Actually it is true that this thread is very helpful for those who are not yet gambling addicts and while gambling addicts will rather ignore this thread because usually addicts will find it difficult to take any advice.
Small gamblers like me will definitely understand better that gambling is a place to seek pleasure online and must gamble using small amounts and be financially responsible so they don't chase losses too much which can end up being addictive.
But for some small gamblers there are also those who become gambling addicts who find it difficult to control when betting and always neglect to gamble responsibly.
It is because of their lack of knowledge about gambling, or they have other motivations when gambling, such as trying to make gambling their job to make money. When we have become addicts, it is true that it will be difficult for us to accept the advice given by other people, we will even be angry because we think they are interfering in our affairs, that's what I learned from people who are addicted to gambling. They will ignore anything, they might even lose everything including family. Yes, hopefully here we become responsible gamblers with everything we do.
I've had a friend who was a chronic addict to gambling, I've had the opportunity of advising him several times, he does give a listen ear, and will even agree with you that all you said is true, and that he would try his best to adjust, or quit.
But the problem then is that, all those talks and advices, always end at where it was discussed, after we part, he will continue with his gambling, normally like before or even worst than he used to...
One time, he told me that he appreciates me for all my care and advices, and wishes to do all that I told him to do, but always find it difficult to get himself to do it.
So sometimes. It's not really their fault that they are arrogant, stubborn or so, addiction is really a strong force, that sometimes, takes extra ordinary strength to break free from, and such strength is very rare.
