This is actually quite surprising!!!

For the DragonMint.

Minimum quantity: 1 unit. (used to be 5)

USD wires are possible though MyRig Inc by completing this form.
I guess since BTC is fluctuating so wildly hour to hour the time between when you transfer BTC into your pay account and are actually able to make the payment can swing by $1000's making an actual dollar value purchase impossible.

Bitmain also has their "new" Model V9 out - cheap price but it sure looks like a recycled S7.

March delivery - and it's ALREADY very marginal on profitability even at MY super cheap electric rate.

Wait, the miner nobody's ever seen and has been advertising its first (sold out) batch shipping in March has something in stock?

Wondering out loud if the crash of BTC, China and Korea seriously clamping down on crypto trading, major CC companies blocking crypto exchanges from using to purchase, if the supply of mining hardware and chips has eased up any. E.g. demand for hardware has fallen off a cliff.

Seems Bitman has product suddenly back in stock again

and so does
https://halongmining.com/shop/dragonmint-16t-miner/

But the prices are still as high (or higher) than ever.

If these are coming through bitshopper.de then I will buy a few as well. The reduction in shipping and import VAT makes it a payable hobby again in the UK.

This might be exciting news then

mmm, low quality video, looking like they are stacking little aluminium cuts, into trays.. "Yah i see chips, MUST be real!"

well, the looks of them, they are 50x50mm BGA chipsets. looks something like the old KnC miner chips..

none the less, still no stats on what the chips are or how they are laid out..

What's exciting about a stack of shrink-wrapped mailboxes?

You've inspired me for a new novelty bitcoin item.

magic...like dragons, right?
DM8575

That would be AWESOME.

Well now, thats a small leap there.. if they are real, would like to see sidey cringe at em.. I cannot find any more info on them other then the same regurgitating spiel over "news" sites. nothing saying what fabrication size they are, no pictures of the chips, no docs of any kind.. for all we know they are 110nm fabs with BGA layout, sidehacks favourite trash.

If these are real, I wonder if we could get a sample of say 10 to let ol'sidey to snap/crackle/pop/smoke/glow/plain ol' abuse.. if not, anyone else doing QNF type packaging? or MLF? or even DIP? everyone is going BGA and sidehack hates that type with a passion.

I am guessing Halong Mining for the most efficient chips (if they are real). They seem open to selling their product to outside vendors.

We won't know if they are real until the first batch gets into the hands of real users in the next month or so.

Thanks for the update.

No news currently. The last I heard from Bitfury, chips were sold out until around Halloween.

But Bitfury's not the only game in town. We might see a little magic yet.

I'm just gonna go ahead and enter few wild guesses here about the ASIC chip manufacturer  Cheesy

BW.com? Canaan? Pangolinminer? Halong Mining (if they are real)?  Ebang Communication?

I hadn't talked to him in a while so I emailed on Monday, haven't heard back yet. Earlier on he swore up and down that I'd have access to chips so I really hope he follows through on that, even though it's taking me forever to be ready for 'em.

Nice.

I hope my Finnish comrade mr. Punin from Bitfury is still ready to sell those chips, when it is time for manufacturing.  Smiley

I don't expect to be doing too much with BM1384 after January or February. Starting this week I'll have R&D time again so better stuff will be back in active development. I've already got half a layout done for the next step in BF16 testing, which should be fun, and another thing or two in the works.
