First of all,its hardly not possible now for bitcoin price to crash to very low price as it continuously has a huge buy wall.We all know well that all the altcoins are priced in bitcoin value. So their price is inter related with bitcoin price.

Whenever a bitcoin rally occurs, all the altcoins would start bleeding meaning that their prices would start to fall low. This is mainly because most of the altcoin holders would sell their altcoins to buy bitcoins on seeing its price increasing. So,it would make altcoins price to fall more.

On the other hand, when bitcoin price starts to fall, most of its holders would sell bitcoins this time and would start buying altcoins which would lead to increase in altcoins prices.

his is the regular phenomenon which we could see often in crypto market.

In my opinion, without bitcoin, there is no future for altcoin. Most of the altcoin will be 0, which is a sad thing, but can be expected.

Currently the buying and selling pressure of most altcoins and their market dominance depends on the market leader Bitcoin. If a wallstreet whale one day decides to dump majority of their Bitcoin holdings then you can expect a price drop. Looking at the weak hands tend to assume that the crypto market has lost a significant amount of market capital so they tend to short their altcoins as well. But today as you can see the markets have already corrected and rebound by a certain percentage which shows that all of these are temporary. Suddenly if some large whale adds a large buy wall then the price will increase and people will convert a certain percentage of it into altcoins.

Also, it could be very much possible that sometime in the future an altcoin could closely compete with Bitcoin and unless Bitcoin has its competing feature that could add value to it, it may struggle to compete. It's all a matter of time.

No actually, Because when bitcoin goes down, not the all altcoin dropped, there are some like ETH, LTC which shows good growth even after the huge drop in bitcoin. I see ETH and LTC as best altcoin right now.

If Bitcoin ever collpases completely I would imagine there will be a period of confusion and panic within the altcoins before a new leader rises to the top of the pile.

it is the market fall more than just bitcoin fall. Even today, bitcoin fell -5% but there are some altcoins that gained 100+%. So, your statement not entirely true but yes bitcoin fall affects other altcoins

Everything flows, everything changes. There will come a day when some kind of altcoyin will be used instead of bitcoin. The user consensus should solve this. This does not mean that other altcoys should die.

If the encrypted currency is now crumble, then your statement is very correct, that is, altcoin will also disappear with BTC. But with the continuous development and improvement of the community, I even think that in the near future one or several altcoin will slowly replace the market share of the BTC. Perhaps the trading volume of bitcoin will become smaller and smaller in the future.

you can think bitcoin is like US dollar and altcoin is any emerging market currency like Brazil. If US market shows good sign than other country also follow them. If US economy come down than other country also comes down. So no need to worry, it's temporary  correction on bitcoin.

Hello!

With the recent decrease in value of Bitcoin, the value of almost all the altcoins dropped too.
Now BTC is rising again and so are the altcoins.

I am thinking that if Bitcoin ever crashes, I mean completely drops to a very low value and when doesn't increase anymore.
Then the altcoins are going to drop too and won't have a high value anymore too, which means the cryptocurrency world will die.

Is my statement just nonsense or can it be correct?

I'm curious of what you all think will happen to the altcoins if BTC crashes for real.

maybe altcoin will go to crashes too because so far, I see bitcoin is like an adjustment for the altcoin and if bitcoin is crash, altcoin will be crashed too but some of the altcoins will try to survive. I think there will be other coin that will try to replace bitcoin if bitcoin really crashed and the adjustment will come that coins. I cannot imagine what is going on if bitcoin really crash and bitcoin doesn't increase anymore, maybe there is a chaos in cryptocurrency and it will impact all altcoin.

just because altcoins are been peered/traded with bitcoin doesn't mean if bitcoin dies altcoin will also die, this can never happen, if USD dies does it mean that other fiat currencies that are been peered to USD will also die? there must be an alternative.
bitcoin will not die same also altcoin. i believe you are just making an assumption.

Think before creating a post.

For any coin or altcoin they have no future if bitcoin crashes for real someday. They will survive only bitcoin still survive and strong.

It can't happen we already have btc and the possible now is the authorization in all country like bitcoin is a currency that can call international digital money like international language "ENGLISH".and still even bitcoin will gone altcoin value is still there because it's like btc also the only difference in altcoin and bitcoin are the exchanger of btc to fiat and the transaction.

I don't think the US government will allow bitcoin to change the world's currency right now, which is Dollars. With regards to the question, No it will not be possible that altcoins will survive without the bitcoin.

It is possible that other altcoins wouldn't also survive if bitcoin will disappear. More like the investors will not trust any transactions in the crypto world if bitcoin just crashes.
