How can one control the uncontrollable urge to keep gambling despite the toll it takes on once life.

It's getting worse every day. I'm extremely depressed I have thoughts of unaliving myself more often, some times I feel the betting companies manipulate people spiritually to get them addicted where be playing without plans and strategy. Once a bet place get cut, there is this uncomfortable urge to quickly book another one with the plans of recovering the first money lost but it will end up cutting again.
I think you are the only one that can actually solve your addiction problem because with what you have explained it's very clear that you are addicted but on lower scale and lever but believe me if you continue it actually grows more worse so what I will advise you to actually stop the act by looking for activities that can fill up that space or void created by the betting habit, or better still be sincere to yourself and take a very bold decision and never look at back and be disciplined to yourself.

There is nothing spiritually about gambling and casinos, what you don't understand is the true meaning of luck, when something is all about getting lucky it becomes uncertainty, you don't want to be too into this like it's a reliable source of income, to get paid at work you need to render a good service and you will get your salary, but you can't say the same thing with gambling.

You will be messed up so badly if you believe that gambling will bring you all the dreams you desire, you are simply trying to cheat nature, if it's easy to make money everyone on the street will be millionaires, let this sink into your skull, accept that gambling is risky, you ain't going to get lucky almost all the time.

Do not solve income problem with gambling, it will never work that's why you are already in this shit hole called disorder, it's your own believe about gambling that's punishing you, sit down and rethink about gambling, there is no miracle to make money out there, you need to get a job and start saving up money, invest part of the money in good assets and only consider gambling with extra money, very small percentage from you income will do.

Breaking free from addiction could be very challenging but nothing is impossible with determination. The first thing I will recommend is to take a break from gambling. You need to have control over your gambling behaviour first and this could be ascertained if you can stop gambling for a while. If you feel you will do better without gambling, you can consider quitting but if you think you can now control your behaviour, then let us move to the next step.

Sit down and write a gambling plan attaching how much money and time you want to put in. Try all you can to follow these plans and don't give in to temptations to spend more than you have budgeted. Avoid chasing losses because you cannot recover lost funds by gambling more. You have to follow the gambling plans judiciously and you might become lucky oneday. But if you know you cannot control your gambling behaviour consider stopping. Avoid friends who are gamblers, block gambling ads from your phone and everything that triggers you to gamble.

Once a bet place get cut, there is this uncomfortable urge to quickly book another one with the plans of recovering the first money lost but it will end up cutting again.

There are many types of gambling disorders, but it seems like you have a pretty serious case. in fact, I have no intention of teaching you or trying to patronize you, or even judge you for the gambling you do. but let me share an experience that I have had. however, it is important to note, in every case experienced by every person who has a disorder like the one you said in this thread, the actions or methods of healing or how to deal with it are different. but you can try to do the treatment that I did before, when I was addicted.

The first thing I did, was to recognize myself. believe it or not, for me it works and is useful. in this process, everything depends on each individual who has this disorder in the process of recognizing themselves. in this case, the meaning is very broad. however, let's relate it to gambling. imagine, what is your goal for gambling. the answer is simple, to win. regardless of the idea of having fun, or entertainment. If you are aware of this, then the root of the problem is your desire and ambition to get money quickly from the gambling you do. When you play a gambling session, you always lose. Actually, bookies or casinos are not like what you describe. but we are the ones who manipulate our minds, with the lure of wanting to win every session. In fact, casinos often give winnings according to the portion. because we don't feel satisfied, or a new game has started. in the end, we continue the game. which ended, as happened to you yourself.

Now, let's return to the first point. after you try to know yourself. Try asking yourself, in a calm situation, what are we looking for in gambling. money, pleasure, entertainment, whatever it is you have to answer it honestly with yourself. then, consider which one is better and will not harm or even harm you. If you are looking for money, you can get it by working. If you are looking for fun and entertainment, then budget as much as you can afford. Forget about your past defeats, because it is almost impossible to recover them. especially, if you have been gambling for years. also, try to balance it with a new understanding of the gambling you do.  shape yourself with responsibility, then you will have self-control. But before all this process, the real challenge is how do you train and make peace with all the defeats you experience. thus, you will not try to chase losses in your gambling sessions, because you have a new understanding of your gambling. If you feel like stopping, keep training yourself until you really recover. one more thing, it all starts to be built from yourself and on your own awareness.

Take it easy on yourself buddy, good a thing you have that realization that you have turned an addict to gambling at least with this consciousness in you you can work it out with the support of your good friends and family to find possible solutions to whisk you out.

Your addiction didn't all happen in one day so don't be to hard on yourself to get rid of it in a very short time, it's going to be a gradual process provided you're intentionally serious to deal with it. From your detail explanation it appears you're a sports bettor, so I'll advise if you have played one or twice bet for the day affirm it to yourself that it's enough for that day. Take it upon yourself not to exceed twice a bet in a day, continually do this then gradually you will find it easy to drop to just one bet in a day and before you know it you can go on a whole day without carrying out any gambling activity.

