Odegard definitely looks like the type of player PSG needed for a long time. They have been lacking that position and their midfield is lackluster. I understand Veratti and Vitinha may look "expensive" players but the reality is that they are only expensive because they are at PSG, remove them from PSG and put them on a mid table team and they do not worth the way they are without PSG affect.
So long story short they needed someone better for sure and Odegard could play at midfield. What they actually need is a player like Kevin De Bruyne, both world class level and probably best at his position, but also definitely fits amazingly well with Mbappe as well, that duo could make each other better, just like he did that with Haaland this season.
For sure, Arsenal will not let go of Odegaard. after all, he is a player Arsenal really need right now. As for Veratti, I don't know why he played in such a bad performance. Likewise with Vitinha, previously he played quite well at the start of the season. but after the Qatar world cup, PSG experienced a decline in performance. plus, several players who were injured. which in the end, they failed to qualify for the next phase in the Champions League and had to fight hard to maintain their position on the standings. although they still won Ligue 1, but overall they played badly. there are many factors, it could be because the coach rotated the wrong players. or, indeed, the quality of the PSG midfielder is really mediocre.
Referring to what you said, we agree that PSG needs someone more creative in charge of midfield. I think Luis Enrique is very aware of this. that's why, the current rumor is that PSG's priority is Bernardo Silva
IMO, Silva is a very creative player and he can even play in various positions even though he is actually an MC. in short, let's see what Enrique will do for his new squad. we will find out soon enough which newcomers they will bring to the Parc de Prince.
