There is no direct relation with Bitcoin and altcoins, to be honest, but as far as I observe I think people prefer to put their money in stable altcoin when Bitcoin is down instead of putting in Fiat currency and again move their funds in Bitcoin as soon as it gets momentum. It is difficult to predict what will happen down the road in this context but investors will definitely put their amount in a better altcoin if there is no Bitcoin.

Exactly. Its the investors who are fully behind it. Now a days, investors started looking at altcoins who are cheap and have good growth in the market. Less investment brings a lump of profit. Always investors look for coins which seems to have a good growth and invest. If bitcoin seems to be promissing when they invest, then of course they willl move towards bitcoin, if suppose other altcoins seems to be promissing their profit than bitcoin, yes they do move towards those altcoins.

future altcoin i think will depend with bitcoin. because in marketpun sales can only use btc, eth or dollar. so if there's no bitcoin I think altcoin sales will have trouble.
Maybe this good be a opportunity for altcoin to Excell in the  world of cryptocurrency. This could be the big break of altcoin but Ialso doubted that bitcoin will be out of phase, I doubted that it will be lose in the system in the future because as what I know bitcoin is the root of the digital currency.

Don't agree with you at all here. There is a big relation between bitcoin and altcoins and I have observed this relation on many occasions. I would say that altcoins and bitcoin depend on each other in many ways and both require the other for different purposes. Bitcoin's rising popularity is attracting many people from around the world which is helping the altcoin market in a big way. I am confident that this will not change since bitcoin will always be the king of the crypto market.

yes. now we know that bitcoin determines altcoin price. when bitcoin goes down and altcoin also goes down, but this is not the end of crypto world. and this is normal because the crypto world fluctuations are very high. and I think if BTC strike then consequently some altcoin will die and some will remain alive. and altcoin that is alive is a good altcoin. today we can see that maybe NEO and MKR are altcoin that can survive when bitcoin price goes down

Heard the theory that Alts prices are related to the momentum of change in BTC price.  When BTC price goes up or down with great momentum, Alts prices drop.  When BTC price moves sideways / stagnates, Alts tend to go up.

Hmm, it is doubt. The King is always King. If king felt the kingdom will be in danger.
Like wise it will definitely affect for the crypto and alt coins.

Hello!

With the recent decrease in value of Bitcoin, the value of almost all the altcoins dropped too.
Now BTC is rising again and so are the altcoins.

I am thinking that if Bitcoin ever crashes, I mean completely drops to a very low value and when doesn't increase anymore.
Then the altcoins are going to drop too and won't have a high value anymore too, which means the cryptocurrency world will die.

Is my statement just nonsense or can it be correct?

I'm curious of what you all think will happen to the altcoins if BTC crashes for real.

I think it is the other way around. If bitcoins die or lose all of its value in one go, investors would find an alternative for bitcoins. Something way way more better than bitcoins in terms of features and the total supply within the blockchain. So I guess, the alt coins' price cumulatively will rise.

Though there is a correlation between bitcoins and altcoins but altcoins future dont depend on bitcoins because altcoins are based on a value of a company or products. So without bitcoins, these altcoins will still be active since these companies will still be active.

if I think allcoin very influential in bitcoin, because bitcoin is the reason for the emergence of alcoin, if we can take a look bitcoin being soared, automatic alcoin that exist in the down position will participate move, instead if bitcoin degenerate alcoin will also participate degenerate, so the future allcoin without bitcoin very concerned for alcoin.

Earlier I used to think that it will be impossible for the altcoins to exist without Bitcoin. But now, it looks like I was wrong. The Bitcoin dominance is at an all time low level, with the market share hovering around 36%. Adding insult to injury, now another crypto-currency (XRP) has breached the psychologically important $100 billion market cap.
Yes, the XRP buzz did change my view of bitcoin, just like you. However, despite the fanaticism of bitcoin as a pioneer, it is still difficult to move, which makes the bitcoin price unbeatable.

XRP got destroyed last week, and its market cap has almost halved to $56 billion. But at the same time, Bitcoin is showing no signs of a recovery. Its market dominance has further declined to 34.7%. Even if we add the forked coins such as Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin Gold, Super Bitcoin, Bitcoin United, and countless other coins, it is still going to be less than 40%.

Cryptocurrencies become popular just because of bitcoin and when it happen that bitcoin will collapsed or disappear, possible that cryptoworld will down also. Even though altcoins are started to established each platform but because of the absence of bitcoin it could be really affected.

I also thought about this in the future. If bitcoin is finished, I think all the altcoin will be on ethereum (ETH) or NEO. Or any altcoin that is accepted and used by the community.

altcoins will still exist if bitcoin will crash but it would greatly affect them as bitcoin is the primary exchange of altcoins. but altcoins would recover too in a while and maybe replace bitcoin. today we see altcoins with great potential like the ethereum etc.. and each of them have unique quality that they can show off.

but if bitcoin crash, this is the opportunity for altcoin to increase and at the other time, bitcoin will recover back and will increase back. altcoin now trying to rise again after the price is at the bottom price and it seems, every altcoin giving a good movement in the exchange. I think we can wait for a while to see altcoin adjust the new highest price and after that, we can see bitcoin start to increase back. altcoin in the future will still exist but I don't know what will happen if altcoin without bitcoin and I don't think that altcoin can survive without bitcoin because bitcoin and altcoin complete each other.

Bitcoin is a king of cryptocurrencies market. thus, whenever there is increase in value of bitcoin so does the rest of the market and if bitcoin price started to fall so does the altcoins. Many people in the market depend on bitcoin price to make their decisions. once the bitcoin price is falling they'll immediately cash out to avoid losing money and wait for the time when bitcoin will balance and then put their money back into the market.
