On the 21st PSG squad will play against Brest. This is Brest's home match. I hope in this match we can see the Neymar-Mbappe-Mesi trio playing together. We have been waiting so long to see it. Di Maria has played right forward in PSG for so long. Messi will now play in the same position. Di Maria will probably play as a midfielder in the future. I haven't seen any news yet on whether we will see Ramos in this match.

I'm not sure if Messi will play against Brest. Messi will make his PSG debut in the away match against Reims on August 29. PSG authorities have not officially made any announcement yet. However, I have seen in several news portals that he will be on the field on the 29th of PSG.

And PSG will prolly be the favorite to win the CL at around 1.90 - 2.05 in the outright.

They will certainly be one of the favourites, but some of the other contenders have also improved... notably Chelsea, who won it last year, and now have Lukaku. Man City may also have improved with the addition of Grealish. And the other big teams will be a threat.

Once we get past the groups it is obviously a knockout competition, and so it is always risky to bet on a winner as it only takes one poor performance against a top team to end your chances.

Now when making bets on PSG just pick so many goals, especially if they are playing with all superstar players. But to watch so many good players playing in one team is simply amazing. Especially to see them maybe in the Champions league

If Neymar is not as injured as he was last season, maybe this season PSG will break all records of their past goals. Neymar, Messi, and Mbappe have the ability to score a lot of goals. On the other hand, Di Maria will play in the midfield. He can also become awesome when the team needs him.

Honestly, I don't really pay attention to the Ligue 1. But since the departure of Messi and Ramos to PSG, I'm a little bit interested in seeing PSG play. If you look at the squad inside, they are a team with many stars. It can be said that PSG is a dream team plan even though some players are not young anymore. Last year PSG was in second place in the final standings, having one point difference with Lille. Actually, if you look at the composition of PSG's players, they are more favored, but it seems they are not lucky. This year I think PSG will win the Ligue 1.

Agreed. I wasn't following the Ligue 1 very much before. I just sometimes watched the games of the big teams in the league. But now, everything has changed for me.  Grin  As Messi has joined PSG, I've started to have an interest in PSG's next games with Messi. And I'm going to watch the Brest game as it's going to be Messi's first game with the team.

My condition is the same as yours. I used to look at the highlights and statistics of Ligue 1 matches to make bets. But after Messi joined PSG, I decided to enjoy all the upcoming matches of PSG. I don't want to miss Messi's gameplay, I hope I don't find it boring to enjoy PSG matches.

Lol.  Yup.  I was about to say that we’ll be seeing this thread get bumped more now that Messi is playing in the farmer’s league.  Cheesy  This thread was mostly ignored by the regs of the gambling section from what I have seen.

Last I checked it was around 3.5+ in most places, and that is good odds honestly because I believe there is a good chance they may actually end up winning. However just because the odds are good for what the real odds are, that doesn't mean that we should wait 8 months to get 3.5 odds back, I can go ahead and do that a lot easier in a week, just bet on 2-3 clubs that is favored to win a game and you get that anyway.

Only reason why people gamble on PSG to win UCL is the fact that 3.7 or 3.8 whatever odds there is, is not "favored to win" in regular games, it is usually the underdogs, so you get a 3.7+ bet while betting on the high favorites to win at the same time which is unique and that is why people bet on it. I do not know what else to say, sure Messi did played a role in PSG getting more famous but they were already getting quite good amount of players for free as well, they would still be a very high favorites even without Messi.

There are two days left for the first game that we are going to watch Messi in it. But I would like to indicate that Messi is lacking match fitness right now. Because he was a free agent before coming here. And this transfer happened quite late considering the start of the new season in the Ligue 1. Therefore, maybe he won't play really awesome in this game. But it will be really interesting to watch him playing for a different team for the first time ever.

