Both men and women, regardless of societal lens, have recreational pursuits. It's human nature. Gambling, as an entertainment form, shouldn't be the yardstick to measure someone's moral compass, especially when seen through a gendered lens. Men, women - it doesn’t matter; everyone deserves autonomy in their choices. But here's a thing to note: Gambling, while a form of entertainment, can have serious consequences if not approached responsibly. Research & studies show the negative impacts of unchecked gambling on mental health, finances, and social relationships. It's not about who does it - man or woman. It's about how it's done. Responsibly, within limits. I'd urge everyone to educate themselves, understand the stakes, and act wisely. After all, informed choices pave the path to balanced living. Wouldn't you agree?
Yes, I agree with you, indeed gambling among women and men is no different depending on what type of gambling they are playing, and as you said, gambling must be based on responsibility and wisdom so that it doesn't cause things that will have a bad impact. for yourself and also society. If you gamble with the aim of having fun and not expecting to win, I think gamblers can control their thoughts and emotions because they can limit themselves from gambling.
So here the most important thing is that there is no problem if gambling is carried out among women if they can control their thoughts, are disciplined and responsible when carrying out these activities and can bear all the risks they will face from their gambling activities.

Even though these religions have prohibited gambling, men and women still gamble, and many are addicted to gambling.
If this is the case, it is contrary to the purpose of gambling, where gambling is only to have fun.
And all of that can be overcome if gamblers, men and women, have self-control and self-discipline so they will not use gambling to make money.
If we refer to the research, it may be true that women are more interested in percentage-odds-based games while men are more interested in skill-based games.
But for the real answer, we will never know because that means we have to research gambling in all countries, both those that prohibit and allow gambling.
In the current era religious regulations are no longer so emphasized by most people whether women or men even though everyone understands that the religion they adhere to also strictly prohibits gambling.
Apart from the main goal of having fun in gambling, they also have other goals such as wanting to get some luck to win because since the Covid pandemic until now the economy in every country is still considered weak or unstable many small businesses have experienced bankruptcy and several private employees have been expelled and it is difficult to get a job again.
In fact I don't agree with this reason and all the same there are many women who are looking for fun from games of skill and men who are looking for a percentage of opportunities so this cannot be said to be the right reason and proven logical.

Yes that true and doing research is not easy especially now that there are so many gamblers turning to online casinos and it makes it difficult to know the gender of each gambling account.
They know that gambling is prohibited in their religion but they still gamble and if that is the case, no one can forbid them from continuing to gamble but hopefully, they can take care of themselves while they are gambling.
And it is hoped that they can use gambling as entertainment so that they do not gamble excessively and become addicted to gambling.
But it is true that since Covid-19, many people cannot go anywhere and need entertainment. Online casinos saw this opportunity and carried out promotions to attract these people.
This strategy is considered successful because many people see gambling as entertainment when they can't go anywhere, so many of them start gambling and not only men but women also gamble, although still secretly.
Yes, we may disagree with the study's results, but that is what they got and if they repeated the study, the results might be different.

With the rise of female gamers, females who are earning their own money, definitely there will be a lot more females who will associate with gambling.

But the reason why I think the casinos are not involving themselves too much with women population is because it is sometimes which is actually very problematic. A man understands what will happen when he puts his money on the line for gambling. Either they get the money back with a little something more or they lose the money. But they are never going to cry about it. The problem with women is that they do not take accountability. All it takes is for one woman to make a stupid video with her iPhone that she got scammed in a gambling situation or casino, and the casino is definitely going to face a lot of backlash.
I wouldn't agree to this at all, not even a single bit. First of all, we need to end up putting genders into generalization, I have a wife, a mom, an aunt and had grandma before she passed away, and none of them were alike at all, put them all on a casino and I guarantee you that there would be some that would be exactly like how you said, while the others just the opposite and all the things in between.

But, I also guarantee you that if you put me, my father, my uncles, all into a casino, there would be some who will not take accountability (my uncle probably lol) to all those who you said as well. That's why there is nothing like that at all regarding genders. My wife gambles all the time, and takes full responsibility at all times.
And due to that we do have our own free will in disregard on what gender you do have which is definitely true. There's no way that genders would really be a solid indication whether they would get interested with gambling or not on which this is really that something will vary or demand with personal approach and this is something that would really vary on each person. Its true that there's no difference about them on regards with gambling
whether you are a girl or boy,man or woman, if gambling do interest you then you would definitely be dealing with it and this is something that its reality on which there's no sense on trying out to separate those males and females on whatever things that it is available or services or whatever it would be because it would really be just that the same. It would be all according to someones interest and perspective towards gambling.
Just like me on which i do love to play but at the same time i do hate gambling on the sense that it would really be making you that wrecked or bankrupt because no one really likes on losing money
but for some entertainment then other people could really be able to deal with that.