The mistakes made by some gambling addicts that wish to stop gambling addiction is that they think it's something that has to be stopped at once, they forget it's an attitude/behavior they have built overtime and it needs a gradual process to also quell it totally and not an instant result stuff. An instant result strategy may turn a boomerang and worsen the addiction. Take note!

Literally, whatever is uncontrollable cannot be controlled but then  the urge to gamble is controllable even though it is not easy because addiction generally is very difficult to control. I will make some suggestions on how the urge can be controlled.

First, need for self help. This means that a gambler must first of all understand and accept that gambling causes more pain to him. It is this realization that will make him seek for ways to stop because someone cannot seek a solution when there is no problem.

In addition, there is a need for a daily, weekly, or monthly target. What this means is that a gambler should set aside a specific amount of money he must use to gamble in a day whether he wins or not. Once he exhausts the amount, that's all about gambling for that day.

Furthermore, he should control his greed. By this, I mean that he shouldn't gamble with the hope of becoming a millionaire overnight but he should learn to build up gradually. With this, he will reduce the risk and that can guarantee him more winning probability.

If you're in a very bad situation it is time for you to reach out to people who can help you like your family, when you feel very depressed and feeling worse a lot of worse things come to mind, It is not your fault that you are in that situation we are just human and we tend to lose ourselves, especially on something that excites us and give us false hope.

The best step is to have an open dialogue with your family and have you consult to medical professional sometimes our excitement causes imbalances in our hormones, I have seen people's behavior because of chemical imbalances and they need medicines to calm their nerves, you will not know this if you don't consult a professional.

You cannot blame the casinos because they have a warning in their terms that you should gamble at your risk and only play with money that you can afford to lose, unfortunately in your case, you failed to do this.

That's a severe case already OP, if you can still do it, try going to a rehabilitation center or a mental healthcare professional to assess and help you with your issue, I know that depression is a difficult thing to get out of but remember that your sadness and loneliness that you're feeling is justified and it's no reason to end your life because there's more to it, you may not see it yet because of the veil that's put on you by that extreme feelings of sadness but it's there and you don't have to be so quick about your recovery, take the time to do it even if it's snail's pace, take that step. I can't really sympathize or get exactly what your feeling because we've got different experiences but I do believe that we're all the same when it comes to the fact that there's good things coming in the future.

This kind of thoughts is gone crazy if you take gambling as source of income. Whatever statistics or strategy do you make there will be higher chance that you still loss, especially on common games like dice, slots, etc. You could always think there's a manipulation going when you loss. Unlike if you are in sports betting. Where the points of team or individuals are the one who is going to decide for the win, although it's not always the case.

Gambling as a source of income.. No matter how I think about it, that won't be possible. Just like you said, the chances for gambler to lose is really high and in the long run the accumulated lose will become even bigger.
Sports betting isn't easy to win as well. Not, unless if you want to place a bet with an ML in heavy favourite team. 70% of the time, stronger teams always come out victorious, but it's still a bit risky since you're betting double or triple of the winning amount.

Thankfully, you reached out in this forum about your current situation. Let me ask you: do you think taking your own life is worth it? Yeah, I know you may say that we don't know what you feel or what you are going through, but in this section, I'm sure all of us are the same. We have some point in our gambling lives where we get too frustrated and depressed because of losing a lot of money, but the question is, do you think it will be worth it? Instead of sulking or whatever, why don't you stop yourself? Control yourself all the time, and will you have to stop yourself from gambling, especially if you yourself see that gambling doesn't do anything good to you? Believe me, it's not worth it. If you have the time to think of doing bad to yourself, dedicate that to changing yourself. Don't be a coward; you are the one who put yourself in that situation. Face it and recover. There are worse problems out there. Help yourself because there are more things you could do than gambling. It's not too late to change.

I think there are a dozen of threads discussing gambling addiction.

But if you feel things are enough you actually can stop it and people in here gonna support you the simple thing and just opinion from me is not to deposit again. I know you might lose all of your money but if you keep remember what you lose it will encourage you to deposit more and everything gonna fall apart.

Next time if you want to play gamble just make sure you have put limit and budget so you can fall in the same pit again.

I lost much in gambling forex trading and futures trading but If I remember it all there is a feeling i should deposit more and make comeback but those is hard to get so I would rather to choose forget about it and not ruining my head

Do you have any friends or relatives who could help you, at least to talk and to stay with you during the harsh moments? It could help a lot, but first of all you have to have a legit desire from the bottom of you heart to stop gambling and to overcome this addiction.

