The age limit placed on people below 18 year to keep them away frim gambling have not been most effective as we have hard records of under age gambling in many place and this is a pointer that casino has indeed misolaced their primary responsibility which is to prevent that from happening and that is why there is need for KYC.

Age limit is not a determinant to gambling responsibly because if we are going to address this as a whole from the scratch we could discover more that the aged ones often be the ones that abuses gambling by being addicted or found misbehaving while gambling which shouldn't be, but i can't blame some of them because they have gamble away what could have been of a benefit to them long time ago, what they now do is to forcefully gamble through inner frustrations.

There is nothing responsible about gambling and as a matter of fact, gamblers are mostly referred to as responsible people and in some countries, gambling is banned and citizens that indulge in them are arrested.

But then we still have a few others who can control their gambling urge, and this reflects in the kind of choices they make.

Not just a few, but the vast majority of gamblers are responsible gamblers. Research about it, and you'll be surprised by the numbers. This myth that gambling is like heroin, spread by gambling addicts as a lame excuse for their addiction. Like it's gambling sites to blame, not their own weakness and their own greed.

I don't think any timer needs to be in play. We are all at least 18 and can make our own choices in life. A casino is responsible if you gamble over your head.

    -  Well, honestly, I don't believe that only people above 18 years old play gambling here in crypto gambling. Because I read some people here in the forum that there are only high school students but are already engaged in this industry. That means he is also aware of the gambling that exists here for sure.

And I'm also sure that they have tried the gambling game here too and experienced a loss as well. Now, when it comes to kyc, they probably use other people just to get their winnings from playing gambling.

This is something that not only happens with gambling but it is very common at other activities, an example of this are video games, in which a person may want to play for some more minutes, minutes which then morph into hours.

Then it is important that people set themselves a time limit when they gamble, something which is trivial these days as even the most outdated smartphone out there should have an alarm and allow us to not gamble for a longer time period than what we intended.
I think we've all experienced it, whether in video games or gambling. And indeed, it can change everything because by continuing to play whatever it is, we can forget what we want to do. And if it's in gambling, we can experience defeat after defeat and if that happens, we can only regret it and lament why we didn't decide to stop and leave the casino.

Using an alarm to warn us can be a solution to stop immediately but we must really be able to follow those limits. Many people have limits on gambling but fail to follow them because the temptation to gamble is too hard to resist.
Like you said, even with an alarm to warn us about the exceeded time in that activity, it is very hard to stop it especially when we are currently experiencing lost that is if it is gambling but for other activities like video games an alarm could give just the right amount of awareness to stop it and attend to activities that are of more vital needs.

I think for the gambling aspect it is more difficult to stop it even if you are being alarmed about it because its hard to accept defeat and try later and only with a determined mine can you stop it and if you are a man of great principles.

I call that playing safely, there is no other way to call because if you already have that money that if you lose it does not affect the player it is a good strategy, and apart from doing that the important thing is that you will not have regrets, I Sometimes I apply that move, but then one ignores that strategy and deposits a little more, sometimes it recovers, but other times it loses, and that is a lot of risk and it does not comply with its own strategy, that can lead to losses and very painful, when I lose I try not to continue betting, it is the best, but that depends on how people play and face the eventualities of the game. I have already learned not to deposit anymore, because it is like wasting my money to lose.
We experience winning and losing in gambling, and that is normal. But when we experience many defeats and can't accept those defeats, perhaps that can make us suffer even more defeats. The risk of playing gambling is losing, and instead of experiencing what is worse, we must try to stop and get out of the casino. And if our strategy is not going well, we don't need to force ourselves or try another strategy, especially if our money is running out. There's still plenty of time to try other strategies, so it's better if we leave the casino and not feel disappointed. This is what happens when we play gambling.

Indeed, the person you've been conversing with has presented an astute observation of human behavior in relation to gambling. Betting is analogous to a moth being drawn to a flame. Despite the inevitable harm, it is irresistibly lured by the prospect of light.

The psychological trap of "just one more bet" is a potent one. It's akin to the infamous paradox of Achilles and the tortoise. Despite all logical indicators suggesting otherwise, gamblers believe they can catch up with their losses.

The subsequent regret is a fundamental aspect of the human condition. We often fail to act in our best interests, leading to remorse, which unfortunately is short-lived. It's somewhat similar to the phenomenon of cognitive dissonance.
"Just one more bet" really works for many gamblers so they are willing to use their money more than before. They think that by raising the stake one last time, they are betting it all but the result is not going their way. And in the end, it is the casino that takes all the winnings.

That is a condition where the gambler has a choice: to stop or continue. But most gamblers will choose to continue playing. After all, they said this was one last bet and no regrets whatsoever. But it turned out that in one last bet, the reality spoke differently because they all lost. It makes many people regret why they didn't stop immediately but instead decided to make one last bet before going home.

Minutes morphed into hours because video games are captivating, but still it's addiction, if you like foods that contains sugar you will end up with diabetes, mixture of bitter foods and sweat foods are more healthy, to be in good shape this is the way.

Addiction doesn't ends with gambling only, it's everywhere, pressing my smartphone every minutes is addiction, dropping your phone and taking some hours off brings a new refreshment for your health and even the eye.

Yeah you are right, addiction is everywhere if you are doing more than the usual then it can end up into addictions, proper balance both on your mental and physical can stay you away from any form of addiction. Though each types of addiction have different weight and the after effects is the outcome where it can ruin your life.

Moving back in applying it into gambling, it's a responsibility that you needed to work out the right way to avoid getting addicted
and lose a lot of money.

I agree with the OP that too much of everything is very bad, and gambling can be very addictive, because I had a neighbour that was a victim of addictive gambling,  he couldn't pay up his rent because he lost a huge sum of money from his business to sportybet while he was trying to double up like he said.