Yeah, even in male dominated games like poker, you can see that there are women also who are engage in this sports and maybe we can see them winning in the future as well.
~

They are winning already. Vanessa Selbst has won $12 million during her poker her poker career. Liv Boeree - almost $4 million. Maria Lampropoulos - almost $3 million. There are many others like Maria Ho, Vanessa Rousso ... There are so many of them women winning big money in poker that I mentioned only very famous(in my opinion) ones. Women are playing with men and manage to beat them sometimes. Check this out, for example:

Poker Goddess Destroys Everyone in $7,551,857 Final Table!
wow, that's a big win, actually women can be invincible when they manage to focus on what they are doing such as doing business and also gambling, i have long noticed that there are quite a lot of women who are really very skilled at card games and also dice, they seem like having natural talent, but often their romance is very bad, well that's because usually women are like the women above, they don't depend on men and are independent, they fight to obey the rules that women have to take care of the family.

       -   There are other religions that do not prohibit gambling, such as Buddhism, Hinduism, and others. This means that in these countries that I have mentioned, the religions do not say that it is forbidden to gamble, whether it is a woman or a man, nor is it mentioned whether even a child can gamble too.

But there are other religious countries that oppose gambling, such as Islam, Christianity, and others. Because for me, there seems to be no difference between women and men; if only there were when it comes to self-discipline and self-control, this is the only part where I see the difference between them.

From what I see about their differences, I see that more men are gambling than women even before Bitcoin was born. Since both men and women having equal minds, so as their emotions in terms of playing online gambling.

Regardless of the gender, both men and women are prone to gambling addiction whenever they have either winning or losing streaks. If we do not learn how to control our emotions after winning or losing streaks, we would definitely be losing our hard-earned money.

No such thing as gender inequality when it comes to gambling.

The same way several men became more active gamblers because with the internet , they can gamble peacefully from the comfort of their homes or offices, so also are women in their small numbers, have decide to try gambling since it no longer required going to a physical casinos to sit together with different men and all that .
with everyone becoming more connected to the internet, whether women, men, children, adults, or old people can easily connect to online gambling and to get accurate data on what percentage of female gamblers globally, I am 100% sure we will never be able to get the right number.  we are in 2023, gender equality is quite important, 1 in 100 women worldwide must have gambled or actively gambled.

I am waiting for the time I could see holistic research that can put this argument to rest at some point,  but all the same, we can still have some discussions based on the fact that none of the arguments have any substantial evidence.
People nowadays don't really think about religious prohibitions, women and men are the same, even women and men who are religious still often commit acts that violate religious rules.
Religion in some countries prohibits gambling for both women and men and most of those countries that only limit women are very few to none and that is why we started that a lot of these comments on women restrictions are based on assumptions since there is no real fact to state that only women are not allowed to gamble.

Because most of the countries that have gambling ban is for both women and men and not only women,  what we may have is discrimination in society against women involved in gambling.

In fact, male gender and female gender are no different, they both want to gambling for entertainment, but there are not many (among women) women who gambler are usually seen as bad by the environment around them, not only women but also men according to society. If men gambler, they usually understand that. but in my opinion that is unfair because women also have the right to do what they want as long as it is not detrimental to the surrounding community. But usually women are better able to think and worry about the risks they will face if they gamble, so they do it secretly and without anyone knowing so that they are not seen as bad by the surrounding community.

Gambling knows no gender. It doesn't matter whether if you are a man or woman, or if you have different gender orientation. If you want to gamble, do so. Just remember to do it responsibly and moderately. Discipline will play a big role in someone's gambling journey. Having a positive effect or a negative one will manifest depending on how you play and if you abide with the boundaries that you have set for yourself. If you won't be a calculated gambler, and rather be an impulsive one, regardless of whatever gender you have in the spectrum, the chances of losing will be high. This is because betting and playing with analyzation is still much better to be combined with skills you possess and luck altogether for higher probability of winning.

