Mbappe could have won France the World Cup on his own, but he fell just short of doing so. It was in 1966 that the last hattrick was scored in a World Cup final. Therefore, seeing him score a hattrick in the finals of this year's World Cup is a big deal for me.

Also if I am not wrong he has already scored 11 goals in only two World Cup's which means he is not so far away from breaking Miroslav Klose's 16 goals record. I think he is going to be really disappointed but life moves on and Argentina are now world champions.

The only thing that Mbappé has in his favor is that he is 23 years old and has many World Cups ahead of him, at least two more can be scored for him, and he can play them with everything he has, I think it could be up to 3 consecutively if age doesn't allow it. He hits like some players, I would dare to say that he can hold up to 4 world cups if he trains hard, for now Mbappé has a very good future of staying at PSG or going to another team, I don't think he has a life anymore at Real Madrid, because Whoever rejects Real Madrid Florentino Pérez never gives second chances again, it is a very elite and superior club.

For now, I think that Mbappé's best future will be at PSG, despite his many whims that he has to take out players, it is something that he must mature and be humble, I think that in the World Cup he taught him a lot in a short time, he still needs to see if he learned or not.

Honestly if Messi and Mbappe keep performing the same way they played in the World Cup, I could guarantee them the Champions League title!
It is incredible how they were advancing in the opponents defence line like a missile.
Of course they will not play for their team like for their nation but this will give hope for PSG supporters.
