That is why we must be able to control ourselves when playing gambling because many victims have suffered big losses in gambling. We always want to keep playing, thinking we can win a large amount of money. We can win it someday but if we count the money we have or will spend, is it worth the time we spend gambling and can we still control ourselves in gambling? That is a big question mark that we must answer ourselves.

There is limit to everything and no gambler should ever play more than they can afford to lose but think of it as gmabler, if you are playing to win and thinking that all possibilities are going to be in your favour, isn't should be expectancy of a gambler to also be making preparation for loss, its either you win or loss but we are always centred on winings and that's why some players always put more than they can afford to loose and then at the end of the the day put themselves in a tight spot that may make them feel uncomfortable.

That the big enemy when you already attached to these vices, you always wanted to try the strategy inside your mind, I was back then have this same case, even I'm not playing there's something lingering or imagining inside me, the next thing I know i already inside and trying to make things happen only to find out that the outcome is different from how I projected things.

Weird but if you have that capability to control yourself, your chance of enjoying and making some decent winnings is possible,

while if you don't have that, the chance of getting addicted is the worse scenario that may happen to you.

This is a common thing that happens to every gambling player.  if a person is experiencing continuous fatigue for days and lost a lot of money, well what you say will happen, anxiety, insomnia, emotions, all lead to insanity and this is not very good.
someone needs support so that he doesn't get stuck in the same problem.  So if you want to play gambling, make it part of the fun in your free time
whatever it is when done in excess then what happens to the body is a negative effect. all gamblers who lose money automatically disturb their psychology and it creates excessive frustration

there are many stories of gamblers who died of heart attacks due to exhaustion playing gambling, this should be a lesson for all gambling players

There is such a psychological feature of the human psyche - a person experiences more negative experiences from losing than joy from winning.

In gambling, losses and winnings are distributed approximately equally (50/50).  In this case, the player experiences more negative emotions.  This can lead to nervous breakdowns and depression.  In particular, a person may begin to suffer from insomnia.  He may be haunted by disturbing thoughts about past gambling.

All of the above applies to beginners (experienced and professional players adapt to this feature of the human psyche).
Such psychological impact on our mind never lasts longer, it eventually vanishes in time especially when we experience some good moments after worse events. Of course, to remember those days that we've lost is a normal interaction and it keeps on our minds for a few days. I'm not sure if this is weird or not but this makes our minds even work and changes our mindset. It helps us to even realize that losing from gambling is natural.
That's the thing when we experience losses along the way as we gamble especially if we did lose some good amount, so for sure we won't have a comfortable nights to sleep good, and that thought will linger and haunt us while we're laying in bed. But I agree, that will cease and eventually we will just get used to it as we will harbor new experiences day by day. The important thing is that we will always choose to move on and we will just think at those memories again to remind us.

Not all players could control his mind, especially when he had suffered losses earlier. He would be carried away to think about his defeat and at another time, he would come back again with the desire to recover from his loss. If he can't get rid of the distracting thoughts, he will inevitably get carried away with negative emotions and negative thoughts will arise as his emotions become more unstable. In this case, mastery over the emotions resulting from defeat is very necessary because it will help us to get rid of the feeling of wanting to recover from previous defeats.

Anyone experienced or suffered from this, whether from winning or from losing where a particular gambling session keeps staying in your mind and you'll having sleeplessness thinking about that particular session over and over again, the same bet keeps repeating over and over again and you keep asking yourself what if you do the opposite.
I'm glad I overcome this and I see to it now that whenever I'm login off to casinos I'm playing I will not think about it whether I lose or win.
I experienced this before (few years ago when I was addicted in gambling) its because of the losses that I cant get over. Having sleepless nights, keep thinking of that moment and the eagerness to gamble again to chase it back. Its a hard stage of my life that I dont want to look back. It takes me months to overcome that addiction with the help of my family. I had to go to a place where I can unwind.

I am glad you are able to let go of your losses that day.

As to OP's question, I do have this kind of experience from time to time.  It is not because of winning or losing, it so happen that I got some strategy in mind and think the what-ifs consequences if I applied them to the games.  It kinda makes me feel excited because at the back of my mind I feel like I am a genius (lol) though as I think of it today, I feel I was like a fool trying to beat the system laid by the Casino.

For me I only feel desperate when I lose. It makes me won't stop until I finally revenge what did I lose on that day but you already know what will be the outcome. Yes, I mostly fail. Winning on the other hand is the one that makes me feel contented.
I also get that feeling but i've eventually come to a realization and learned to accept my losses and move on to my next plan or pick. It's one of the best things you can do to avoid that same scenario from happening in the future. With winning it just becomes a temporary fix as you still have tons of losses to look back on which could encourage you to continue your "revenge".

Requiring support from another person is difficult to do when you're in that situation as not everyone can easily open up about their gambling problem but IMO a better alternative would be to find a solution in his own way and have a stopping point.