Additionally, if you will be a risky one that will just play based on what your guts tells you and if you will be controlled with your gambling urges, the chances of you being addicted and dependent with it will be high too.

Female don't like gambling because they always think other wise in anything concerning money, it's rall and hard before you see any person who is into gambling, the men like gambling because they feel that they are meant to catter for the family they find themselves, so the kind of risk man takes woman can not take such mistakes because of they know that most of them depends on Female gender from my understanding, secondly what discouraged female in gambling is that they cannot hold their feelings when they lose.

I go with that last part as women is more emotional than men, they don't want to risk as they know that if ever things turned into worse the chance that they might collapse or maybe they might be overthink and be depress unable to cope up with the money that they spent and lost during their gambling sessions.

Women are more on the positive side of life not more will be willing to take the big risk and gamble with their fate, they've got an organize mindset which mostly focuses on family needs.

         -    In this regard, I also agree with what you said, mate. It is true that often women, when they know that they are winners,  quickly decide to stop playing immediately, unlike men, who, the more they enjoy winning, are more and more determined to play gambling because they think that they will never lose. In short, the savage has entered, usually the men.

Compared to women, I rarely see greed enter their minds. And like you said, women can control their emotions more easily when it comes to situations where they need to stop or not.

There is equal right to women gamblers such as men too. This is gender equality and we should not see it from a different angle. If a man or a male can boldly go and bet and make money for themselves, likewise women too can do the same and have a good time with themselves trying there luck. This is more about freedom and we need to make sure we don't segregate things here and leave a bigger part for male to benefit from. I know so many female gamblers from my region and they do that without any fear of what the society thinks about them because they also have the full backup and liberty to go for what they like doing.
Let us not take this discussion to a different direction right now,  because from the last few comments,  it seems to me that there is some level of misinterpreted concept which points to portray a picture of making the topic look as if we are talking about gender inequality between male and female.

Meanwhile our main focus on the discussion is on men vs women involvement in gambling,  which has been a topic that we have discussed recently on several threads on Redits too so it means that this topic is gradually gaining attention and there is a reason for that.

Gender inequality and kind of criticism is never been new into this wicked world on which men would be always having the impression that women should really be that good in staying up the house and washing dishes and take care of our kids. Wink and shouldn't really be that be able to go into those places on where men do stay and hang out but those kind of behavior and belief was already that ancient. We know that women nowadays could really do things on what men could do and having those kind of impressions are long time gone already and its been proven out already that women could do things on what men can do.

Yes women are generally afraid to take risks because they can control the bad and good sides of gambling very easily men once lost control is much harder to get back. A greater proportion of males participated in any form of gambling than females gambling can be an addiction. Gambling addicts cannot control the urge to gamble even if they lose a lot of money they are willing to risk something valuable in the hope that the reward will be more valuable. But women are afraid and mostly women don't like gambling.

I guess this opinion makes sense that is why there are also lots of well-known women gamblers in history. They've won not because o their gender or dominance in the game brought by their intimidation towards their opponents but y their discipline in playing the game. For every game that they've entered, they are the ones in control.

Most women don't like gambling because they have a low tolerance for it. They value more the security of their money rather than risking it and have the probability of losing. They cannot take such big risk, when they do- they are very conservative.
I agree to that on which women are really that very skeptical or really that in hindrance on whatever things that involves money or basically be spending it up on something which whether they would be seeing for it to be worth or not. They would rather prefer on spending money with beauty products rather than on losing it on gambling but since there are still women who do gamble for such leisure thing then its true that they are really that more better when it comes to control compared to men but we know that this one involves luck and this is something that cant really be altered out or would really be influenced whatever the gender it would be having.

There is really that always that gender discrimination and this is something that very common or usual on this community which men would really be looking down on women.
They would be always having that kind of impression that they shouldn't really be involving on things on which it is really just that good for men which there's nothing
we can do on changing up that kind of thinking or mindset.
First of all, talking about women only as consumers (especially when it comes to beauty products) and keeping them out of conversations about financial literacy is a clear example of the gender prejudices permeating our culture. It has been repeatedly demonstrated that women are just as capable as males in any aspect. To be clear, gambling is more than just a game of chance. It takes guts, risk assessment, and an analytical mindset - qualities that are common to both genders. It is stupid for males to look down on women, especially in areas where they see themselves as strong. Gender has no effect on aptitude or ability. It's time for us to dispel these myths and educate ourselves. Like any other industry, gambling can and ought to be conducted on an equitable playing field
