It was really important to win this game to take the second position in the standings back from Lens as well. These two teams still have a similar form to each other on the recent weeks so the balances can be upset anytime again. Marseille should just focus on benefiting from the quality advantage.
Lens-Marsielle game on May 6th could decide who wins that 2nd place and direct qualification for CL. Imho, I think that Lens is in a better form at the moment and is more likely to finish 2nd, despirte Marseille objectively having stronger team.

In this match, I will put the team ahead in Marseille. Because I saw the performance of the last few matches in Marseille. They are playing very well. They have won the last two matches against Troyes and Lyon. Both teams were strong. And they will play against Auxerre in the next match. Although this team is at the bottom of the points table, the team is in very good form. I guess Marseille will be able to continue their winning streak. They will win against Auxerre and Lens and they will be able to tighten the second place in the points table.
Marseille in their meeting with Lens will act as guests, so this is an advantage for Lens to be able to take advantage of the atmosphere at their home turf. But that doesn't mean it will be an easy match for Lens or Marseille. It is difficult of course to determine who will be the winner because in strength they are not much different. A draw is also very likely to occur in a big match like this.

Montpellier managed to beat Rennes with a narrow score of 1-0. Of course, no one expected this result, especially even though Rennes had an away match at Montpellier's home, as the team that was favored to win, they failed to steal any points. On the other hand, even though Montpellier suffered a loss after one of its players received a red card in the 53rd minute, the result could not break Montpellier's spirit to secure victory at home. The goal scored by Mavididi in the 84th minute also sealed Montpellier's victory and Rennes had to go home without bringing a single point.
In a situation lacking 1 player, Montpellier still managed to score 1 goal and made Rennes have to admit defeat. Actually, Montpellier is also not too special in implementing the strategy, in fact they only had 2 shots at goal and one of them was a goal. Rennes, on the other hand, tried to take control of the match, but they were not very creative in dismantling the defense built by the home team, and made them have to swallow a negative result at the end of the game.

I actually thought after the red card, Rennes will actually be able to take advantage of that. But they actually were not able to. In the end, they actually conceded late in the match. This really should have gone the other way. It was actually a little surprising. Even with a man advantage, the results were not in favor of Rennes. I also have to give credit to Montpelier.

Their finishing was bad even though they won possession of the ball and the chances of them being able to excel were still not going to be easy.
Montpellier were really very disciplined when applying conditions where they continued to defend, especially after Savanier was sent off by the referee. Their discipline was very good in this game on the contrary, Rennes was also a bit rushed and not too calm which made them have to be willing to drop points this week as well as widen their gap with Lille at this time which with this defeat their gap has increased to 3 points.
On a different note, I think we need a stronger team in League One to challenge PSG. And I also believe that PSG will never be able to win the League One title consistently if an equivalent team is added to compete with PSG in League One. Compared to PSG in Ligue 1, the rest of the teams are underperforming so I don't think Ligue 1 is properly competitive.

Honestly I think that it was a deserved win already because Marseille made a really huge effort in this game. Despite playing away they didn't see it as any problem for themselves.
Marseille is by far the best away team in the league so them winning away was not such a big surprise. I agree that it was deserving win, but still they had a lot of luck too as both goals were product of Lyon's big mistakes.

The Marseille team is second in the Ligue 1 points table. The Marseille team has been performing extremely well, managing to win most of the matches against any team. In today's match, Marseille managed to defeat Lion by a great margin of 2-1.

I didn't think that Monaco would be beaten with a landslide score by Lens. whereas, Monaco should have been able to compensate and provide resistance to the home team. unfortunately, Monaco appeared with a very bad performance. as a result, Lens is back in 2nd place with a difference of 9 points from PSG and 2 points adrift of the team below Marseille.

--

I think if you have a look at the whole season, Lens did an amazingly good job. In both seasons after they returned from Ligue 2, they did very well and delivered some solid results both years achieving a 7th rank. This year it is a bit as if they have taken the next step and are able to persist and win the important games in order to secure one of the most wanted ranks in the league, which is of course the 2nd to 3rd rank and one foot in the door to the Champions League. They did not only win against Monaco, but they dominated the game throughout and all statistics are in their favor. I haven't had a look at the financials, but I guess that Monaco also has a higher budget and Lens achieved this with minimum financials compared to the bigger clubs from Ligue 1. Good to see some newcomers make their way into international soccer.

In fact, PSG spend money when they didn't need to spend and they hired players they didn't actually need for example they hired many famous and expensive forwards but they didn't spend enough money to hire a better coach and that's why this team is unbalanced which can a reason for PSG to get bad results in both french league and champions league.

The problem of the club is not the coach, every have different pattern of football. Thomas Tuchel pattern was counter attack and they really got good chances of winning the UCL but lost to Bayern Munich. Pochettino Mauricio did the same thing, winning the domestic league one title but was unable to lift UCL. The Parisians board have stated clear their ultimate priority is winning UCL. Paris Saint German are popularly known for their finance stability and also good in the transfer window. The club always signed top big names in football, they're ready to sacrifice more money for hyped players. Christophe Galtier is doing an excellent job, but managing an elite club that comprises of stars, It's seen as a little bit difficult.

As for the question of coaches, honestly, I see that the problem is in the direction of PSG, which makes good coaches not accept going to train PSG, days ago I read a rumor that Zidane prefers to go to Juventus than to PSG. zidane who lives in france, prefers to leave a team that would give him a much better salary and that is also in france, but zidane prefers juventus, which is a team that is in italy and does not have the same great financial resources that PSG has, I think the reason is simple> PSG want immediate results, they want to win the champions league immediately
Zidane looks to be a good choice for PSG but he does not want work for them. Does Zidane want to see some annoying star players to be sold first then he will take that position?
It sounds a good plan for him as handling conflicts with star players is very headache and Zidane's biggest target is the coach position of France. With too high salary for Neymar, it's hard for PSG to find a club which is ready to buy the player and satisfy his salary demand.

