professional gamblers are there mate , they will not be called as professional gamblers if they are addicted or stupid  in this field , those people are known to be expert in all areas of gambling and yes they can control completely their attitude and behavior.
they will not gamble continuously if they knew that luck is not with them,=.
Wouldn't really put professional gamblers up a pedestal about addiction and whatnot. They can still be addicted really, it's just they're more likely not to become one since they've been gambling for so long that they know what's up with it. Being a professional doesn't exactly mean you're immune to being an addict, it simply means you're being paid to do whatever said activity is.
Yeah I agree, no one is above the habit of becoming an addict. If you are a gambler and you understand the simple notion of losing too much or trying to win when it isn't coming then I can guess you can be able to refrain yourself from becoming a gambling addict. Professional or no professional gambling is still gambling and you can become addicted to it even if you have been playing for lots of years, in some way the gambling addict are actually the ones who find it really difficult to leave gambling.

Self control is the key but not all people would really be having that kind of control on what we are trying out to do because we are really that mainly been affected with several factors which it would lead us up

on forgetting on what we had set out earlier that we should really be having those limits but on the time that emotion would really be kicking in, then this is where those early plans would be destroyed and wont really be followed and this had been always the case on where a gambler where usually do end up on which they do wrekt up themselves in terms of finances just because they had able to lose control.
Once you do lose your control and involving up some money or funds then you would really be affecting it on huge scale.

This is why you should really be that responsible in towards your actions if you are really that touching up gambling space because the risks do goes up until into the rooftop.

I have seen in some cases of casinos that some of the users always blame the casino for fostering addiction, but this is something that cannot be done, the person who bets is not forced, the person plays under his own decision and bets what what you want, but in these cases, before entering casinos, they should state that every action that the players do is their Own and that the casino is not to Blame for possible addictions due to the loss of control of the player, and thus many problems would be avoided. Sometimes I see it on some sites, and so they don't get to ban it in some Countries for those Reasons.

Indeed, there are some actions taken by casinos that does foster addiction, like in terms of offers and promotions the gambler can hardly resist, or some other types of perks too...

But in the end, it all still boils down to the gambler's ability to decide to stay away, it's called discipline.

Its like in the days I was much younger, when I used to go fishing with my father and some of his friends, they catch earth worms, big ones the fishes in the water will hardly resist, which they put in the fishing hook as strap, by the end of the day, the fishes that saw the worm and resisted it are save, but those who saw and could not hold themselves back from wanting to taste, are caught and turned to meat, I believe this is easy to understand .

Recognizing and accepting risks is another aspect of gambling; a gambler is prepared to face the consequences of his or her actions at any time. Scams are rampant in gambling, and if the proper procedures are not followed, one will undoubtedly become a victim of a scam. Another contribution that people consider as a source of money is gambling. It's a passive but very risky, individuals can lose practically all money to gambling, the more losses you record, the more you start betting higher in order to recover your losses, and you end up having your accounts liquidated during the process.
Not many gamblers are ready to accept the risk of gambling and will only regret it when the money runs out after playing gambling. Responsible gamblers do not like that because when they gamble, they know that they also have the opportunity to lose. The only difference is that they are prepared for the loss and don't take too big a risk by losing more money. If people think gambling is a source of money, they should change their mindset and leave gambling immediately because gambling is not a place to make money. They don't need to lose any more money at gambling because it's not worth it, especially if they don't have much money. The higher we bet, the higher the risk of losing, so we need to limit the money, we gamble.

~snip~
It all depends on individual self-control. sometimes professional gamblers who can control themselves to continue gambling responsibly can still be released from it all when the emotion arises when they lose.
Actually gambling responsibly is easy to do but difficult to control, even though if all of that can be applied in one phase we will definitely be able to avoid addiction or disappointment because of losing money because of losing at gambling.
In simple terms we can gamble responsibly and don't go to gambling too often.
Having self-control is not easy, and as you said, a professional gambler can also lose control while gambling. But they can immediately realize their actions are wrong and stop before anything changes. By having responsibility towards themselves and their money, they will not gamble with a lot of money because it won't give many results but can give a lot of losses. Gambling responsibly takes practice and experience so we should keep trying it if we don't feel we have that responsibility. Do not let us be disappointed because we lose a lot at gambling or even become addicted to gambling because it will destroy our lives.

We must learn to control ourselves in gambling to avoid losses that can arise or come to us anytime. Only by having good self-control can we enjoy gambling and know when to stop before we lose a lot of gambling. But many people underestimate having self-control because they want to get big wins from gambling. And it's true. We must limit gambling so it won't end in a loss. Gambling can tempt someone to lose control and not remember the boundaries made, so they just want to continue playing gambling and not stop before they get that win. But in reality, they would only suffer losses.

As you say, that is easier said than done.

In practice, gamblers often lose control even though they are well aware of how to be a responsible gambler. we, you, even for the OP who shared tips in this thread, are not necessarily able to control ourselves every time. being responsible in gambling is an idea that we must apply, but it all requires good self-control. there are times when we are carried away by the atmosphere, whether it's when we are in a winning situation or vice versa. which in the end, defeat was inevitable. this is gambling, in essence we will always be faced with a choice, continue or stop. I'm sure, this urge is always a problem for gamblers, both when they are lucky or when they lose.
Agreed. I lost control on several occasions while gambling, but always gambled with money that I was willing to lose which is why I never regretted my choices. Improving self-control is a continuous process.

A small percentage of gamblers can control themselves effectively in any kind of situation.