Then I suggest you excluding every accounts you have at casinos. Identify what motivated you to gamble the first time you did, and then look for another means to fulfill those same expectations you had regards gambling. Try to find alternative activities you could practice that are pleasant and rewarding (not financially, but emotionally), probably something you were used to do before you developed the addiction.

Occupy your mind with another subjects, hobbies, interests... You life can't be summarized to gambling. There must be another stuff you enjoy which will make you happy. When you feel the urge to gamble, just think that by doing this you will be losing money. Don't give yourself the right to think there is a possibility of making profit. Due to the current stage you have reached, for you this possibility just doesn't exist!

I have already seen a situation similar to yours happening to someone close to me, the fact of stopping betting is certainly a very difficult challenge for anyone struggling with gambling addiction.
The first step you have already taken is recognizing the problem, as knowing how to identify the signs of betting addiction, such as the constant need to bet, loss of control over the game and prioritization of betting to the detriment of other activities, is a step fundamental to facing addiction and many do not even manage to do so.

But, if you have tried to stop on your own and failed, then you need to seek professional help... this is essential as having the support of psychologists, therapists and support groups specializing in addiction can provide you with the necessary tools to deal with it.
Other than that, also try to set realistic goals to stop betting and set goals that are achievable in this process... it will be difficult, but try to find a healthy replacement for gambling, such as playing sports, a hobby or creative activity... You need to fill your time and your mind with other things, otherwise you'll just be thinking about the game until the moment you can't resist anymore.

Also avoid "triggers and gambling environments", stop passing by or places where you know there is a casino or slot machine, change your routine, lock your computers or "forget" your cell phone at home from time to time. when.... avoiding situations that lead you to the temptation of gambling.
Friends and family are also very important... count on them if you can.

Please don't do anything stupid. Just try to relax your brain first.
Forget about the losses for now. If you still want to gamble then I suggest doing it with low amounts. Try to identify how the gambling works in rhythm. I wish you also shared the game you are playing so that we could give you more pointers.
If it's casino games, you will most likely lose by a ton. If it's sports betting then it's easy to control it and you will lose not too much on those games because it's per event and you don't need to gamble the whole day.

In my case, I always test the seeds first. I bet at the lowest amount possible and test it for 10k bets. It will be fast at auto bet and instant bet features. Now, if I observe the seed is giving a good RTP then I will likely use that for a long time because somewhere in all those bets it will give enough to bring back the losses or better, some wins too so we can get back what we had lost before.
We must be wiser than the system and it's not easy because they can see everything. But if we could somehow make a strategy that will be good for us then use it. I've learned this from other gamblers and I asked them why they test the seed first. Now I know why. I had my share of losses too because I've been greedy and tried to chase losses by increasing the bet amount. It actually doesn't work that way.

If you love doing something, there's always the urge to do it all the time. The same with gambling. However, you simply can't indulge in it every time you want it. It is damaging. So, you must have the discipline to somehow put a structure to it.

Now, if you can't anymore control the urge to gamble, it must mean you need professional help. If you cannot anymore say no to it, you need intervention. I advise you to consult a professional.

In the meantime, try to distract yourself from it. Surely, there must be other things that you would also enjoy doing. You might want to focus on it.

You're having a serious encounter.

Go outside and keep yourself away from your devices if ever you're doing online gambling which is likely you're doing. Get some fresh air and enjoy the works of nature and its beauty.

That's one way to relieve that stress and depression that you're dealing, it's for free or might take you some money to travel somewhere else in your locality but I assure you that you'll have a better perspective about life.
Getting yourself that isolated with gambling is somewhat hard because we do have that technology today that it would really be that so easy for you to get that influenced or would really be in exposure.

You would really be that definitely be ending up on playing again and again. This is why it would really be that best that you should really be that avoiding as much as possible.
If you are really that serious on quitting gambling then you should really be that trying out to avoid as much as you could because if you arent that serious on quitting
gambling or stopping then it would really be just depending on you.

It would really be that impossible that you cant be able to do so if  you are really that serious on stopping or having a break. You would be able to
notice up into yourself on what are the things that changed up on doing extreme engagement with gambling.

Read a book, go to a psychiatrist, take up a hobby, start a relationship. What I am saying is basically look for a distraction or another way to occupy your time. Get you a support system made up of family and friends and ask them to help you stay busy and keep your mind busy and not thinking about gambling.

If you have recognized the problem then you're already on the path to recovery.
Seek help from professionals and take any help you can get.
If it's even a church that helps you speak with a psychology or at least a group attended by a psychology, take the chance. Speak with them and attent their meetings.

Sometimes in some countries the state isn't offering adequate support for those that even have recognized their problem. But there are usually organizations that help. It's always best in problematic situations that also involve depression to speak with a pro though. It's the best and safest solution to reduce harm.
