It seems that nothing is impossible in football and perhaps if we still remember how pessimistic most of us are regarding the fate of Lyon who will be relegated this season. This cannot be separated from their poor performance since the start of the season and even though they appointed Fabio Grosso as the new coach, the results did not change, causing Lyon to have to fire their second coach in one season.

Now as we can see Lyon is in 15th position with 3 consecutive wins from the last 5 matches and that is the result they are really looking forward to this season. It's just that when Lyon is on fire, the Ligue 1 competition has to stop considering that the year is about to change and of course we will really be waiting for another good performance from Lyon in the match earlier this year.
Lyon recently has showing good progress that from 4 latest matches in all competitions Lyon was unbeatable they even can win all of those matches with cleansheet status so sacked Fabio Grosso seems good decision for Lyon because without that manager Lyon can able to performing well much better and previously Pierre Sage status as interm manager because after Fabio Grosso got sacked Lyon owner want to look for new manager but seems everything was change that after Lyon can able to gets 4 winning streak under him then the owner have decide to give Pierre Sage contract and reported Pierre Sage will train this team until end of this season and i know it's hard for Lyon to survive at Ligue 1 because basically Lyon performance still not stable but if this team can avoiding relegation zone i think possibly Lyon owner will extended Pierre Sage contract

There was nothing impressive about PSG big win and Mbappe hat-trick in this match because after all, the opponents PSG faced were also a team that didn't know what league to play in and also played in which league. Because ya, after all, there is no record about Revel playing in what division of the league and based on existing records too, that Revel only played in the Coupe de France and I think that is clearly a bad record.

Therefore, playing against PSG is definitely not a worthy opponent because after all, PSG clearly has better quality. Also, this big win has absolutely no impact on PSG performance in Ligue 1 because anyway, there was no impressive resistance made by Revel in this match. Clearly, this is a team that is very different in terms of quality for all the factors involved.

That is where remorse should kick in for Mbappe. He could have won several individual awards by now for being the best player in the world, but for as long as he stays at PSG he won't have a chance to compete with the world's best players that play for Manchester City, Real Madrid etc.

This transfer saga was exciting at times, but the bad part about it is that there was a talent on the line, a player risking the whole career and the potential legacy for money. That is his situation. He should put an end to that as quickly as possible and move on. He has enough money now. It can't be about the money and I think people around the world would be rolling their eyes if he unexpectedly decides to stay even longer in exchange for another billion euors.

PSG winning by a huge scoreline against a team that people just have not even heard the name of is honestly not an achievement for PSG in my opinion. And I absolutely agree with you @hahay that they were not a worthy opponent for PSG. I don't think this win actually means anything to anyone. Of course, the loss for the opponent was absolutely humongous. But I don't think PSG should actually be proud of anything that they have achieved from this match. Because we don't see this performance from them in the Champions League. And even they will agree that the Champions League is the competition that they actually care about the most.
I really agree with you that this is not something they should be proud off, a teams that have just recorded their first match ever, even though Paris Saint-German scored more than this I will not applause for them because they way they behave in Champions league was actually an insane because with the squad they gathered and still allowed themselves to be mess up, I can't consider them to be in their good performance because even Union Berlin of bundesliga that have poor performance can actually perform a wonderful game when playing against such team. Paris Saint-German should be proud of that winning, it just an opportunity for them.
When you talking about champions league, you cannot add Paris Saint German as a team who can go up against Real madrid,Bayern,Mancity and Arsenal, and would expect a win, they are not a top club contending for the champions league, because they will be eliminated anytime soon in the round of 16.I dont think they can cross to the quater final of that tournament.
Teams that i can boast of to reach the semi final and final of the champions league is Madrid, Bayern,Inter milan and Dortmund, they are really good and might be up their to win that tittle.

It is not simple to give this kind of games meaning to be honest. On the one hand you see big clubs fail against those teams because they don't go all out and believe that they can win the game easily when they perform at 80%. On the other hand I recall that Bayern Munich was defeated by a team that was playing several classes below them in Germany. It wasn't even 2. Bundesliga I think and yet Bayern Munich lost the game. So it was a good job by PSG to approach this game with high focus and intent to win it, but simultaneously nothing of importance really happened here.
Surprising things sometimes happen in every football match, sometimes big teams underestimate small teams until finally the small team is able to perform impressively to beat the big team, and this was done by PSG even though the opponent looked weaker. But PSG remained focused on the match and continued to field their main squad so that it would be easier for PSG to win, and it's true that it was very easy for PSG to break through the opponent's defense and their team seemed to be feasting on goals, but this was very risky because they were worried that the PSG squad would suffer injuries, but luckily in this match the PSG players were good. It's good that this is also a way to hone the players' skills before facing matches in the 2nd round of this season.