I think such things are very common and obvious when you have an unexpected loss or an unexpected win. I remember placing a bet with 12 legs in the parlay and I won some 8-9 legs straight away and then marginally lost the 10th leg. The amount placed on the bet wasn't massive but it had some serious negative impact on my mind for atleast a week because the odds were some 140x or around that mark.

This doesn't mean I am addicted or anywhere close to that. It's just some losses are hard to digest regardless of the amount and some wins are hard to overcome and get back to reality. This unexpected joy is also the reason you see a person winning a million-dollar lottery but slowly loses back everything to the lottery and still feel good about it because he has that one good memory and the losses are small and forgettable.
Sometimes I tend to think that this ´happened at the university, especially when I was studying mathematics, sometimes there was a type of exercise that I could not solve, then when I went to sleep I solved it even without falling asleep, sometimes I used to solve the exercises in dreams, so this is analogous to what can happen in the game, it's not bad, it doesn't represent an addiction either, it's just that the brain of some people is like that, normally that happens to people who have photographic memory and that usually happens, there maybe when you're on break they can give you those flashes of solutions.

When you do find yourself to be that impulsive then its better not to engage with gambling because you would really be putting up yourself on big risk of addiction or messing your entire life with.
Gambling is for fun and not for money making and not all would really be having that kind of control or discipline towards it which you should really be careful on doing so.Whenever you do find yourself
on minding or thinking gambling even if you arent doing gambling at all then its a solid indication or sign that you are already getting addicted to it and which you should really be thinking
about it or having thoughts on starting to avoid because you are gradually becoming addicted.
Yes, one to two sessions of gambling is already enough but more than that is not going to be healthy anymore. Sometimes we have this sense that we need to come back because we think we are going to win this time but we shouldn't follow that. How many times I have this feeling but I rarely win and my losses are only pilled up.

Right now when I have this feeling, I just completely ignore this and I then divert myself on other things that are also enjoyable like playing a video game. I think it is normal if we think of gambling sometimes but this doesn't mean that we are now addicted. it's just our minds are not occupied. Just keep yourself busy on other things to fix this.

Yeah, that's the same to everyone who's aiming and wanting to have more because of those losses. We feel that there's a need to revenge and chase those losses.
But eventually, what's happening is where able to lose more and then add more to that losses until we feel uncomfortable and hard to accept those losses because it's bigger than before.

Yup, that's really natural in gambling. We surely want to get revenge for what we've lost in the past few days and get greedy but eventually, we all end up on the same road as we end up losing (mostly). Following our instincts sometimes can put us at a risk that we might not evade, that's why it's important that we have the right mindset when we gamble. Of course, that's easier than done but we need to practice that mindset so that we can always know our boundaries.

Personally, I rarely participate in such gambling activities like in casinos and when I decide to gamble, I will just bring a decent amount of cash because all I want is to have fun or keep my mind busy. My goal is not to earn but to keep my self entertained whilst I still have some spare time and if eventually I got my capital doubled then that's just a bonus. Being a addicted in any sort of things including gambling is never an easy path because you're decision making is already impaired.

Recovering from defeat is the desire of many gamblers, especially those who have suffered losses in many gambling games. But if they can think wisely that recovering from a loss in a gambling game is not recommended, they will not try it even if there is an urge to continue gambling. They will realize that it is wrong and try to stop for a while and lower the tension after playing and suffering a defeat. So if we have suffered defeat, it is better not to continue playing gambling and calm down for a moment or just stop playing gambling.

I think it happens from time to time to everyone who plays games, especially competitive games. This is not unusual, and assuming you have lost an important game (or a large sum of money), you will think about it and possibly sleep badly. Although, for example, after something important, I first of all get tired and sleep with great enthusiasm  Grin
True and it also happens when you were having a great session of betting and everything was going nicely and suddenly you start having some losses followed by complete haywire and evaporating the balance within moments. It has happened to me a lot and especially when I am playing dice because I am playing with a 90% win chance and 10x on losses so it goes nicely only until I have 3-4 losses in a row and then everything is bad again lol.

Even if it's a big bet like the amount of money that you seldom make a bet, it will surely linger on and stay on your mind, if it's coming from a loan or saving it will frustrate you to lose it and it will stay on in your mind, if you're not comfortable in your loss it will stay on your mind some for hours, others days or weeks and even some for months, we are emotional creature and we have feeling and that feeling stay on, depending on how we address that feeling.
If the money is coming from a loan or savings then one needs to quit gambling right away and see a doctor because this is a direct symptom of problem gambling. I recall when I was betting a lot on bet365 I was once called on my mobile and asked some questions as they normally ask to ensure the gambler is not addicted and one of the questions they asked me was something around "Do you gamble funds which are not meant to be gambled?" something like that in better form and more indirectly.