I agree. As the strategies of these two teams are not the same, Messi may need some time to adapt. But having Neymar alongside him will help him a great deal to start playing like always at the earliest. I wonder whether the coach will prefer to put Messi in the starting eleven right away. I feel like he will.
Neymar and several other players at PSG seem to have quite understood how Messi and how to play. The single most important thing right now is how the other players in the starting eleven allow him to bring out all his potential to help the team win. Perhap at the end of his career in the next few season, Messi no longer want to achieve individual achievement as the top scorer and will concentrate on providing accurate passes to other strikers for goals. Very curious to see him playing for the first time with PSG.

The opening match of this week is between Brest and PSG. And it looks like Messi and Neymar both will be starting to play as of this match. Considering this news, all eyes will be on Messi of course. People are really curious about his first performance at a different team. I will watch this very special match also. Maybe Messi can have a little difficulty as it'll be his first match. But I've no doubt that he will adapt to the team in a short time.

Messi has been with Barcelona for a long time, he will have trouble adapting to the new team. There are many differences between the strategy of Barcelona and the strategy of PSG. However, since Messi has played with Neymar before, I believe it will not take long for Messi to adapt to PSG. Moreover, all the players of PSG are experienced enough. It shouldn't be too much of a problem to adapt to such an experienced squad.

Not any balance about salary between French soccer league team or Ligue 1 between PSG and other club, I think looks very boring without any competitive from other team. I think Lionel Messi looking for bigger competitive playing on primer league but he make PSG as new destination without any competitor club like Marseille or Lille. Ligue 1 keep called again as farmer league because only PSG as dominance with star player and have higher salary for their team.

@Minor Miner I would not have my hopes high about Messi performing right from the go, because he’s had no preseason and due to that he’ll take a while to settle in this league. Lastly a lot is being said about him and Neymar linking up, but will he able to replicate his Barcelona partnership in PSG is something we should wait and see and not jump to conclusions.

Mbappe has no motivation to play for PSG. He has great ambitions and wants to be the leader of the team. But with the arrival of Messi, it is clear that this will not be. Therefore, the desire to leave became more. He knows perfectly well that no matter how well he would play, everyone will still praise Messi. In Real Madrid, he can become the main star, the leader around which they will build a team. He is young and can play for a couple of years without trophies, but after that he will definitely take the main prizes with Madrid.
mbappe still has ambitions because he is still young and it's true that if he wants to be a leader and is looking for something different then real madrid might be one of the clubs he must visit.
but mbappe's contract is not finished yet at least he must be professional at least for the next half of the season because i believe mbappe's possibility to move next season is very high

I don't think there is such an issue, with Messi's arrival it makes Neymar happy, what happens is that rumors about Mbappe are not so good with Messi's arrival that it is rumored that Mbappe will go to Madrid and Ronaldo will join PSG. Also, there were some problems when Neymar was in PSG uniform such as about sexual harassment which made his reputation decline and not about his game. When Neymar failed to bring PSG to the title I thought it was just a lack of support and maybe a bad strategy, but with Messi coming here I believe PSG with them will be something dangerous for all their opponents, let's see.
I still do not think that Mbappe is "that" serious about leaving, I mean he was even before Messi joined up so there is some merit to that gossip, but he didn't so far and I am not entirely sure how Paris would just let someone like him leave.

If he really wants to go, and his contract is over next year, then it would mean that Madrid would get him for free, if that happens than PSG is one of the most stupidest teams out there financially, they are already paying so much to players and then not even make any profit from sale of Mbappe and just let him go for free? That just doesn't make any sense at all, I feel like they would do something about it. Of course, we have seen weirder things happen in world of football before, I am not saying that it is impossible, but it just doesn't make any sense at all and this is why I believe something may happen.

Well, if Mbappé wants to be the leader, the best way is Real Madrid, although I remember that when Real Madrid was Ronaldo, Zinedine Zidane, Figo, David Bechkam, all those stars shone in a single team, and they all had their leadership, if they make a A good job at PSG can give very good results, I think that is what they should evaluate, Mbappé, Neymar Jr and Messi will undoubtedly be a great forward if the coach knows how to engage the team.
