The opening match of this week is between Brest and PSG. And it looks like Messi and Neymar both will be starting to play as of this match. Considering this news, all eyes will be on Messi of course. People are really curious about his first performance at a different team. I will watch this very special match also. Maybe Messi can have a little difficulty as it'll be his first match. But I've no doubt that he will adapt to the team in a short time.

Messi has been with Barcelona for a long time, he will have trouble adapting to the new team. There are many differences between the strategy of Barcelona and the strategy of PSG. However, since Messi has played with Neymar before, I believe it will not take long for Messi to adapt to PSG. Moreover, all the players of PSG are experienced enough. It shouldn't be too much of a problem to adapt to such an experienced squad.

I agree. As the strategies of these two teams are not the same, Messi may need some time to adapt. But having Neymar alongside him will help him a great deal to start playing like always at the earliest. I wonder whether the coach will prefer to put Messi in the starting eleven right away. I feel like he will.

Not any balance about salary between French soccer league team or Ligue 1 between PSG and other club, I think looks very boring without any competitive from other team. I think Lionel Messi looking for bigger competitive playing on primer league but he make PSG as new destination without any competitor club like Marseille or Lille. Ligue 1 keep called again as farmer league because only PSG as dominance with star player and have higher salary for their team.

@Minor Miner I would not have my hopes high about Messi performing right from the go, because he’s had no preseason and due to that he’ll take a while to settle in this league. Lastly a lot is being said about him and Neymar linking up, but will he able to replicate his Barcelona partnership in PSG is something we should wait and see and not jump to conclusions.

Mbappe has no motivation to play for PSG. He has great ambitions and wants to be the leader of the team. But with the arrival of Messi, it is clear that this will not be. Therefore, the desire to leave became more. He knows perfectly well that no matter how well he would play, everyone will still praise Messi. In Real Madrid, he can become the main star, the leader around which they will build a team. He is young and can play for a couple of years without trophies, but after that he will definitely take the main prizes with Madrid.
mbappe still has ambitions because he is still young and it's true that if he wants to be a leader and is looking for something different then real madrid might be one of the clubs he must visit.
but mbappe's contract is not finished yet at least he must be professional at least for the next half of the season because i believe mbappe's possibility to move next season is very high

I don't think there is such an issue, with Messi's arrival it makes Neymar happy, what happens is that rumors about Mbappe are not so good with Messi's arrival that it is rumored that Mbappe will go to Madrid and Ronaldo will join PSG. Also, there were some problems when Neymar was in PSG uniform such as about sexual harassment which made his reputation decline and not about his game. When Neymar failed to bring PSG to the title I thought it was just a lack of support and maybe a bad strategy, but with Messi coming here I believe PSG with them will be something dangerous for all their opponents, let's see.
I still do not think that Mbappe is "that" serious about leaving, I mean he was even before Messi joined up so there is some merit to that gossip, but he didn't so far and I am not entirely sure how Paris would just let someone like him leave.

If he really wants to go, and his contract is over next year, then it would mean that Madrid would get him for free, if that happens than PSG is one of the most stupidest teams out there financially, they are already paying so much to players and then not even make any profit from sale of Mbappe and just let him go for free? That just doesn't make any sense at all, I feel like they would do something about it. Of course, we have seen weirder things happen in world of football before, I am not saying that it is impossible, but it just doesn't make any sense at all and this is why I believe something may happen.

Well, if Mbappé wants to be the leader, the best way is Real Madrid, although I remember that when Real Madrid was Ronaldo, Zinedine Zidane, Figo, David Bechkam, all those stars shone in a single team, and they all had their leadership, if they make a A good job at PSG can give very good results, I think that is what they should evaluate, Mbappé, Neymar Jr and Messi will undoubtedly be a great forward if the coach knows how to engage the team.

Interesting fact is that in the last match PSG conceded 2 goals this means that PSG's defense is not perfect even though it is guarded by great and experienced players
2 goals at local league level so how about at a higher level like Champions League ? Ok, we can reason that new players need adaptation for that we will wait for the next macth

sergio ramos wasn't playing, neymar and messi weren't playing either, I believe that if they were playing the team's performance would be much better on defense because the opponent would be under a lot of pressure and wouldn't have much space to counterattack. but in the end it's just my opinion, we need to see in practice how PSG will perform when messi and sergio ramos play

The main purpose of PSG will be to win the Champions League...