They fielded their main squad and made sure that this game is over by halftime. In my opinion that is the only right thing to do in these matches. Of course coaches can decide to give other players a chance. Perhaps young players need more practice or players that don't get their chance to prove themselves very often, but sometimes they exaggerate and field 8 new players. The whole team then doesn't know each other, the opponent gets lucky out of a sudden and the favorite is down 0-1 and the clock is running. That should be avoided and PSG had no mercy and did their best to have a relaxed second half of the game.

In this match, PSG showed no mercy to their opponents every time there was a chance to score, it would be a goal. It seems like PSG wants to give a signal to their opponents, especially in the UCL League, that they are ready to face them at any time and of course a big win like this increases the players' confidence even though the opponent is a weak team like Revel. However, it must also be acknowledged that a small and weak club like Revel is still trying to withstand PSG's attacks, they are not giving up even though they lost by an absurd score.

Apart from that, it is also clear that PSG really needs Kylian Mbappe at PSG and they don't want to lose Mbappe. because Mbappe always launches real attacks in the opponent's penalty box with his speed, so it's not surprising that in that match he scored a hat trick. Any team playing for mbappe will benefit from his mentality and pace.

As I understand from the statistics, PSG likes to play seriously against weak opponents and thus get beautiful numbers. Before this game, the top scorer in the French Cup for PSG was Francois M'Pelé with 28 goals, and now it is Mbappe with 30. The numbers are beautiful (I wonder how many games Mbappe spent on this), but the results do not correspond to them - if I’m not mistaken, the previous two seasons PSG were eliminated at the 1/8 stage.

Revel 0-5 PSG

Today in the match of the Coupe de France, PSG's players shows a great dominance. The opposition is naturally quite weak compared to PSG. So I thought Luis Enrique might give his second line players a chance in this match. But he didn't do that. PSG players dominated from the start of the match.

PSG players had 78% of the ball possession in the first half. They managed to make a total of 15 shots, out of which 7 were on target. And the important thing is that PSG team lead by 4-0 goals in the first half. And Mbappe scored another goal at the beginning of the second half. Mbappe scored the goal from Marco Asensio's pass. Mbappe has already scored three goals. Asensio has one goal and two assists. Carlos Soler had two assists. PSG won today's match by 7/8 goals, but it is not surprising.

A common result when the world class team like PSG faced mediocre club like revel. PSG will be winning coupe de france this season. PSG could score more than it but it seems like that PSG was still trying to hold itself from scoring even more.Congratulations to PSG on their success! It appears that Paris is on track to secure their second trophy from the Coupe de France in the near future. I can't wait to see PSG to take another trophy this season. Despite the fact that the trophies may mostly come from the local scene, it is still a more favorable outcome compared to receiving no form of recognition. I strongly believe PSG will fail in UCL.

I agree with what you said. No one had ever heard of Revel, except maybe the French. So it's not surprising if they were able to win that match. I think it would be surprising if they lost or won 1-0 against Revel. However, I still appreciate what PSG did because getting a big win means that PSG still has a squad that is strong enough to be able to dominate the league. I'm confused why they didn't field a second tier player against Revel?
I don't even see such victory as such that should be exciting or make PSG it was naturally expected of them to win that match without stress which of course they did won with such a landslide victory and a very good margin such that their opponent wasn't able to score a goal against them all through the match.

Revel is a name I heard for the first time when they had the encounter with PSG, before then I never came across such name in football and of course they aren't rated any high in any of the french league they can't even be compared to any team in the Ligue 1 aswell so definitely they were no competition for PSG. In the Ligue 1 PSG remains the most elite team and have got the best squad in the french league so it was very possible that such an elite had such win or even more of such a weak team.

PSG almost reached 10 goals and I think the result of 9 goals without reply is very painful for a weak team like Revel. Kylian Mbappe even managed to record a hat trick in this match and other players were equally part of this landslide victory. Luis Enrique seems to have proven that they are the number 1 club in France and whoever they play against, he doesn't seem to show any mercy.

