As the market becomes more saturated more users are turning towards the top two crypto coins and those who had already invested into other altcoins have starting shifting their funds towards Bitcoin and Ethereum as other altcoins have failed to capitalize the market. If this continues then how will altcoin survive? is it just the matter of time or something which altcoins need to work on by working on the missing link.

Obviously if you're an intelligent investors, it only makes sense to invest on bitcoin and ethereum and forget all the shitcoins right now. Alt market is on a bearish trend so it's really hard to make money unless you know a thing or two about pump-and-dump. It's a tough competition out there, but I don't think that shitcoins will survived this storm, they will simply die a natural death. So just stick to bitcoin and the rest of the top ten altcoins and you will be good.

Yes indeed, I have already diverted my funds which were into altcoins towards Ethereum and bitcoin as I don't even thing\k of risking on other top ten altcoins due tot he terrible experience which I had by investing into Ripple (XRP) as well as Stellar (XLM) as these were top alcoins and Ripple even toppled Ethereum at one instance to become 2nd best cryptocoin and then it was shattered. It will be better to play safe by sticking to BTC/ETH instead of experimenting.

There are some altcoins that will have a commercial future as they become the central hub of business activity. Like for example Vsys or Libra.
Never heard of Vsys.  The potential of Libra is uncertain at best, tho and its not even a given that it will be released.  Plus its supposed to be a stable coin, and if so I don't believe it will have much of an impact on crypto in general.  Nobody likes a crypto that won't make a profit even if facebook churned it out.  I'm not saying Libra won't get used for anything, but its not going to be the next bitcoin by a long shot.

Don't forget Tether, It is getting echoed in the news and can become more and more people are adopting it right now I don't know the glimpse how this started but it is making sure progress little by little, I  am still skeptical about stable coins but if it will become a potential in the future why not, But  still I will still stick to Decentralized instead.

And regarding the future of Altcoins, Maybe some will survive the harsh environment of cryptocurrency and people now tend to look for a cheap alternative when newbies are still starting to proceed in the crypto space, I guess slowly Altcoin can redefine itself in the future, but no one can conquer the domination of Bitcoin to the top.

Markets are created by two types of things. Either there are securities or their are derivatives which derive their value from underlying securities. Now, securities are based on some assets and some operations which provide return and therefore value of security is appreciated. Bitcoin is an asset due to a tremendous blockchain which has a lot of users using it as a means of payment settlement. Ethereum on the other hand handles a lot of smart contracts therefore is an asset too. Coming to the rest of altcoins, Ripple has been doing nothing except announcing it's plans, other altcoins too aren't specifically doing anything than just announcing their future ventures So I think it's the time when investors want some results from altcoins before they can go on and invest in them. This is the reason altcoin market is not working.

Most large scale altcoins, including Ethereum are no longer deemed as security because they have been decentralized enough.

This was big news a few days ago when a top SEC official said that Ether is not a security.

I can not say the same thing about Ripple however, it is highly centralized. Take a look at this op-ed piece on Medium : Is the Ripple Centralized or Decentralized?

now it seems that so many altcoins are dead and left by their owners.
I think, no more than 20 altcoins will survive in the future.

For me, it will be a crypto world.
Why are we being divided by this altcoins?
There is already a better one and tested for so many years.
No scams around it and have been private throughout those years.
Maybe this will be something good in the long run.

in the future bitcoin will still survive and can be a very strong and very expensive coin, but for altcoin this depends on the project being developed, when altcoin still has a request or there are still using altcoin as an alternative transaction then altcoin can still survive and this only certain altcoins can survive.

Yes, there are many altcoins which can be used as the quickest mode of payment transfer when compared to bitcoin but their survival depends on their development, moreover the scam projects and similar sort of altcoin is hurting them badly if you have a look there will be atleast 10 project with same concept. I believe all the altcoins which are unfit will be dead during the next market correction and only the likes of ETH and other unique altcoins will survive.

This is cyclical. When the market is neutral or bearish, capital flows towards safer assets like BTC. When the bubble is in full swing (like late 2013 or early 2017) it flows into risk assets like altcoins.

Markets are cruel. They tempt you into selling bottoms right before the bull run. Don't sell the bottom this time. Wink

                                      ~snip~

The future of altcoins is still good regardless of the current market conditions.
depending on what altcoins are we talking mate, what others says and also me is that many altcoins may die soon because the truth is not all of those are legit and im sure you will agreee as well
Quote
We are in the bear market and a time will come when this phase will be over but this does not mean that after this all the alt-coins will Boom.
yups and thats why many are panicking because they are losing {though the truth is you don't lose until you sold the coins/tokens}
Quote
Only the altcoins which have a proper working team and project will again gain the momentum while the rest of the shit coins will be buried to death.

thats the reality and must happen, shitcoins are only making market dirty in the views of legit investors so they must be eliminate

I honestly don't think a lot of altcoins have a very reliable future, there are only specific coins I think that are going to be fine in the future.

Only utility coins, stablecoins and BTC will have a future I reckon.

Utility coins because they will actually be used in platforms and as long the platform is doing well, the coin will as well.

Stablecoins when people want to be safe but not actually cash out.

And BTC, because BTC is king.

The future of altcoins is still good regardless of the current market conditions. We are in the bear market and a time will come when this phase will be over but this does not mean that after this all the alt-coins will Boom.

As the market becomes more saturated more users are turning towards the top two crypto coins
there is no "top two" in this market. there has only been one top coin and that has always been bitcoin. then there is thousands of altcoins.

Quote
and those who had already invested into other altcoins have starting shifting their funds towards Bitcoin and Ethereum
if they were then ethereum price shouldn't have been dropping for the past 2 years consistently!

nothing has changed in altcoin market not for eth and not for any of the other couple of thousand  coins. they come alone, get pumped for a while then fail and go away. the bigger ones take years to die the smaller ones die faster. that's all.

You need to get your facts straight. Libra is not supposed to be a stablecoin. It is pegged to a basket of assets that is - in popular economics - much more stable than any single currency.

And the creation of a monetary system is not fueled by the idea of gaining money as the instrument becomes more expensive, if it were that, then it would be a security. Money is not security.

The rising price of a newly created alternative currency (crypto) benefitting the "investors" is just a side effect of what the whole game is about.

I am way too sleepy right now to explain further, I suggest you google a bit.

You can't blame people to do this kind of scheme. Many have lost huge asset just on investing on new start up project. Yes, If I'm on their case I'll be on the same path. Bitcoin is the safest of them all, and those top 10 altcoins that might have chance to do better. Many altcoins are created just to earn profit and you cant blame them those who trying to risk their money for that. Just invest on altcoin but trade wisely not invest for a long time who knows you might just burning youre money.

That hasn't quite happened yet although I think the time is coming when most altcoins are going to go to zero.  That may be years away.

You must realized how many altcoins we have and this hindered the growth as many needs to be chosen by investors so the capital is segregated to many whole bitcoin stays the opponent

So altcoins must be lessen for the good ones to survive and for me many alts will die soon and the legit will remain.shitcoins also dominating the market in which almost all are manipulated and this is one of the reason why investors are scared to put large investments

There are some altcoins that will have a commercial future as they become the central hub of business activity. Like for example Vsys or Libra. While most shitcoins would just die a slow and painful death.

However, we will have a future where stablecoins become the staple of cryptocurrency-centric transactions. We're already 98% digital in all our daily economic transactional requirements, and we'll get to that crypto future soon if we all made a conscious effort. Of course, it would involve a lot of politics, but it is what it is.