Personally I think Zidane doesn't want to coach PSG. And if the PSG management is able to convince Zidane to take over as coach, we could see a lot of changes within PSG's squad. Zidane has his own squad. PSG has proved that it is not possible to maintain the performance of the team with a lot of star players. They need experienced coaches. And the coach should be given full freedom. Only then will PSG's overall condition improve, I believe.

All of big players that already signed by PSG was leaving from the club with very bad impressions. It's not only messi but neymar too. PSG was spending too much money for nothing. It was always able to win league 1 but this is a common trophy, PSG never had a good achievement in the europe competitions. It was aiming to get UCL but PSG was failed two times in a row even with messi on it. Winning UCL is not only about having a guy who can help the club to get everything.
I think that if galtier didn't even know about that. Galtier needs to be replaced first. There are so many candidates that can perform so well. PSG needs to restructure its team. It's now always relying with messi.

I agree with you, the worst part is that they didn't do research on neymar and simply went to hire neymar and today they have to be paying a high salary while the player doesn't play often, a concrete example of that is that currently the PSG doesn't have neymar but still PSG is doing much better without neymar, I see that if PSG had focused on other better and less expensive strikers they would have made the best choice. Sometimes I think that at PSG it's not the coaches who choose the players who should be signed
Neymar had an excellent match to help Barcelona making a come back in Champions League against PSG. A few months later, PSG bought him from Barcelona and I thought they hoped that Neymar will repeat his world class performance in Paris. Unfortunately, after moving to PSG, Neymar got more injuries and generally he did not play well but in important matches when PSG need him the most, he missed those matches by injuries. The same for his contribution for Brazil national team in latest World Cup tournaments. Maybe it is a destiny of Neymar but PSG are responsible by not looking carefully at Neymar's medical record.

Rennes lost points in an important match for them. They lost their chance to be 5th by losing 1-0 to montpellier away from home. There was no goal in the first half and montpellier, who were down to 10 men early in the second half, of course started to lose control of the game.Rennes, who increased the pressure, struggled to find a goal.In the last minutes of the match, bluididi found the goal and managed to put his team 1-0 ahead and get the win.
In the last match of the day, Marseille won 2-1 away against their strong rival and managed to maintain the point difference with PSG.Marseille, who led with Cengiz Ünder's goal in the first half of the match, could not prevent Lacazette's goal in 68.In the last minute, Gusto scored an own goal and Lyon had to be defeated.

this theory of mine comes from some time ago, because looking at the composition of PSG players there are many doubts that the coaches have chosen all those players, I see the case of neymar as an example of this, many coaches know that despite being a good player he he just doesn't play for most of the season, so it doesn't make any sense to hire neymar, in psg's defense he's also a disaster that I think the coaches didn't have an opinion when choosing the players

The Lyon - Marseille game is going on right now and the current score is 1-1. We are in the last ten minutes of the game right now and Marseille had better improve their performance more to be able to get a win.

Because winning this game is important for them not to lose their place to Lens in the standings. Marseille were the much better side in the first half and got 1-0 ahead also. But they couldn't prevent Lyon from increasing their productivity in the second half. This helped Lyon score the equalizer. This was already going to be a tough game for Marseille so I won't be surprised if they lose two points here. They will still be one point behind Lens then but the second place is really important to be able to join the CL group stage directly.
Marseille got a late goal and they won this game vs Lyon. With Lens winning vs a hard opponent like Monaco, Marseille don't have a chance apart from getting the 3 points in order to stay in front of Lens and to maximise their chances for a Champions League spot since the other is already taken by PSG.
In the other matches there were many unexpected results such as Nice, Lorient, Rennes and Reims games..

In the end, Marseille was able to overthrow the home team with a score of 1-2, as I predicted. very lucky, Marseille won full points and again took the position occupied by Lens in 2nd place.

Actually, this fight took place quite tough. In fact, Lyon actually controlled the game with 60% ball possession. Unfortunately, they didn't get many chances in this match. especially, in the first half.  Lyon simply had no chance to shoot on target.
conversely, Marseille has more opportunities. recorded, they made 14 total shots, 7 of which were on target, 5 were off target, 2 shots were blocked. unfortunately, after taking the lead in the 44th minute with Cengih Under's goal. Marseille were unable to hold on to their lead though, in the end Lyon scored an equalizer in the 68th minute. the match continued quite tough, but unfortunately, Malo Gustafo cost his own team by committing an own goal. as a result, Marseille was lucky and won this fight.

Reims lost their balance after losing to Marseille and only won once in the last 5 weeks. If they hadn't lost points in these weeks, maybe they would be in 5th place instead of Lille. These point losses made it difficult for them to qualify for the European Cups and we can say that it is much more difficult for them now.Strasbourg's win in this match was very important for them.Every point is important for them as they are in the relegation zone.Of course, the importance of an away win against such a fit opponent is more important.

Nantes destroyed a super beautiful multi parlay ticket with odds of 25 which I would have won as I just bet my last money of the week in this ticket you can find the link below.I thought that Troyes is the weakest team of Ligue 1 and Nantes playing at home would win this game in order to be safe from relegation themselves but no,they screwed up really badly and they were even leading the game.I believe the penalty for Troyes to have changed completely the rhythm of the game, look what beautiful parlay French teams as always ruined for me,I am never betting on them anymore.