To be honest, I also just found out that there is the term professional gambler, after all how and what is a professional gambler like, can a gambling addict be called a professional gambler, because in my opinion an addict's name does not mean he is a professional gambler because they only play based on emotion, greed, lust that had mixed in him uncontrollably.
I agree that being addicted to gambling does not make someone a professional gambler. While there may be a few exceptions, most addicted gamblers do not possess the necessary skills and experience to be considered professionals.

There is no exemption, gambling addicts can never be a professional gambler in their current status.  Professional gambler might become a gambling addict lowering their status from being a professional gambler to a gambling addict.  But I don't ever think that a gambler can be a professional gambler during their gambling addiction state.

Professional gamblers on the other hand, are highly skilled and experienced in their chosen games and employ strategies and techniques to improve their odds of winning and minimize their losses.  If you compare them with regular gamblers you can see a clear difference in terms of win/loss ratio. However, regardless of whether you are a professional gambler or not gambling is a high-risk activity, and there is no guarantee that you will end up making a profit and I believe that there's only few in thousands of long term gamblers that end up making profit from it.

I agree, since these professional gamblers are highly skilled and have control over thier actions, it is questionable to say that a gambling addict can be labeled as professional gambler.  It is the self-discipline that makes a gambler professional anyway.

To minimize the risks, professional gambling requires a deep understanding of the game, strong discipline, and a willingness to take calculated risks.

When you called a person professional, it is obvious that the person have deep understanding of the subject.  That also includes the practice of self-discipline.

Just came across this thread and I have to say that op did a good job mentioned so many important points that is helpful for both amateur and professional gamblers. Gambling responsibly is easier said than done.

Best gambling tip is to invest only what you are willing to lose so that you won't have any regrets later.

As you say, that is easier said than done.

I'm sure, this urge is always a problem for gamblers, both when they are lucky or when they lose. but yeah, anyway the tip the OP shared was very useful. in particular, it serves as a reminder to us when we experience successive losing situations.
well, the most important part is. gamble within our means, with money ready to lose.

When a gambler becomes an addict, it just means that he has not become a responsible gambler, it's that simple to understand. And it's not good when it continues to gamble.

We know that many families are destroyed by being addicted to gambling, so there should always be control and discipline to not lead to this situation of addiction. You should only play with what extra money you have, not even the money for the family will be gambled away.
The fact that you have no discipline and self-control everytime you gamble, that makes you an irresponsible gambler. And the moment you become an addict, expect that things will be happening out of your control that’s why some addict gamblers found theirselves being involved into crimes. That is why if we are not good enough in controlling ourselves especially our emotions, then it’s better that we should avoid gambling activities as much as we can.

Exactly! if you know by yourself that you can't control your emotions better to stay away from this activity, gambling always have a big risk, if you can't be responsible it will be a big risk for you, you might suffer from big losses and when you don't have the money to use for your gambling, you might loan a lot or to the point that you'll going to do crimes that may ruin your life.

Best to stay away and not to deal with it or just play for fun and don't engage that much.

This is what you said to only invest in the amount that can afford to lose, this is where there is always a problem. Often when winning with the amount that they are ready to lose, the gambling player eventually becomes greedy, because they think that their money will take a long time to equalize, but instead the amount that they deposited will increase even more.

So often in the end, winning is still a stone and regret is often in the end, so it is important to have self-discipline among ourselves as gamblers to be responsible as a player.
It's a general saying that, "we should bet/trade with the amount we can afford to lose," which I believe is part of valid advice for those that want to gamble responsibly. However, what you have explained in the end is good as it's a way to keep to a good gambling practice without interfering with someone's balanced lifestyle.

All responsible gamblers should always have their cautious rules/guide and must be strict to adhere to them with all discipline and determination.
if all gamblers could do that, I don't think any gamblers would be financially disturbed when they would continue to lose at gambling. those who feel devastated because of gambling are true because of their own mistakes because they cannot control the finances they use to play gambling. Gambling excessively is bound to make bad decisions, which is many gamblers' fault. they don't know when to stop and when to continue the game.

Op raises good points. I can confirm to the fact that your advise is applicable to gamblers of all levels. If I'm not mistaken, even people who gamble go there and use it to manage their finances and health at the same time because losing money too much—to the point where you have to sell your property—can force you to do other bad things that will harm your health, such as the previously mentioned anxiety, depression, and other things. this things happened to me when I first started gambling, and I put a huge amount of money in without knowing whether I would lose or win, and it affected me, therefore I think everyone seeing this can benefit from the op's advise, thank you man.
You are right that using a lot of money in gambling can affect your mental health at a very severe level if you lose it all time or even half of it. Most of the times, when someone loses half of their bankroll they start panicking and lose the other half only because of that since they start making bigger bets to recover the lost money.

It's better to be a responsible gambler and gamble only within your limits, even if you lose some of your money, you should not panic and you might get them back, but once you start panicking, you start losing more.

Professional gamblers are only paid when they join an event or compete in tournaments, and I think they are really doing their own gambling outside of it, so they are still prone to addiction, but again, they are professionals, which is why they are easily able to control themselves; they really have self-discipline. Also, I don't know anyone who is a professional, but I do say those who have been into gambling a lot for a long time and are also earning a lot are i would say they are professionals on the

I think professional gamblers are just partners of casino sites that you often see on video streamers tweet and win big money and it looks like professional gamblers because they play with the settings of the site not really win for real, they only get paid to display the wins that have been made by the casino, I think that's what professional gamblers call, because there really aren't any professionals but experienced gamblers might exist.
