Monaco is trying to maintain their position in the standings to qualify for the Champions League and currently their position is not very comfortable because they are only three points behind Lille. Even though Monaco's performance continues to improve, if Monaco is not consistent then the opportunity for them to be chased by Lille is quite open because Lille's performance is almost the same as Monaco, where their last five matches have had the same results.

Lille will face Brest after facing a match in the European league and they must try to play for victory or at least the match must end in a draw. Because if they lose, Monaco will be in a more advantageous condition because the points difference will be much greater.

Strasbourg declined a lot and they are 3 points away from the relegation zone and one point from the relegation play-offs. Such position is unsustainable and they have to start winning again especially against Nantes this week. All their remaining games up to April are against top teams except maybe Toulouse which is a medium one, yet above them.
Monaco and Brest are competing for the second spot while PSG trying to confirm the title before a couple of rounds. There Marseille that are pushing their way up and Nice that lost control totally on their results!

Le Havre had been struggling to win for 6 weeks. Yesterday, Le Havre managed to end their 6-week winless streak with a one-goal victory against Toulouse. Le Havre certainly deserved the win as they played a better game compared to their opponents.
In the meeting of 2 teams in the relegation zone, the winner was Metz. Metz are in a race with their rivals and they want to make the most of their chance to stay in the relegation zone. With this win they managed to take 2 steps ahead of their opponent.

The competition to win a place in the Champions League is more interesting in the Ligue 1, because PSG is too dominant in the race for trophies, a number of competing clubs will not be able to pressure PSG to lead the standings. It's a shame to see Nice, they are now experiencing setbacks after competing with PSG at the start of the season. Brest and Monaco must try to maintain their position in the top three, there are fewer matches remaining and we will see PSG win the trophy again this season.

As long as the other clubs in Ligue 1 cannot improve their overall game and cannot show a good level of consistency, then as long as Paris Saint Germain will be comfortable continuing to dominate Ligue 1. Because there is no other club that can approach Paris Siant Germain's current level, even when the opportunity arises, the reality is they can't take advantage of it. For example, when Paris Saint Germain received 3 draws in a row, there should be a club that could approach them, but in reality no one could do that because at the same time they also experienced a fate that was not much different from the match they played.

I think one of them is that other clubs' financial factors are not like Paris Saint Germain, so they have difficulty maintaining their consistency well. This is why I believe that they are going to be fine, yeah the results "feels" like that is not what PSG should get, and sometimes feels like they should have won all three, but why would they? Who cares about it really, not like they are going to lose the title, they could finish the rest of the season with just full draws, never a win or loss, and they may still be the title winners. 9 games left, that means 9 points, the difference is 19 points in that case, meaning in 9 games Brest would have to win at least 7, and that is not going to happen.

Yesterday, Strasbourg lost against Monaco and we can say that we are entering important weeks for Strasbourg. Lille failed to beat Rennes in a tough encounter. The away team Rennes started the match quickly. Rennes scored in the first minute and increased the difference to 2 in the 20th minute. PSG are formidable this season, they are enjoying football in their domestic league because there's no presence of improvement, rather we will continue to watch League Onr over and over again. This is one of the relevant reasons why Les Parisiens is suffering in elite competition, they don't stand the chance. PSG will continue to dominate the France Ligue One because there's no presence of top rivals for the league. The performance of opponents that's clinching on PSG to be on the same level, but these teams are not doing anything possible to achieve this targets.

PSG is safe to be considered to have qualified for the Champions League, in fact I no longer think PSG will face a real threat of losing their title this season after they managed to lead the standings with a gap of 10 points above Brest. PSG are title favourites, that has allowed them to get better focus on the Champions League this season.

All these small teams without proper investment starts the league and have high and plenty strengths and then they look like King Of the Jungle and when the Jungle gets matured they go into hiding and oblivion. This is the story of OGC Nice whom we thought will be the contenders with PSG. Stumping Nice fell to another loss at home to Montpellier with all goals of this fixture coming in the first half. This shows how porous the defense of this Nice team and how much investment needs to be done in this team.

 With this kind of defense they’ll be seen as the worst team in any European competition talk more of the Elite UCL and I’m glad their hopes of getting to the UCL is getting dim. Nice’s early season promise looks more distant with every game after losing at home to lowly Montpellier 2-1 extended its winless streak to six French league matches on Friday.  This win is a major boost for Montpellier as it helps them in their battle out of relegation and it’s a crazy one for Nice as it’s the another bad result. In the QF of the French Cup, they’ll also be knocked out by PSG and this is very bad as they might try to maintain the position or go to 3rd to get a good European competition spot, they're not match for PSG and i don't think the French Giants would want to be kicked out so easily.
