Lorient's defense was not good last season either. In 38 matches they scored 52 goals and conceded 53 goals. However, their defense is even worse this season than in the previous season. They have already admitted 35. If the defense does not improve, the Lorient team will not be able to get out of the relegation zone. I have no complaints about Lorient's attack. If the defense improves, I think their attacking players will be able to perform better.

The Lyon team was in the relegation zone for a long time. They have managed to climb out of the relegation zone by winning their last three matches. But from the beginning of this season, their performance started to decline. Out of 17 matches, the team won only two matches. And yet their performance is very erratic. The poor performance of the defenders is the reason why Lorient is in such a bad situation. Lorient conceded 35 goals in 17 matches. But there is still a long journey ahead. Each team will play 19 matches and Lorient still has a chance to come out of the relegation zone. If Lorient can tighten up their defense then I think the team can get out of the relegation zone. Because their attack is not weak.

I still don't believe Lorient will continue to slump in the relegation zone and the previous heavy defeat against Brest continues to worsen their position. Lorient can only collect 12 points in 2023 and from 17 matches they have 2 wins, 6 draws and 9 defeats. This is in contrast to the quality of their performance last season, which managed to appear quite consistent and finish in the top 10 of the standings. I don't know whether they can survive this season or not. It is clear that competition will continue to increase to be free from the relegation zone. However, it is clear that Lorient must be able to recover and be able to emulate what Lyon has done by successfully getting out of the relegation zone since the start of this season.

Passing week 17, Paris Saint Germain can be at the top of the standings comfortably, being 5 points above Nice, the club closest to them. with a 5-point advantage in Ligue 1 it will be very difficult to catch up, especially those who have that advantage are Paris Saint Germain who are the strongest club in Ligue 1.
I think they will be able to continue to be comfortable there. Their focus is on the Champions League, because in the last few seasons the Champions League has been their main goal. But in Ligue 1 itself for them it is easy, because there is no club that can really rival them at this time.  Nice, who were good at the start of the season, have in fact declined and are now below them.

During this match, Metz got nearly no chance and they had no control in the game especially in the second half when Mbappe scored two goals for PSG.

Today, to be honest, I missed a lot of matches in all the leagues that I follow, unfortunately with the busy work I have to do, I can't predict the matches that are displayed in several leagues. speaking of Paris Saint-Germain, Enrique's squad beat Metz with a big score after drawing against Lille in the previous match. referring to the differences between these two teams, both in terms of ranking and performance in Lique 1.