My advise to gamblers is that they should set their limit and gamble with what they could easily afford to lose.you can't be a salary earner of 100k and decide to use half of it for gambling with an idea of doubling up which is very risky, therefore while you're making profit from it you should expect loss as well.

However in a case whereby a person is too addicted to it and find it difficult to quit, they should seek help from therapists, or delete their accounts with gambling sites as well as avoiding gambling centers.

Age cannot be a guarantee that a gambler can be responsible for his choices because those who are just growing up still have unstable thoughts and cannot hold on to their founders.
What makes a gambler responsible is a goal and also a way of responding to all forms of action in gambling.
Maybe you can easily say that at least you have an age limit when you are in gambling, whereas there are many underage gamblers out there, can you understand that age is not a guarantee?

I think the casino already has a clever way of stopping us from going overboard, it's called our bankroll. Yup, that wad of cash you set aside for gambling is like a built-in stop loss. It's the designated sum you're willing to put on the line without crying yourself to sleep if you lose it all.

And as for the timer, I don't think that would work. Sure, setting a timer might sound like a good idea in theory. But let's be honest, when you're caught up in the thrill of the game, time becomes this elusive concept. Minutes feel like seconds, and hours disappear like magic. So, instead of relying on a timer, it's better to have a solid plan in place. Set your bankroll, as I mentioned earlier, and stick to it.

And the money we bring into gambling is money that we are already willing to spend, which will profit the casino. But if we can be responsible while playing gambling, we don't need to be afraid that we will run out of money because we will stop before the money runs out. But people who want more wins will not think so because they will use their money to chase other wins.

And it's only a matter of time before to see them take defeats they wouldn't even imagine because they were already over their budget of money that they could afford. This makes them regret knowing that they have lost their money. And we indeed have to set a bankroll before starting to gamble.

Yes, we still have to learn more about self-control because we often lose control when gambling. And there's no time to stop learning self-control because it's hard to do. But even though it's difficult, we still have to learn and try it because only that can prevent us from losing big. And even though many people have failed to control themselves, we must not give up and keep learning so we can gamble responsibly. After all, if we can do that, we will also benefit from that self-control to limit our gambling activities.
In my opinion, if someone knows his true nature, it means if he knows that he has a vulnerable nature or is easily provoked, it is better to avoid gambling because this will have a very bad impact on one's life. In addition, it is very difficult to know the true nature of a person's personality in him. Seeing other people entangled in gambling and losing everything, in my opinion, can be used as a reference so that we don't do the same thing or be in the same position. However, most people are curious, addicted when they win, and curious when they lose. They always think that they can be one of the lucky people among other people and are too optimistic, but if we think more clearly this is just luck, meaning they will win if luck comes.
Self-control is very important and anyone who have the character of self-control, make it very easy for such a person to leave successfully with others and be able to avoid some things such as gambling addictions and other addiction that may affect individual life negatively.

Gambling addiction is one serious negative factor that affects the overall acceptance of gambling in many places but if an individual has self-control then the case will be easy to deal with because there have been an increasing number of gambling addiction behavioural patterns among many recently.
I agree with you that gambling addiction is negative and gambling addiction can lead to serious mental problems. Gambling addiction has a very negative effect especially on marital and social life. Gambling addiction can lead to criminal tendencies and you need to know how to self control yourself. Self control is one of the greatest qualities of successful people. You must learn to control yourself to do the right thing at the right time. This one habit alone can change your life in a positive way.
But addiction is something that can be cured if that particular addict would really be having that strong will on quitting up everything for good but we know that not all would really be having that good mental

strength and this is why they do really fail in doing so and this is why they would really still continue to play despite on losing up so much money until they would realized that they havent much left.
Regret do always come at the end and people should really be mindful about the condition when it comes to finances specially if you are aware that you are already spending or losing much.
You cant afford to lose even more and on that case then stopping gambling completely would be your best choice to be done. If you wont really be that responsible then you would really be ending up
on a disaster. This isnt really just that limited on gambling but also in other crucial things in life which does need crucial decisions which its for the better good.

Isn't this what addiction is all about! Not being able to control yourself.
You spend time and other resources on a n activity although you don't profit much from it and it's probably causing more damage than good.
Personally, I believe only professional assistance can help addicted people. Most of the advices I've read on this thread like setting a budget and the like, unfortunately, usually don't work.

You are absolutely right dude! Setting time limits and practicing self-control are essential not only in gambling but in various activities, including video games. It's easy to get carried away and lose track of time when engaging in enjoyable and immersive experiences because they are made exactly to keep you engaged and not aware of time or other considerations.
It will be highly beneficial and client-oriented if casinos can implement the stop play timer on the feature of their casino where the player can set the limit of time of play on those casinos, just like stop loss in some exchanges the timer will help the player to be able to quite whatever session when the count down get to zero because it is very important for the timer not to be in the possession of the player but on the casino so that it can be properly followed.

I think it will be impossible for a casino to implement that,  timer and lockout of players since it will mean less wagering activity and obviously cut on the possible income of the casino since gamblers will then be prevented from playing for a longer amount of time.  It would be a good idea to stop players from losing more money at the casino but the casino will obviously follow the

You know, sometimes, maybe hardly ever, some people tend to lose self-control after getting into things like gambling or having drugs and doing other stuff that is addictive, they basically aren't that way but when they get involved and their minds get trapped, they find it difficult to get out after that and they lose the ability to control themselves or their mind, with some help from others, they might be able to get out of their addictions though.

I generally feel bad for people who get addicted to things and find it difficult to stop doing that thing, I've seen people who wish to leave their addictions but they say that it is not possible now because when they try, it almost becomes like a matter of life and death for them.