I think PSG should have been able to rest their main players in this match when they were 3 goals ahead but in fact most of them stayed until the end of the match. Despite the policy implemented by Luis Enrique, it certainly didn't use up all the players' stamina and maybe it was more of an entertainment match for fans who wanted to watch their favorite team win with lots of goals.
For me there is nothing more special than those nine goals because they faced a much easier club. However, despite this, appreciation goes to PSG who were able to play more openly in that match and especially to Mbappe who was able to score three goals with his extraordinary skills. However, what you have to remember is that this is only against a weak team and PSG still has a big match in the Champions League so they have to try to evaluate every existing weakness.

Because the match was not too close to other competitions, Luis Enrique did not try to rotate. It is also possible that Luis Enrique will try to implement some strategies in this match by testing several possibilities that can be applied in the Champions League later. However, this victory was quite satisfying because fans could smile a little more when they saw the appearance of the players they liked.
PSG's weakness is an attraction that cannot be fully resolved because it is not easy to be in a situation where every season you are only motivated by chasing the Ligue 1 title or other domestic titles and that is the reason PSG always lags behind other top European clubs. They only rule in France and when they leave their comfort zone they are no doubt like prey that must be hunted by other great predators.

Using a new strategy in a match such as against a weak Revel team in the Coupe De France competition is not wrong, but of course the results will be different when this strategy is applied against a team that is quite strong or equal. So I think it's not a matter of strategy but more about having fun because a typical big team like PSG only looks great when it's like this and when playing against other strong teams in Ligue 1 they aren't necessarily able to do that.

Mbappe continues to be a main goal source of PSG and it is not surprising. In another story, he will also continue to be biggest problem of PSG when any transfer market window opens. His future is not certainly in Paris and his mind aims at Real Madrid, La Liga and Bernabeu. It will be magic if PSG can keep Mbappe in Paris after the next summer transfer.

Beating an unknown team, you have never known about Revel too, is not enough to prove PSG have a strong squad. They have a winning that is good for their start in 2024 but not enough to conclude that they are a strong team.

Revel is not a strong club, its name has never been heard of by football fans before. The big victory over Revel does not mean anything for PSG, the strength of the club led by Luis Enrique has not been able to be matched by clubs playing in the Ligue 1 caste, let alone a club like Revel that has never been heard of before. In Ligue 1 PSG is the king, no club has been able to stop it from winning the Ligue 1 title for the last few years, PSG will also dominate the Coupe de France with all its advantages. What PSG has just achieved is not very impressive for anyone, this victory is very natural for PSG because Revel is a very weak team.

Nice has demonstrated stability and competitiveness to avoid relegation and even makes it to the top four in some instances. Their current improved form makes them look like a tough a top team in the league, but that hasn't enough to challenge for the title.

Despite Nice flopping a bit in their quest for the Ligue 1 title, is still applaud their consistency so far because it's not really easy to maintain such form since the season began and even maintain the second position after losing our the top position to Paris Saint German. Nice have won 10 out of 17 matches they've played so far, drew 5 and lost just 2 and has a total of 40 points so definitely they're good and one thing I admire about Nice is their solid defense as they don't concede too many goals that's why they conceded just 9 goals in their league matches this season and scored a total of 19 goals.

Psg has a stock of great players, but even so, Luis Enrique also fielded their main squad when facing Revel so that a win with a big score was the final result in this match. Revel is not a strong team and their defense is so fragile that Mbappe et al had no difficulty scoring many goals in this match. Indeed, this is quite a big risk when facing a non-seeded team, but they play with their full squad so if an injury occurs to a player it would be quite a shame.

But this match provides strong evidence that the players are able to play more carefully and they are able to do well because nothing bad happens to them. And there are no other matches this week before Ligue 1 starts again, so PSG players get plenty of time to stabilize their fitness to compete in Ligue 1 matches.

It is not simple to give this kind of games meaning to be honest. That match was the most easiest match for PSG because there performance was far better than Revel, so perhaps considering Revel poor performance PSG should have just use there second team because using those kind of players they did is actually a very risky one because considering other major Leagues they have the PSG coach should have allowed those key players to have enough rest against there more serious matches yet to come, and also I believe that PSG second team should have even win Revel because they cannot be compared with PSG second team.

Although I think PSG coach did not want to take any match for granted and also since he knows that PSG is stronger than Revel he decided to use the opportunity to set example to other clubs that PSG is very much in there good performance, that match was the easiest match for PSG since the beginning of this season and Mbappe scored a hard trick and at the end they won Revel 9-0.

