I would say ask that question in the Altcoin Section - but that is just my opinion  Wink

I'm running on a linux server (ubuntu 15.10) that is an old repurposed desktop with a 7-port superpbag hub using y-cables to three sticks.

Each stick is set to about .77 and I see this error with freqs from 250-350 (i don't touch the voltage in between).

The original compac stick has always run on this hub and it never has a problem.

Stick 2121 never initializes in cgminer anymore - the light goes white then green and then stays there.  Tried dropping it into a windows machine and no difference.  If i take my original stick (268) and toss it onto that same windows box - works great.
Stick 2125 generally plays nice but HAS gone off into the weeds once or twice.
Stick 268 has never had a problem on any machine / setting.

I have taken 2121 and put it directly into another USB port on the server and jacked the freq WAY down - nothing.  I've tossed it onto a windows machine - zadiag and all.  Cgminer never can detect it.

such a weird issue.

i had linux close to perfect for more then 4 months now the one stick.  When I mail it maybe sidehack can find out issue.
some eye candy  here is a block won  by me .  yeah it is an alt coin yeah it is worth about 25 usd a block but still it is fun.

well I guess karma strikes.

I gave away that 13th stick when it died and I hit a block PPC not BTC

Funny thing I switch to PPC with the sticks and I hit 2 blocks.

 Since the 13th one died.

One was an orphan the other is pending.  68 coins worth about 0.00115 btc each or 0.0782 btc

I am also a Compac Virgin and have the same problem.  Here are a couple of screenshots.  I did try adjusting the frequency but it did not help. Any help would be appreciated.

Well what the heck is going on? Every one of these runs on my test setup at 200MHz for a minimum of one hour. Anything that throws errors gets pulled for repair and retesting. Anything that even throws more than expected hardware errors without raising the voltage more than 20mV from bench setting doesn't even get shipped.

I get Kilo17's error when i didnt use zadig and installed the right drivers and also for unknown reason. When it is "unknown reason" it is typically once at boot time which is fixed by hot replugging the stick.

Using Minera on an Rpi -- going to try running directly from a PC

I bought 3 and have tried 2 with the same problem.  Haven't tried the third

I'm assuming you adjusted the voltage up a bit to hit 250? If not, that could be the problem. 250MHz should only draw about 1.1A at the proper voltage setting, but if the voltage is too low the chip itself erroring out would be your problem.

yeah i put it at as close to .7 as i could get..

the other old hub i have runs them at 250 with only 1 or 2 hwe per week or so.

i think im going to order the anker 10 port hub and try that.

the ones i had have been running pretty stable at 250M since i got them.. but i just got a new hub a superpbag that is supposed to have 2a per port..
it seems that hub cant handle them at 250M.. i dropped them down to 180 and its been pretty stable.

maybe i got a bad hub :/

Does it initialize but the white light never once flashes? If so, it's a bad connection between the ASIC and PCB.

It's funny because for a short while it hashed out of the box.  Then I started running into this.  But yes at the moment it does initialize (light up) but then never a single flash.

I need to do further testing - I got the same error no matter which port on the hub I used, nor a usb port on the server.

More testing to come.  I'm going to knock the voltage and frequency way back and see if things play nicer.

Second stick from this batch is acting up now.

[2016-02-21 13:09:16.037] COMPAC 2: No valid hashes for over 10 secs, attempting to reset
 [2016-02-21 13:09:16.217] COMPAC 2 attempted reset got err:(0) LIBUSB_SUCCESS

BUT - again i haven't had the time to rule out the superpbag so I'm not making any conclusions.  I just need time to test.

i have this hub.. and i have this error.. what i did was unplug the hub and turn it off.. then turn the hub on and plug it in..

some reason the hub doesnt like to be turned on after you plug it in.

edit.. i think its the hub Sad

i just got it yesterday so i didnt test it very much and i am today and im getting this

[2016-02-21 15:09:35.051] COMPAC 1: No valid hashes for over 10 secs, attemptin
g to reset
 [2016-02-21 15:09:35.230] COMPAC 1 attempted reset got err:(0) LIBUSB_SUCCESS
[2016-02-21 15:10:35.051] COMPAC 1: Device failed to respond to restart
 [2016-02-21 15:10:35.051] COMPAC 1 failure, disabling!
 [2016-02-21 15:10:37.721] Hotplug: Gekko added COMPAC 3
[2016-02-21 15:10:48.032] COMPAC 3: No valid hashes for over 10 secs, attemptin
g to reset
 [2016-02-21 15:10:48.198] COMPAC 3 attempted reset got err:(0) LIBUSB_SUCCESS

they switch off, one by one until none is running.

this is why we buy from sidehack
