Put that USB fan on a different power source, somewhere other than your hub. Just to make sure that its not feeding back some weird signals to the hub.

When the flat part of the pot is straight up, your core voltage is 550mV. Try adjusting it to almost literally any other setting and it should run better.

Also when attempting to use bfgminer 5.3.0:
with a config of:
bfgminer -o stratum+tcp://stratum.antpool.com:3333 -u xxx.1 -p x -S antminer:all --set antminer:voltage=x800 --set antminer:clock=x0b83 --set antminer:timing=0.022421
also tried:

no luck on any of those configs....same comms error....so the problem is not my hardware, as it DOES work in Multiminer on an "old version?" of bfgminer..but not any of the current ones....Very Strange.
Plus they all hash much faster in the cli interface than in multiminer.

The curious thing to me is both low hashrate and zero errors. That condition really shouldn't exist. What frequency are you running at, and what core voltage? Does Multiminer enumerate them as U3? As far as I know, no attempt has been made to get Compac support in Multiminer. Is that one BFG based?

I have all the compacs with the flat part of the Potentiometer pointed straight up - north
This version of multiminer seems to be running a version of bfgminer which i do not know. I have only run them in this usb3 hub as it seems to have enough power to run them all.
I have tried starting with 1 of course. same results in multiminer with the hashrate, and zero errors on poolside.

Personally id rather have them run in a cli based version of cgminer asIi like to see it that way, but am getting all sorts of errors when i try that. very similar to the:
Compac 0: No valid hashes for over 10 secs, attempting to reset
Compac 0 attempted reset got err (0) LIB_USBSUCCESS

Your screenshot shows them working at 8 Gh/s in BFGMiner, despite the errors.
If there's buggy software, it would need to be your OS, since that's where the error is coming from.
But seeing as Windows works fine for plenty of other miners with these same devices, the only difference is your USB hub or motherboard...

Have you tried cgminer 4.9.2? Its been running my sticks flawlessly for nearly a week now on Win 7 32 bit.
Do you mind sharing your bat file? I also had to copy over that zlib1.dll file from an old version of cgminer, strange how its not in the release and wont run without it?
Any help at this point would be appreciated.
I was able to get all 5 USB sticks to run in the same Anker hub running MultiMiner-4.0.4 but couldn't get them to get over 3.5 GH/s each, maybe I'm not adding in the correct values in that interface which I am not very familiar with.
But to see them all running , even slow in there all at once , AND getting all accepted shares and 0 HW errors poolside, makes me wonder why I cant get it to run on the custom cgminer build , or the bfgminer fail.

. Thats wierd about the zlib1.dll, I thought that was a problem with my pc.My cgminer .bat file is:

Stock frequency is 150, mine are currently running at 300 / 16GB each with plenty of cooling.

No hub, Vs are near 0.8, no two sticks are the same tho, have a direct 5cm fan on each mounted on its heatsink, no Y cable, just good brand name motherboards.

Yes sorry I'm using win32 binary from the OP:
I (novak) have written a cgminer driver which enumerates the compacs as expected, removes the error, and ramps up the clock slowly to prevent spikes on USB power. My custom cgminer can be found here:

Mine installed but without zlib1.dll and wouldn't run so I used the file from another version of cgminer I had.

I am testing running multiminer and all 5 are running but at slow rate of 3-4GH/s each..soooooo go figure?
not sure how to rectify that..any ideas? I would like the cgminer version to work actually.

I have used this exact hub filled up - up until the other day running bfgminer and/or cgminer with the old block erupters and most recently the Bitmain U2 USB miners....So that theory is incorrect...I would say it is a software issue at this point as there seems to be a forum filled with buggy software.

These sticks run great on Linux and the custom cg miner build.
God like in that they run close to perfection.
They were created and tested with Linux running the custom cg miner

I've been testing 1 of these for the last 5 days, got it plugged into a USB 2.0 hub that's plugged into the RPi running Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (for the Pi's), with 5 sticks at 325MHz.

In 5 days I've gotten 2 HW with A 9676736 and R 4544.
EDIT: For a quick check, I just now plugged the Superbpag 7 Port Portable Multi USB Charger 70 Watt 14A with USB 3.0 Hub to the Pi, and it looks like it is working.
So I'm going to let it run for 24 hours and see how it go's at 325MHz.

Ive been putting off a hub because I want usb 3 + fairly high power that would work with compacs, portable usb 3 drives and compatible with rpi.
now I have no excuse not to get one
btw which rpi (sorry if you mentioned it previously)?
It's a Pi 2 model B
With the hub plugged straight to the Pi, 0 HW so far for 1 hour running.
