I mean Brest, Monaco and PSG will go to UCL next season, I am pretty sure of that three. However, I really do not think that Brest will be able to do all that great, it is not going to be all that simple. We are going to end up with something much worse, we are going to end up with something that will not take that much time. I feel like it is going to be hard for them to do anything at UCL because they are not a big club, and not really have a team culture that is too used to it.

There are much smaller teams, from nations that are smaller, but constantly goes there, which can do much better. We should consider Brest to be just a team who had one good year, but not sure if they could have that next season to be fair.

The match between Lens versus Brest is a competition to secure tickets to the Champions League next season. On paper, Brest deserves to be superior because their statistics are slightly better at the moment. It is true that there is a possibility that this match will end in a draw, because Lens is lucky in terms of acting as host. Lens has the ambition to penetrate the Champions League zone, which is currently three points away, and it is not an easy job to secure full points when facing Brest. Betting on this match really requires consideration, because the strengths of the two teams are not much different.

Lens will host a club that is ranked 2nd in the standings this week, namely Brest. Lens are still having quite a hard time maintaining their stability this season, repeatedly they have had results that are not at all satisfactory. Now they are in 6th place in the standings with 39 points, from 11 wins, 6 draws and 7 defeats from the 24 matches they have played this season. With this situation, I think Brest still has a big chance to win even though their status is the visiting team.

Meanwhile, Brest is in 2nd place, their performance is much more stable than the opponents they will face now, in fact they had 3 consecutive wins before this match. Even Brest and Monaco are still not safe in the Champions League zone because Lille, Nice and Lens can still catch up with them because their point advantage is not too far away. The competition for places 2 to 6 is still very competitive and it is possible that the leaderboard will change at the end of the season. I think it is already impossible for Lyon to target the Champions League because they are 14 points behind Monaco in third place. I respect them for managing to escape the relegation zone after a difficult start to the season. I also think it is almost impossible for PSG to win the Champions League this season and I see this realistically that PSG's strength this season is not strong and in fact they are not much better than last season.
Regarding PSG being able to qualify easily past Real Socidead, I think that is a natural thing because PSG's quality is much better than Real Socidead, which is currently in a slump this season.

I not sure Marseille will really be able to get UCL ticket but if an unexpected surprise can happen then nothing is impossible.

With this all if they are able to secure Luis Enrique for some more time then surely we will have great improvement, and they could be able to give better performance in Champions League in future because this is their weak point, and they are trying their best for fixing this which is possible and if they are able to have this surely they could be superior in coming years which will be give them good success because with the sources of current owners they could be able to have success like Manchester City in all competitions.

Everything is still very likely to happen at the bottom of the table considering their points gap is not too far away. Competition is even tighter and more interesting at the bottom than at the top, maybe this is an inverse thing. Lol

The bottom position of the standings now occupied by Clermont only has a difference of 7 points from Le Havre which is right on the border of the safety zone. Given that all teams still have problems and inconsistencies, it does not mean that Clermont can catch up and get out of the relegation zone. Especially if we look at Metz or Montpellier, they have a very big chance to get out of the relegation zone because they have fewer points than Clermont. Now we’ve got Brest who’re doing currently at 2nd place and I feel they’re still not safe because the point difference is 4 and Monaco are also a good side. Though Brest have been consistent in performance and with about 12-14 matches to go, I think them maintaining this consistency will see them having a UCL Spot.

 Lille and Nice are also on the chase but I don’t see them being able to overthrow Monaco and stretch to Brest. Though this is football and anything is quite possible within 90 mins of play and Brest too will need to be more determined if they want to attain the success of securing a UCL Ticket. Looking at these teams in the UCL, you’ll begin to wonder why they’re struggling to go to that competition only to end up departing at the group stage. I think if these clubs successfully feature in the competition then they should try to get right players to help them especially in the UCL as there they’ll meet more better teams across Europe.

I am skeptic that if PSG win Champions League this season, they will be able to convince Mbappe to stay in their club and break their pre-contract agreement with Real Madrid. Mbappe is smart enough to know that if PSG win Champions League this season, it is not their success from a good systematic and strategic development but mainly from luckiness. They will face with many difficulties to defend the title next season and even struggle to go far like quarter finals, semi finals and final match in future.

The match against Real Socidead shows that Mbappe actually enjoys his playing time in Champions League and does not waste any minute to show his ability there.

PSG started to change since the summer and they no longer aim at super star players or star players with so much expensive transfer cost. Such expensive players cause many problems for them in financial balance, internal dress-room issues and will affect their performances on field.

If Mbappe actually leaves, I agree with you, that PSG will aim at cheaper striker and they are going to build new squad with cheaper cost but players are ready to play together as a solid squad.

Montpellier, Metz and Clermont are the three teams and Montpellier is one of the teams most likely to escape the relegation zone starting this week. Montpellier's difference from Le Havre, Nantes and Lorient is only 1 to 2 points and an additional 3 points for Montpellier this week is enough to shift their position.

However, that also means that Montpellier's three competitors suffered defeats this week and speaking of Montpellier's opponents, the opening match this week will be against Nice. Actually Nice is not in a good condition and they look very bad with no wins in the last 5 matches. Montpellier must make good use of this situation to steal 3 points in the away match and at least they will continue to make Nice even more frustrated if they lose again.

Winning the champions league with PSG will be a deteming factor that could convince the French striker to remain in th club. But it's seems the chances of  Klyrian Mbappé signing a new contract is slim because he affirmed that he is having problem with the club leadership. After an impressive performance in the UCL where he scored a brace over Real Sociedad , the club will be willing to  keep him but there is more work to be done to motivate him stay. PSG would have to break the bank to satisfy his desire for more money and I am sure the club is not willing to do that.

The coach is already preparing for Mbappé's exist after he was substituted early during the games with Monaco and Rennes. The club is hoping to bring in a quality striker who will be cheaper and also wants to grow young players who will contribute to the team. The club seems not to be ready to splash money on any expensive striker.

I agree and I think him and the PSG chairman have already started to think about an alternative player to Mbappe. They had better do so because it is really not easy to find a solid replacement for a player like Mbappe. Have you seen the goals he scored against Real Sociedad as well? His playing style is just really lovely to watch. 

Maybe PSG don't have any money problem but it must still be really discomforting for them to see Mbappe leaving without a transfer fee being paid to them. He is one of the best players in active football right now. Nobody would like to see that player leaving their team like that.