I agree, after all this investment they need to win the Champions League, but they need to improve a lot in defense so they don't suffer as many goals as they have been.

I think the same, in these moments teams like Real Madrid, Barcelona must be adjusting their belts, because when PSG begins to play it is very likely that they will reach the Champions League final and probably undefeated, due to the way it is made up, I would say that he has the best attack and defense in the world.

These players know each other very well, in addition to the fact that the arrival of Messi to the team has managed to forge very strong ties of friendship, with Sergio Ramos who was at Real Madrid, Mbappe, because he was already a friend of Neymar Jr.

The main purpose of PSG will be to win the Champions League, where they win the Champion it will give Real Madrid and Barcelona a golden lesson for letting go of the goose that lays the golden eggs.

Marseille were really unfortunate that they couldn't maintain their advantage against Bordeaux. They were leading the game 2-0 until the first 15 minutes of the second half. But Bordeaux made a really great comeback against them and made it 2-2. And I can't say that the match was actually a very enjoyable one. Both teams had 2 shots on target and all of them ended up with a goal which was really interesting.  Grin

Ligeu 1's teams are not so good. PSG will easily win the title of League 1. But in order to win the Champions League title, teamwork is definitely needed among the players. Lots of star players on their team. Now if Mbappe or Messi thinks, he will win the team alone, he will score alone. Then PSG will not be able to win the Champions League title. We saw the Chelsea team last season. There are no skilled striker was in their squad. Their teamwork was good so they were able to win the UCL title.

Number 30 = Messi, indeed he didn't take the shirt number of any of his teammates which is a good message for them that we are equal. That number marks his debut in Barca so it will marks also his debut with PSG and his retirement later?
I was surprised myself to have seen Messi with the number 30 shirt, it didn't feel like the best of ideas then, I had to look at it from the angle of cruelty. It would have been a lot more cruel should Messi have taken the number 10 Jersey from Neymar Jnr. Neymar Jnr practically left Barcelona due to the complete dominance of Messi, though he was recognised in much of the games he futured, the glory was often awarded to Messi. He left, to PSG to make a name of his own and then, here is Messi again and as such, taking the number 10 Jersey would have been a bad idea.

Funny how a simple number choosing decisions could be interpreted in football, lol!

I never thought Neymar solely left Barcelona because of supposedly being clouded by Mess's shadow, Neymar was highly rated while in Barcelona and even made it to the top 3 finalist for Ballon' D' or. IMO playing along side Messi and Suarez made literally became a better player and such was tip to bet the next successor for the already aging Messi then. Even whenever Messi was out injury, the team usually looked up to Neymar.

Neymar's popularity without doubt practically declined after leaving Barcelona, but now that Messi is PSG player, does that mean Neymar would likely exit the club again ?

Having basically every good free transfer in one off-season will get you to that level. I am not saying that they will win UCL this season, we never know who will win, sometimes even the best teams end up losing, look at Liverpool a year before, they won the league with very few losses, didn't lose for like 30 games or something, went unbeaten in the league, but at UCL they sucked so bad, it is not always the same thing.
PSG could dominate ligue 1 very easily, but that doesn't mean that they will be winning UCL, that is a whole another beast that requires a lot more attention and sometimes even one bad game sees you out and that is how great teams end up losing. I believe that PSG has a big challenge ahead of them, but this is their first year together with this core group, they are not even all there yet, Messi will be ready like in September, so it is going to take a while, maybe next season they can be even better? That seems like a better chance for them.
Maybe, but this lapping of the squad to each other may cost Mauricio Pochettino the post of head coach, because I do not think that the club's management will calmly look at a situation when players with multi-million dollar contracts will not fulfill their task and win tournaments. That's why I don't envy Pochettino very much. However, if the club takes the titles inside France and, for example, reaches the semi-finals of the Champions League in the first season, then I think that such a result can suit the club's management at first. In the meantime, we will wait for Messi to finally take the field in the next round, and Sergio Ramos will finally recover from his injury.
