I agree to what you said regarding the effect of comparing oneself to others when it comes to gambling. It does not bring good things specially if it isn't controlled.

Depends on a personality of a certain person because not all would really be having some concern in regards to other people on whats happening into them but if we are talking about a friend or family members then
it would really be that understandable that you would really be in concern and would be helping out because addiction isnt something that would really be that so simple to get out because once you do get shackled by it then it would really be hard to get out. This is why when you are a gambler then you should be mindful when it comes into your activity on which finances should be controlled and emotions as well.

Dont chase up losses and play according into your own leisure needs and not on having that intent on making yourself that rich via gambling because it cant really be just that possible unless if you are really that extremely lucky. Gambling addicts most of the time continue denying this problem with them, they will not agree that they are already addicted and will try to find reasoning in defending their addictions, only a few are willing to admit and willing to accept the help in working it out to quit the addiction that they already suffering.

I don't think so. I still believe there are responsible gamblers out there especially in this forum where this gambling addiction had been discussed a lot. They learned their lesson from their mistakes and they are now better gamblers who have not succumbed to greed.
Sports bettors especially, a lot of times we only gamble when there's a game and we don't really need to remain at betting sites for a long period of time. Just placing our bet is enough and then we rest and wait for the next game to happen again. Then, there is consideration like if we don't like the spreads or the game itself, we won't be betting at all.