Currently, PSG actually does not have any problems or very serious arrivals, especially in bringing in the players they are targeting because they do have money and there are no problems with their finances. but the problem is that sometimes PSG faces conditions that are quite difficult to overcome when they play in the UCL. There have been many opportunities for PSG to really strengthen this. It should have been measured, not just differences, because after all, in the French League, no one could compete with PSG's dominance. Now, the conditions are very different when PSG are in the UCL, especially now that they have entered zone 16, which incidentally would usually be an even tougher match.
The contrast in competition levels between Ligue 1 and the UCL knockout stages is indeed notable. Navigating through the UCL knockout rounds is a different ball game, and even with considerable resources, PSG encounters difficulties. Perhaps the team needs to strategize and adapt to the more intense and competitive environment of European football.
Yes, it is quite a contrasting comparison if you look at the French League and the UCL because it is true that in the French League there is no particular club that is capable of becoming PSG's toughest rival. So the benchmark for PSG's true strength is indeed the match in the UCL. and unfortunately so far in the UCL, even though they have football stars or not, it turns out they have not been able to survive and win the cup which has been their dream for a long time.

It was a painful result for Revel. PSG scored exactly nine goals and there were just as many missed opportunities. He struggled from the start of the PSG match until the final whistle. It wouldn't have happened if Mbappe didn't score a hattrick in this match and he did it, I had no doubt about him, we are now used to him scoring hattricks in such matches.

PSG does not show mercy against such easy opponents, for some reason they always achieve such different results.

One part of me is surprised and another part of me is not. As I have said so many times, Ligue 1 is like a picnic for PSG. Ligue 1 is the highest level of the football league in France and Revel is a team which is not even in the Ligue 1. They are not even in the 2nd tier of the football league in France so Revel definitely did not stand a chance against PSG.
The part of you that was surprised is the part that believe in magic. Why will anyone expect PSG not to destroy Revel, a team that can't even match the least team in French League 1. The goal margin was no surprised either because it is customary for PSG to score many goals against weak teams during cups.

What I don't understand is why they are playing some of the main team players, to be honest. The schedules are tough these days and they should be given rest. Mbappe was brought out to play the game as well.
You are right, I was not expecting PSG to play their first team in that match because their reserve could have won that match effortlessly. I think one of the biggest problem of Luis Enrique is managing the players. By this I mean knowing when to play certain players and when not to. Even at Barcelona, he had this problem at some point. Now that PSG has made it to Champions League round of 16, he has to be smart in managing the players.

There was nothing interesting about Revel's match against PSG apart from PSG's goal feast for Revel with a score of 0-9. Kylian Mbappe scored a hat trick which also increased his goal record in official competitions, but Revel is not really an opponent for the depth of PSG's current squad.

The French Cup, Ligue 1 and Champions League are great titles for any team in France to win. PSG certainly hopes for a European title every season, but so far they have had great difficulty winning it. No one can deny that PSG will record many failures in the Champions League as long as they don't really have a reliable squad and coach, but they have opportunities every season and can try.

In the end PSG won the match by a huge margin of 9-0. Mbappe scored 3 goals and an assist in today's match. PSG players played well. The match was not very important for them. Still Luis Enrique formed his best squad today to give confidence to the squad players. Goncalo Ramos scored a goal from the penalty spot. Asensio scored two goals and an assist. Muani also scored two goals. PSG's players will be more confident in the upcoming matches after a big 9-0 win in this match. They have the potential to improve overall gameplay.
It was indeed an easy game for PSG and the win was very much deserving as they dominated every minute of the game and dis showed superiority and brilliance in their performance against their opponent because no less was expected of them as it regards winning this game and the margin was just jaw dropping even if less wasn't expected of them.

Kylian mbappe getting a hat trick yesterday was really impressive and worth been applauded because he got two of the goals in the first half and the last in the second half of the game, home advantage wasn't enough to save Revel from.been beaten by PSG, sadly Revel was unable to secure a single goal in amidst the nine goals that was scores against them in the game. But then no less was expected of PSG because Revel was actually a very weak team and it was definite they weren't going to have a chance against PSG, hopefully PSG may win the COUPE DE FRANCE this season amongst other trophies they aim to win this season.

I'm not going to say Mbappe couldn't have a good performance yesterday but should also not forget that Mbappe was playing in a team full of superstar players against a weak team and this is very much normal to see him scoring many goals for his team because the defenders of Revel couldn't make Mbappe stop at all and let's say Mbappe was not having a hard day to pass the pass and scoring goals in this match.
