... Did you see bad quality in the game between Real Madrid and PSG until the minute when Benzema scored after a mistake? I didn't see bad quality. That was absolute outstanding. They were dangerous as *** offensively, and they were doing ok defensively. The reason that these players can't perform at their maximum all the time in Ligue 1 is because they have seen and won so much, I think it is just human that you can't play at 110%. You are just not able to motivate yourself so hard because you are usually going to win the national title anyway. But really, speaking of low quality is quite far off...
I also completely disagree that Paris Saint-Germain showed poor quality of play in the match with Real Madrid. If it hadn't been for Donnarumma's monstrous mistake and then the referee's unwillingness to fix the violation of the rules of the game, then PSG should have calmly won this match because it looked much more solid in the game. Carlo Ancelotti would have been on the verge of being fired from Real Madrid, because before this match there were rumors that Florentino Perez was very unhappy with the first match and threatened to fire the head coach if the club did not advance to the next stage of the tournament. Another question is that such a strong team should not fall apart in a few minutes, as happened after Benzema's second goal, and this is some fault of the average level of the French championship, where the absolute majority of teams do not pose such problems to such an indisputable leader as PSG.
Yes, but are you referring to Donnaruma's situation when you say that the referee was unwilling to punish Benzema for his attack? I must honestly say that I do agree it was
probably a foul, but I wasn't surprised there was no whistle. It was one of these situations where there is so much drama in the game and Donnaruma did indeed *** it up, that a referee might just let the game continue. The VAR can't even do much as far as I know in such a situation.
The French league now will be some sad final weeks. PSG without motivation, but still bringing home the national trophy, but nobody in the world cares. Sad to not see Mbappe play anymore in the CL. The guy is an absolute beast and a future world soccer player.
